I have nothing to vote on and feel left out lol
But other cities in my county have voted so schools are closed. My oldest is enjoying a lazy day at home with mom.

My county has moved to all mail in ballots (can be mailed, dropped at various locations like libraries, city hall OR if you have to vote in person they have vote centers open for 30 days before the election). It’s the best thing ever. And I still get the sticker!

I have nothing to vote on and feel left out lol Same. One part of our city has school board elections (different school district than where we live) but that's it. It's so weird because I feel like we always have something to vote on. lol

We had state constitutional amendments to vote on and that is it. I voted early. One was an amendment to the state constitution to prohibit a state income tax forever and ever amen. I voted against it because it seems short sighted to me.

We are just voting on state constitutional amendments and bonds today, but my 3yo and I just went. We have new machines that seem like might be complicated for the olds.
I’m in favor of everyone voting. But if the TX olds who typically are all Rs have trouble and mess up....I’m not gonna get up in arms about iit. Lol

Obv I'll be working with people in Richmond on gun reform but I'm definitely going to be making some noise about ballot access and ending the every year elections

I am mad at myself for not looking at the paper ballot further. I was flustered with my kiddo there, otherwise I would have examined it. I need to read up on these machines a bit more and learn why we switched.

I talked to my buddy down at the community center and he said there have been less than 100 votes there so far. But we did, and I brought my baby, and I gave the people yelling for the “independent” Trump supporting write in candidate the evil eye, so I feel good about today lol

The new machines create a paper ballot and a paper trail so if someone hacks in and changes the votes electronically there is a paper that can be checked by hand for a recount.

I tweeted Billy Eichner last night and asked him to tweet about the VA elections and he just RT a Swing Left tweet about so I get credit for that right? 😜

I am particularly interested in our School Board Election. There are so many Republicans on that Board that need voted the heck out. One in particular....she frequently retweets Trump-fueled conspiracy theories, as well as terrible things about the March for Our Lives kids. She made sure that the kids who did the school walk out over gun violence all received Saturday detentions. She is a C U Next Tuesday.

I’m bummed. I won’t be able to vote today as I found out too late to vote absentee that I’m traveling for work today. Thankfully there is very little on the ballot it seems. It’s my first ever election that I’ve missed since turning 18. 😩

We have vote by mail and my whole family is set to get their ballots by mail permanently always and forever.
Still had to remind them they actually had to mail it back.
We dont like that you sign the outside of the envelope and have to write your phone number right next to it out in the open. Seems icky for some reason.
I forgot to sign mine and mail person left it in my mailbox with a sticky flag reminding me to sign.

We voted on 3 things. •To extend the budget override for elementary to keep art music pe etc. This wont cost anything extra so should pass. •to approve a bond for high school which would raise my property taxes about $200. Anything to raise taxes likely wont pass. •to approve same high school district to sell, rent, lease or exchange school property that is at the far west side of the large district within a couple miles of an existing property. There were no statements pro or con about this so idk.

Our local election is entirely uncontested except for school board. The candidates for my district are a 70 something Republican retired professor who has zero campaign information other than a half page ad in the paper a week ago with four typos, who is from what I've heard as far right as they come, and another very active very vocal Republican who posts a lot about importance of diversity and being inclusive but has pictures of herself with Cruz and Devos on her campaign page. I'm thinking it will go to the one who actually has a campaign but I'm underwhelmed by both.

I’m wearing my I voted sticker and two people on my team just said “what? There’s voting today?” I told them to go look into if they have something to vote on immediately. Lol.

Well it is torrentially downpouring today so I'm sure turn out will be down. But ds and I went to vote. We have quite a few local positions on the ballot. I'm desperately hoping we vote out the current highway supervisor. Our roads are terrible!

There were four people working the sign in table instead of the usual two and then I actually had to wait to use a machine. This has never happened to me in the five years I’ve lived in this ward and I hope it’s a good sign. We’re trying to flip a lot of local stuff blue. I voted for judges, county council, district attorney, and commissioner. Oh, and Marsy’s Law was on the ballot.
The kids rocked their Future Voter and The Supremes shirts. Dd yelled “girl power!” when someone complimented her outfit.

Our election page (high school volunteer who leads voters through the process) bonded with my 6 year old over sharing the same first grade teacher while I voted. It was super sweet.

Voted at 6:05 this morning while out for a run. All local races and almost no actual competition BUT I've promised myself that I will vote straight Dem in every election without question until the Republican party whole heartedly rejects Trumpism - him, his leadership, his pathetic followers in the House/Senate, their assault on the environment and science, their willingness to trade my kids' safety for NRA money, their willingness to cage human beings and embrace racism, homophobia, misogony, etc. Which I'm guessing will not be happening, so... I waved and gave a thumbs up to the guys already standing outside with their blue signs in our little red dot of small town CT. No doubt they'll get some snide remarks today.

John Oliver's show did a story on the ballots and why we should/are switching from all electronic machines to ones that leave a paper trail. It's this week's episode.
