Holy crap you guys, today there are about 37 different stories about the Queen out there thanks to her Dresser’s new book. I keep thinking “I should post that” but there are seriously 11 different ones and they’re all just random facts and nothing super juicy. I am not shocked nothing juicy is available. I figured that since she got the ok to publish she wasn't saying much. I want an in-depth tell all they don't approve |

You don’t see the similarities? It’s just like my gosh, people can beat a dead horse. It gets annoying as hell hearing the two sides argue for pages about whether or not you can criticize one or the other. No I don’t and if you want to take the time to read why I feel her criticism is different and actually hear then I encourage it but if not I’m not going to keep going because it’s exhausting I’ve read all of your responses, Did you not see me add Kate defenders to the same post? My god. I’m not even taking sides. I said I don’t like any of the arguing about either of the women deserving criticism or not. And yes, I get your standing up for Meghan is because you see a lot of racially based criticism, but I do think that people should be allowed to hate her outfit or up do. I don’t much care for that messy bun she has with the red outfit either. I prefer this one:  Same goes for Kate (I’m just giving a specific example Meghan since you are her supporter - and to clarify that isn’t a bad thing - not because I’m against Meghan in anyway). And I don’t want to go back and forth or ten pages about this either. Because my gosh. I’ll go to the blinds where I can hate everyone equally and forever. |

It’s bothering me that there are comments of let’s just get back to criticizing clothes and look at sparklies. Because while yes, that’s fun and (imo) fair game for any royal, it’s also very white privilege of any of us to be like well I don’t want to fight about it anymore so let’s just move on. Not saying we have to sit here and go round for pages, but I agree with angelashly’s point that sometimes it’s ok to acknowledge why certain criticisms hit or slant a specific way due to Meghans different race. Even if it wasn’t how one of us as posters intended it to sound, sometimes micro-aggressions are unconscious and not ill-intended. The media is being outright blatantly racist against her and then other times very micro-aggressive about it. I don’t know whether Meghan is a bitch or a wonderful lady. I don’t really care. |

I don’t really care. ❤️ Apparently it's very important for people to be able to say they don't like a messy bun, without anyone mentioning hair politics. 🤷 And hey, look, I get and believe that people weren’t/aren’t necessarily criticizing her in this instance because of her hair type as a black woman. That being said, it’s also ok to say oh, I didn’t think of that perspective, that makes sense. I will be the first one to admit that I have said micro-aggressive things about POC appearance in the past before I learned from that. It’s really, really hard to be perfect. It’s not even about being a savior WWW. It’s just about recognizing privilege and learning from it. I’m probably going to think or say something micro-aggressive again. Being raised as privileged middle class white, it’s ingrained from a young age, even from my progressive parents. |
