Wow sarahandben108, that is a super long day. Mat leave must have been tough! What does he do? I'm in a turkey coma and loving it. Dinner was a bit hectic with Jojo and her two cousins, but my brother was Super Uncle and entertained them most of the night. I have to work until 7 tomorrow night to do a presentation, really not looking forward to it, but I'll be fed and it's still early so I can get a good night's sleep.

Happy Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating today! 🦃
I am freaking exhausted. I didn’t sleep great last night, then had to work all day, and then MH and I went to the Packer game with my parents. We won! Barely. It was so exciting and fun. On our way home now at 11 and I have to work again tomorrow 😫 I see lots of coffee in my future. And I miss my boys. C snuck out the front door before we left and even though I was right behind him, he managed to get to the yard before I caught him, but after I picked him up he gave me a big sloppy kiss and a huge hug. It was so sweet.

I hope our Canadian friends had a great Thanksgiving! My half on Sunday was awesome. The weather was perfect, and I beat my best half marathon time by about 6 minutes. My H brought E to see me finish, so I got a high five before crossing the finish line which was fun. then we ate doughnuts and drank cider and beer. Now I’m looking ahead to a 16.2 race in November. It’s near Plymouth and the Pilgrims landed in 1620, so the history buff in me is all over it. haha It’s in a SUPER hilly state park though, so that worries me a bit. Onto training for that, though!

Looked like a great half, congrats! I didn't really think about the hills in my city much, but then I ran the half in Disneyworld and realized that there were no hills at all and my city and neighborhood are soooo hilly. I hate hill training though.

Hi, all. I have been reading here but just felt like I don't have much to say. Plus I have been trying to read more and internet less. I am only mildly successful. Work has been busy, so that's kept me occupied as well.
I am currently planning our annual President's Day weekend mountain trip. That is the one weekend that DD1 has a 4 day weekend from school, and we are going to stretch it to 5 days and just call her out one of the days. We are going with the same group of friends we went with last year, and my boss finally approved the request, so now I am picking out a cabin. This is the fun part! There is one that has a mini home theater and game room, and it isn't that much more expensive than the comparable ones. I am thinking of just doing it.

I'm impressed with those who run marathons. Running sounds like torture to me. LOL.

We are having a Nor'easter. Basically it's raining but there are a lot of areas without power. Luckily, we are not one of them. This summer we hard wired our generator so of course it will mean we will never lose our power. But I like having the backup.
I woke up wishing it was Friday. Why do short weeks feel longer than full weeks?
I am still sick. I'm so over this. I told my H I was going to park myself on the couch this weekend. I need to get some rest to get over this never ending illness.

AW post ahead:
I just got a huge promotion at work. It’s been in the works for a while but it’s finally official! I’m super excited but a little nervous too. My H brought home flowers and a bottle of champagne to celebrate!

Thanks everyone!!
Today is a gorgeous fall day! We had ds1’s soccer game then the boys got their flu shots. DS1 was excited for it (😆) and ds2 only cried for a tiny bit. I got in a short nap and am folding the mountains of laundry I have while the boys still sleep. Then we’ll head outside to soak in the sunshine!

So my family does dinner’s out for birthdays and it was my dad’s birthday a few weeks ago. C was a hellion. We went to a family friendly pizza place that had a game area and DH, my mom, and myself basically took turns chasing C around the game area. Every time we’d try to get him to sit down, and then eat when the food came, he’d try to climb out of his chair and just scream. I took him outside to play at one point because he was just not behaving well at all. It’s my brother’s birthday next weekend and my mom suggested that I have my MIL watch the boys and come out with them by myself (H will be out of town). I’m not sure how I feel about this. Like I feel strangely defensive of C. I know he was not fun to have in public but he’s not even 2 yet so it’s not like he can help it. And I had no problem taking him out when he did act up.

pootsen maybe she wants you to enjoy a stress free evening and didn’t mean it in a bad way? Like giving you permission to not bring the boys? But I do agree with you, C can’t help it and that’s why you go places that are family friendly, so if she did mean it in a bad way then shruggy guy to her!

I talked to my mom today in person (she had texted me last night) and she apologized for the way I interpreted it. She just suggested it so I could have a more relaxing night out. I will have to bring the boys, though, and she said that’ll be just fine. Maybe C will start to act better with more practice going out??Lol

Hi all! Between work, the insanity that is our US government, and a demanding N, it's been nuts. Don't mind me LT'ing things from weeks ago Also we haven't had much to report, N continues to be equal parts adorable and standard toddler. I'm late on calling the pedi to set up his 2yr appointment and also find out if they want him in before then for his flu shot (guessing yes). He's been doing much better at swim lessons - he is super excited to get in the water with H now. His last lesson for this session is Saturday; we will probably take a session off then do another one in the spring. It's the same class until he's 3. He doesn't even mind being fully dunked! Our anniversary was Sunday, and H's birthday is Friday. We haven't planned anything yet, but our neighbor offered to watch N if we want to do anything, so we might take her up on that and go to the new Zombieland movie. I failed hard and ordered H's combo anniversary/birthday present too late from a company I hadn't ordered from before, not realizing they can take up to 10 business days to process an order. Definitely not getting here by Friday. I'll print a picture of it (new jacket) and put it in his card. sarahandben108 - Happy super belated Birthday! Glad you guys didn't lose power during the storm. My parents didn't either, and from what they told me about the wind, it's a minor miracle. Are you feeling better? roloma - congrats on the house sale! jules1614 - congrats on the promotion! pootsen - I agree with Jules, I don't think she meant it in a bad way, but I totally understand your POV. I'd feel the same about N (and have lol). I don't think there's any harm in calling your ILs to see if they can watch C - especially if your H is out of town, you deserve a break for a few hours! If they can't, oh well - you already know how to deal with "Toddler Gonna Toddler" mode

cakewench, I am feeling a lot better. Thanks for asking. I’m still coughing but not nearly as much. I’m hoping I’m heading in the right direction. Also, happy anniversary!

And hi, all. I have been following along but not really posting. I guess I just don't feel like I have much to say? I had Monday off which was nice, although I will still complain when Saturday rolls around and I have to go into work. H and I went to trivia last night, we have been going weekly. It's a lot of fun. We did okay, but didn't win anything. It was still a nice date night. He just left town for work, but will be back late tomorrow night. DD1 threw a huge tantrum yesterday over leaving aftercare at school. She never throws tantrums anymore and I think she was tired, but it got to a point where I just stuck her in her room because nothing I was doing was helping anyway. DD2 was cracking me up. She kept telling me "Mommy! Oh no! (DD1 name) crying! Oh no!" but she herself wasn't upset about it, just very adamant than I know DD1 was crying. It was hilarious. Eventually she calmed down and we all watching Frozen for the 800th time. DD2 is completely obsessed.

Happy Anniversary cakewench! Congratulations on the promotion jules1614! Last week of working at the patch is coming up. It is mixed emotions, because my house is in more disarray and I’m physically exhausted, but I’m going to miss the orange family during the off season. A is just a chatty little dude, he is starting to repeat what we say. He gets so excited when his brothers cheer for his attempts. We’ve also reached a mean streak, pretty sure it is because he can’t tell us what he wants, so I may have to step up the ASL. Now I feel like I’m just thinking aloud, per say.

I actually got a decent amount of sleep last night, but apparently it still wasn't enough to catch up, because I have almost fallen asleep several times at work today. I am a good employee. lol.
