I'm leaving work early today to meet with a speech pathologist at the daycare. I think we've worked it out that we can do the sessions there instead of me having to take him to the elementary school, which will save me from missing 2 hours of work every other week. Since he'll be graduating from ECI this week, I'm really excited to not have to pay for speech anymore.

Also, I have no idea what time M woke up this morning. When I went into her room to wake her up, she was underneath her covers watching youtube on her kindle. WTF?
Good luck to her teacher today!

We decided to list our house/start looking at new houses. Because we don't have enough going on right now lol. So today I'm working on cleaning, organizing, and getting rid of clutter (selling and donating), in between the bouts of first-tri sickness. DH leaves in a week so he has to get all the repairs/plastering/painting completed before he goes.

The market is a bit weird right now. We could have the house sold in a month, or could be sitting on it for a year or more (hopefully not). We already looked at a house we are considering putting a conditional offer on, but not 100% decided. It has a huge back yard and amazing bedrooms (and closets!!!). But the kitchen is a lot smaller than I want and there's not much storage space, so I'm hesitating.

OMG danib, that’s exciting and scary all at the same time!! Are you looking for a little bigger for your expanding family? Are you looking in the same area or someplace new? I’m at the Mazda dealership getting an oil change. No speech this AM due to sickness of speech lady (she’s the assistant to the SLP) and L keeps going into the financer’s office! (He’s the guy who helps you finance the vehicle) I had to put the TV on and amazingly he’s watching pinkalicious and peterific (?) so win! Nothing for the rest of the day. I’m not sleeping well due to stress of this IEP and having to trust complete strangers to keep my kid safe from allergens and educate him has been keeping me awake at night. Dh is supposed to get a pay increase in January so maybe then I can find someone to talk to. Tomorrow, I meet with the school nurse and his teacher to go over all his allergies and what they need to know. DH comes home tomorrow too so hoping that may help with my stress level.

I'm so, so tired. Between cleaning the house top to bottom for company (by myself, because H took the kids to ILs so I could actually, like, get things done), decorating, and cooking everything...this weekend was exhausting. I have a proposal going out the door today (hopefully, they never put out Q&A which is usually requisite so they may have to push the due date back), but we are ready for it so I'm not stressing too hard over that one.
Then I'll have a few quiet days. W's school is closed tomorrow for Election Day so he'll be home with me. We'll probably do lunch together and otherwise he can do whatever he wants while I do some work and some post-party clean up.

Cheshie6 we're not looking for a bigger house per-se. We do need bigger bedrooms and a better layout (current house has 3 bedrooms upstairs, but they are too small to share a room and the kids are too young to put one of them in the basement all alone), and we need a bigger back yard. We're looking at moving out of the city and go a few towns over, close to my mom and sisters. It's only about a 20 minute drive from where we are though so not a big deal, but being outside the main city means you get bigger houses/yards for better prices. Re allergies, I was nervous enough with C going to school, I can't imagine how I would feel if his allergy was life threatening.

Exciting danib! I love house projects and looking for houses, etc. Actually moving... that’s the difficult part! So I go back to work on Friday.... I still have so much on my to do list. I’m not going to accomplish everything I wanted to. This morning my mom came over to watch D so I could paint the front door. Then I noticed the shutters needed to be painted to match the newly painted front door. Then the medallion above the garage to match the shutters... this is normally how house projects go for me.

My meeting yesterday did not go very well and I'm a bit disappointed. His first session will be on Thursday and I'll give it some time to see how it goes. But I'm going to check in with the speech pathologist at the elementary school that I met with to get her opinion and some more information. Even though it would suck for me, I may end up transferring his therapy to the elementary school if this current situation doesn't work out. Luckily, the director of the daycare said she'd eavesdrop for me.

I'm sorry tgrimes. We are here if you need to talk/vent. Cheshie6, I know the feeling all too well about stressing over allergies. It helped immensely when I had the meeting with the teacher and school nurse. Theres also another kid with the same allergies in his class so that also put me at ease. Not that I would wish allergies on anyone, but knowing there was another kid in the same situation helped.

I got B's report from his OT/PT eval. Some of these things I am baffled by. Going in to this, I knew he struggled with using scissors, cutting out shapes, holding a pencil correctly, etc so I'm totally fine with OT because that will only help him get prepared for K next year. But the PT stuff is crazy. I was not worried at all about his gross motor skills because the kid can ride a tricycle, go nuts at the playground, jump from one couch to another, etc but they tested him on things like laying down and getting up from that position. They determined he had a decrease in core strength because when he tried to get up he would roll over to his side and use his arms to push up. like wut? I didn't even know that could be an issue. And that his primitive asymmetrical tonic neck (ATNR) and symmetrical tonic neck reflexes (STNR) are not appropriately integrated. I don't even know what that means. He also is still really super shy and has a hard time keeping focus during circle time. He doesn't fidget or move around but his eyes will wander around to something more interesting. Part of me wants to scream like WHO CARES maybe the kid is bored and the fact we never had these in depth of tests when we were growing up. So I am feeling really defeated again. Everytime I think I move forward, we move two steps back.

I'm 95% positive H has another double EI. I've been looking at his ears daily and there is fluid in his hole and the other one his canal is red and his eardrum is bulging. I called the ENT and have an appt for tomorrow morning.
And so it begins all over again.

Once I meet with the ENT I'll contact the immunologist again. FML.

waitwhat that was my thought too, did they even test for these things when we were kids?? Also eyes wandering?! I can tell you O does a lot more than that when he’s in circle time. tgrimes brutal! I’m so sorry I hope the ENT can help this time. O is going to the ENT tomorrow bc his tube has been stuck in a ball of wax in his ear canal for a long time. I’m dreading it bc he hates anything going into his ears now.

I'm sorry for the ear troubles. We are in that boat too. Next Tues we get new tubes, ABR hearing test, and dental work. The dentist called today to tell me they would cancel their portion unless we officially get cleared for anesthesia. He's going under anesthesia regardless so I think it's dumb. especially since there part is xrays and and varnish. My pedatrician wrote them a letter since we were just there so fx that's enough. Do not want to pull him out of school for a really pointless appt.

So I mentioned on SC last night we've been having a terrible time with getting J to go to sleep at night the past few nights. It all started on Sunday because I think it was windy and raining so he was scared. My H laid on his floor in his room until he fell asleep and then snuck out. He was fine. Monday night, he pulled the same shenanigans - crying for a really long time and freaking out so my H went and laid on his floor again...which I knew was not a good idea. Well, last night was the worst. After I read him some books, I started to leave his room and he immediately started to cry and didnt want me to leave. I tucked him in and left him in there crying. He screamed and cried for over an hour. He would not stop. So my H went up to his room, asked him what was wrong and he said "its windy and rainy" (no, it was not last night). He told him to lay down and that he would leave the door open for him and he said OK and laid down and went to sleep. I can't wait to see what tonight brings. Kid knows he has the control over us right now lol. I was thinking maybe keeping a night light in his room?
Today B has the dentist so I am keeping him home from school since its pointless for him to go for like an hour. J has school so at least I only have to deal with one kid there.

Good luck tgrimeswaitwhat laying on the floor until a kid goes to sleep has always been a hard No for me. I hope y’all can figure out something that works! Os ENT appt went surprisingly well. He listened to me the entire time and was pretty good for the doc. We did have to hold him down but I expected that. They removed a tic tac size ball of wax from his ear canal with the tube stuck in it. They also re tested his hearing and he passed!
