Me too, about trying out before 2020. I am mad at myself for not looking at the paper ballot further. I was flustered with my kiddo there, otherwise I would have examined it. I need to read up on these machines a bit more and learn why we switched. John Oliver's show did a story on the ballots and why we should/are switching from all electronic machines to ones that leave a paper trail. It's this week's episode. Oh awesome- I’ll check that out now, thanks!

Voted at 6:05 this morning while out for a run. All local races and almost no actual competition BUT I've promised myself that I will vote straight Dem in every election without question until the Republican party whole heartedly rejects Trumpism - him, his leadership, his pathetic followers in the House/Senate, their assault on the environment and science, their willingness to trade my kids' safety for NRA money, their willingness to cage human beings and embrace racism, homophobia, misogony, etc. Which I'm guessing will not be happening, so... I waved and gave a thumbs up to the guys already standing outside with their blue signs in our little red dot of small town CT. No doubt they'll get some snide remarks today. The replies on Chris Murphy's twitter today have been 😳

Today was the last time I will vote for anything for my city. We are moving to the 'burbs on Saturday. It felt good to try to make a little difference before moving out. We had mayor, city council (I only had at-large on ballot), a few school board, and a referendum on property tax increase starting in 2023 (or maybe 2022...) for school district improvements.
The mayor race is actually projected to be close for the first time. Our current mayor is doing pretty great so I am hoping he isn't knocked out. I had a tough time with the city council position. I voted for a woman who has a focus on climate, decriminalization of marijuana, and official ban on racial profiling by law enforcement. I feel she doesn't have much hope but I wanted make sure she got a chance, at least.

all my mayoral candidates suck, so I have to find the least sucky one. One of the candidates in on the ballot twice, once for mayor, once as incumbent for the Recreation District. We have 5 candidates, (Boise has 7) so its entirely possible no one is going to have a majority.

Voted this morning after school drop off. Me and dd3 were the only ones there, so feeling pretty meh about turnout. Only thing on ballot was city commissioner seats.

I’m in VA-28 and happily voted for Qasim this morning. Also voted for Jennifer Carroll Foy and then a bunch of local stuff. I’m really hoping we get our new SB rep as well as a new Board of Supervisor I voted for.

I’m trying not to freak out about the KY governors race. Louisville and Lexington have barely started reporting.

I got my vote on today. Ours too was all small local races, half uncontested. But the woman running it was happily talking about high voter turn out today, so that's nice to hear. Though I was the youngest voter in there by like half a century.

That drop in support is not as nice as it going blue but it might help a little.
