We had 4 inches of snow this morning! It was actually kind of pretty and the roads were fine. I’m worried for Halloween because it’s supposed to snow/sleet and Ds1 is so excited for TOTing. If anything, we’ll just bundle up and go to a few houses.

We're supposed to have rain and crazy wind Thursday. Serious bummer, my big kid is so excited for trick or treating.
No snow here yet, but it'll show up sooner or later. We just moved form the number one most snowiest city in the US to the number three most snowiest city, so it's still imminent. We usually just get fucking annihilated in January and February, though snow in November is very typical and snow in October is not uncommon. I definitely have done my fair share of trick or treating in snow gear.

Yeah. It’s supposed to be 50 and rain on Halloween here. We did trunk or treat Friday and B had a blast so we will probably just go to our next door neighbors houses. H wants me to take B to his work too, but I would have to log off at 2:30 and I already took off early Monday and have off Friday so we’ll see.
We have family pictures outside on Saturday. 46 and sunny. This should be fun.

Finally checking in here! The last couple days have been busy. I don't (and never have) live in an area that doesn't just ToT at dusk, on Halloween, so that's what we are doing tonight. We are going to be PJ Masks characters. DD2's costume is so cute. Guys, I have a chunk on my hands. DD2 is 95th %ile for weight, and 35th for height. She has toddler chunk, but honestly I don't think she looks that disproportionate! I know she is still little though, and the pedi wasn't worried, so I am not worried. She eats a lot of fruits and veggies, at least? I can't believe she is going to be 2 on Monday!

It snowed a few inches last night/this morning but stopped around noon. So we had some snow on the ground but it wasn’t actually precipitating for Trick or Treat. It was cold and windy though so the kids still had to wear big jackets and boots. C was so cute, but slow, so DH and I took turns hanging back with him while the other went ahead with Ds1 and their cousins.

It was cold here (for us) so we didn’t do much TOTing. Maybe 10 houses total between the ILS neighborhood and ours. We had about 3 trick or treaters come to the house too so that was disappointing. We are now drowning in candy lol. L seemed to have fun though. He was sick last year so I barely got his costume on him then.

Happy Halloween! I finally have time to check in here tonight. We also only trick or treat on Halloween night here. We went to a friend's neighborhood and the kids had a blast! We went way further than we expected and other than the same short chunky legs and lots of stairs issue thatgolfb DD did great. It was reasonably warm here, my sloth costume kept me just right haha. Good luck to the ttc-ers rooskie and cnf!!

We ToTed last night despite pouring rain. Our neighborhood was still crawling with kids and parents with umbrellas. I took DD2 home after seven houses because she insisted I carry her the entire time. Lolno. DD1 stayed out quite a bit and we picked up one of her classmates randomly along the way, so I really had to pry her off her friend and ToTing to be done after an hour. I was over the rain and she was soaked, though she had a blast, so whatever.

We TOT asd well even though it was rainy and super windy. We did the local Trunk or Treat and it was crazy busy. I wasn't sure how I would feel about not going to houses, but I will say it was so much easier. E didn't have a clue what was happening, but damn he looked adorable in his sloth costume. Of course both boys went to bed late and were up early this morning. That means this evening the big is going to be a mess because he is in school all day. jules1614, you can keep the snow. I keep thinking of last year when we had our first major snowstorm on November 15th. We've had snow on Halloween before but it always melted pretty quickly. It looks like that snow is sticking around for awhile.

The bad weather we were expecting held off longer than I thought, so we were able to ToT with N. He didn't quite get it - he's still kinda reserved when he sees "new" people (they're our neighbors so I'm using the term loosely - we don't see them daily so I'm sure that's why he's still nervous), so he was more comfortable saying "bye" when we were done than ToT/thank you/etc. At one house, a woman let him pick something out of her basket, and N decided to put some stuff from his bucket into hers instead. Super cute.
He was Elmo - I posted pics on Instagram and in the costumes thread on GD. There is red. fur. everywhere. Nothing furry next year. *gavel*
I've been feeling off all day and hope I'm not coming down with something. If the spring's time change was any indication, this coming week will probably be rough with N's schedule lol.

He kept walking right into other people's houses. lol The same thing happened with DS1 too. My children are not shy. They definitely get that from their dad.

I worked later than I wanted last night so we were TOTing in the dark. The kids a really enjoyed it.
I took them to a small county zoo today. And I booked DD’s bday treat (dress up as a princess boutique). I should figure out something small for DS to do around his bday too since we aren’t doing a party. Maybe I’ll take both of them to an indoor playground on his bday.
I’m tired. This weekend we have a 4 yo bday party and then just packing for our trip back to my hometown next weekend. I need to make sure we pack for the cold!

At least we won’t have the snow like this week, but just annoyingly cold weather that I have to pack winter jackets for. High of 33 Friday, brrrr for these CA snow birds!

I’m so bummed. DD woke MOTN with a fever and is sick so no party. It was my mommy group from when she was a baby so I’m sad not to see those ladies. I’ve been really down lately without a friends network nearby, so it hits me more than DD. Kind of related, I have an entry assessment appt to hopefully start some therapy in a few weeks. Kaiser system plus trying to not miss work pushed it out a ways.

My kids were up at their normal time, I think I could have convinced DS1 to go back to bed but ds2 wasn’t having it.

My kids were opposite jules1614. I kept them up an hour past their bedtimes and C actually slept in close to 7. Ds1 was ready and raring to go at 5 😑

Sorry DD is sick, ldubhawksfan - hope she is feeling better! And hugs for you, I feel the same since none of my friends have kids N's age (they're all older, almost all by nearly double digits). We're starting to meet parents at his daycare more, so hopefully that will change. I've been dealing with some isolated/cut-off feelings lately, which I'll definitely be discussing with my therapist tomorrow. N actually didn't do too badly with the time change, knock on wood. He woke up around 6 but seemed content to stay in his crib until closer to 7, and after that it was pretty easy to keep him on his regular schedule. He did have a few spectacular toddler moments, like when we told him it was time to leave the playground last night, but so far so good. We'll see how he does with getting picked up in the dark tonight lol. I'm still in that not feeling great but not actually sick phase, which is annoying - I just want my body to pick one or the other already. Plus my back randomly started hurting yesterday after the park, the Pats lost, and I had some super weird wine-influenced dreams. Getting the big Diet Coke this morning.
