Like I’m laughing that kate isn’t considered a social climber when she transferred schools and waited a year to make sure she was at school with Will And about a billion other girls did similar things. Female enrollment at Will's school went through the roof when it was announced he was attending there. |

So that doesn’t disprove that Kate was a social climber, just that she was more successful than the rest.  But I remember reading that at the time. A lot of girls really wanted to go to school with him! |

A lot of girls really wanted to go to school with him! Well, exactly. But " :gasp: she did all sorts of stuff to get him to notice her" makes me laugh... Because he was the catch of the decade and many girls were throwing themselves at him. |

MM's family (outside of Doria) is so vile. I can't imagine enduring that kind of betrayal from your father. And it doesn't help that her half-sister is a troll. I think there are a number of reasons to have compassion for her and her family is pretty high on that list.

Historically WOC have been said to be divas or aggressive and I just can’t I’m not sure if you’re talking about my comments, but I was saying it’s another thing she’s dealing with, not excusing the misinterpretation of what she may or may not be saying. She’s dealing with criticism on many levels for things that no matter what she does she can’t win. Not British? A mark against her. American? A mark against her. A WOC? A mark against her. All 3 together? A lot of people saying shitty things about her for shitty reasons. And the first 2 may be just excuses because of the last 1 in many cases, but any non British woman, or American woman was going to be pulled apart for marrying into the royal family, and then the whole other level of racist bullshit that’s added on that is just disgusting. Yes, fundamentally, a lot of things that are said about her are due to racism. And then she had the other things counting against her too, which would have been a big deal for any white woman who married into the BRF. And I’m not excusing any of it. |

“OMG no one is ever allowed to not like Kate... everyone loves Kate. Can’t we just not like something?”
And:
“OMG I’m just telling you why we feel like she needs to be stood up for!”
Now replace “Kate” with “Meghan”. It’s the same go round every damn time.

I honestly can't remember well (more likely wasn't paying attention at the time), but did Dianna and Sarah get this kind of press coverage when they married?
I know that coverage wasn't the same, and there wasn't an internet full of people with a place to publicaly voice their opinions, but I vaguely remember there was some bad press when they joined the family and began as Duchesses. The world was all over the fairy-tale weddings, but after that, I do remember some bad press.
It really is just the same story being played out with new actors. And I'm sorry to say it will more than likely happen with George, Charlotte, & Louis. I hope we as a society will be better people by then, but I seriously doubt it.

Holy crap you guys, today there are about 37 different stories about the Queen out there thanks to her Dresser’s new book. I keep thinking “I should post that” but there are seriously 11 different ones and they’re all just random facts and nothing super juicy.

You don’t see the similarities? It’s just like my gosh, people can beat a dead horse. It gets annoying as hell hearing the two sides argue for pages about whether or not you can criticize one or the other. No I don’t and if you want to take the time to read why I feel her criticism is different and actually hear then I encourage it but if not I’m not going to keep going because it’s exhausting |
