Morning ladies. I'm so glad it's a short week. Everyone has FRI off. I'm looking forward to it. I'm glad the girls have the day off too so we can all sleep in and I don't have to get them off to school. I watched the new Child's Play yesterday. Did you ever see it klong11? It did not have the same vibe as the others at all. I think it would have been better just to go with a random killer doll angle and skip the Chucky thing. Oh, and if any of you are thinking of seeing The Joker, it's horrible. I never thought I'd say this, but it was a comic book movie without enough comic book. It was very dark, serious, and depressing. The Joker wasn't mischievous with a penchant for chaos so much as he was a sad man suffering with psychosis who had a tough life. I felt like I was watching a case study at work but it wasn't interesting and didn't peak my nerd side.

B’s name is pretty hard to butcher. C occasionally gets ‘Carolyn’ (understandable), and the girl that helped us out with my groceries the other day started talking about Coraline (was this a scary/Halloween movie?) I just kind of nodded and smiled 😂
The salon I go to has me in their system as Elizibeth. I have a visceral reaction every time I get an email or I see it printed on my receipt or appt card, but in 2 years I have yet to correct it, lol. I am sure anyone who comes into contact with the misspelling probably silently judges me for it.

Interesting inthekitty, I feel like everything I’ve seen is raving about the Joker movie. I’m not really into that genre so it typically wouldn’t be on my radar but it seems like there’s been a lot of controversy, especially in light of the last one, and of course the heightened security at theaters, etc.

inthekitty no, I never saw it. Mh refuses remakes, so I'll have to wait until he's not around. If I try to watch a remake he immediately starts saying how we should watch the original and he has the Blu Ray and blah blah blah. I have to sneak them in! LOL

I am sure anyone who comes into contact with the misspelling probably silently judges me for it. Josie gets Joanie all the time. It’s because she trials away the last syllable of her name when she says it. Then when people say Joanie she pronounces her name with a hard Z. Joe – Zeeeeeee. I am a double first name. I constantly have to repeat myself when I say it. Most times I have to spell it, and people still just call me Jodi. Super annoying. Added to the fact that our last name is a tougher pronunciation. I watch people start to make the letter Y when they’re writing our name so I have started to spell before I say it hoping it gives them the heads up.

If I went in thinking I was watching something akin to A Beautiful Mind (but more boring and drug out) versus an exciting action movie, or even a psychological thriller I might have enjoyed it more. It was bad. The people raving about it are probably people who don't know much about comics (I'm no comic book nerd, but I know the Joker shouldn't be 35 years older than Batman) but want to put their noses up in the air that comic book movies can be deep and meaningful too. This was boring and depressing.

N has a funny speaking pattern and seriously sounds like Moira from Schitt's Creek a lot, especially bc she calls her brother Johnny. She is also quite ruthless like Moira is. I need to capture it on video.

Speaking of nicknames, I hate 2 of the common nicknames for my boys. Especially Benji for Ben. Like, sorry to anyone who knows someone who is called this, but that's a dog's name, not my son. I also don't like Sammy. I don't have the same visceral reaction but it grates on me when people call him that. Sam, Sam I Am, or a rhyming version I call him with his middle name are all acceptable. My name (for those that don't know my real name, my screen name is a common nickname for it) gets mistaken for the similar month as well as for vino's daughter's name, but those don't bother me so I rarely correct people.

Not a fan of creative spellings.
I know people think our names are a little out there and they do get mispronounced, but at least they are not made up completely.
Atticus loves his name and tells me all the time he thinks it’s the coolest (probably because people tell him that several times a week).
My name is easy and I still get called Amber all.the.time.

I’m taking Dude to Knott’s today as a reward. He’s been doing great in school and I told him once he had ten green points we would go.
Behavior at home has not been as great, so next time around I clearly need to make his goal more all-encompassing.

I always get debbie.. I have no idea why. Or bobby.
With J I always get asked how I spelled it. If I'm in a pissy mood I say "the right way" A yells at me for it 🤷♀️
I get a lot of compliments on MJ's name.
M is so traditional no one says anything really. Just that it's a nice name.

Waiting to pick up J from school. I've been getting little things done around the house while he's been gone. It's so much quieter when he's at school lol. Now lunch and to get M dressed for picture day.

I don't get "creative" spellings. In conversation no one knows it's different, it sounds the same, it doesn't make your child's common name any less common. It just makes it difficult to spell and pronounce. I loved the name Madison and had for a long time, and bonus, MH loved it too. So I was fine with her having a popular name. Naming her Maddisyn or some other derivative wouldn't have somehow made it unique.

Today is our last day on board. I still managed to get some interesting sunburn patterns yesterday, despite re-applying sunscreen multiple times. This was my view.

C is pretty standard so always gets pronounced correctly. With L and A people usually ask to hear it again and tend to have a harder time remembering it. A has gotten Carlo a few times.
I have an end in -a name and so many people drop the -a which is annoying.

jewels, That's funny cause there are teachers at the daycare who call Julia, Julie...like what. you see her everyday all day, you better not be calling her that during the day, I should probably say something at some point. We call her Queen J, so I guess as long as she isnt asking people to call her that, we're good B has been called 'Ben' many times and I always correct people. It's either 'B' or his full name. I'm glad they ask that on school and sports teams forms so people know a head of time.

Patiently waiting for baby slenle updates. Still here. Contractions are picking up and I’m at 4 but I’m feeling pretty good. This is so different than my other 2 inductions. Doctor is predicting baby by 3:30, but I’m not so optimistic.

My name and M’s name is always mispronounced. It doesn’t bother me anymore when people say may name incorrectly. I stopped correcting people in junior high. My mother was pissed when she went to a parent teacher conference and my algebra teacher was caking me Tanya. I went the whole year without saying anything. Lol.
I correct people with M’s name and made sure her kindergarten teacher knew how to pronounce it before the first day of school. I’m pretty sure she just goes with flow so I’ll need to be the one to correct people for the time being.

I think I learned from klong11 at the meetup.

This is what happens when you take a tired kid into Panera... On the bright side, I’m eating a peaceful lunch 😂. But she only got about 3 bites in before she had an epic meltdown and then fell asleep.
