Does anyone else have anxiety about throwing parties? Apparently, that extends to my kid’s birthday parties too. I threw a party in college that no one showed up to, it scarred me for life. This is the first year I’m going to throw O a party w more than just immediate family and I’m already stressing about it. I don't have anxiety about my kids' parties but my own, yes. They show up for my kids. This year we are doing a muppet theme but I can't find party supplies so we are having to do from scratch. Should be fun tho. From scratch?! You are brave! I was thinking of renting a bounce house for the back yard bc O is obsessed w them right now. Maybe peppa the pig themed bc that’s his fave cartoon. I don’t want to invite his entire class though bc it’s 24 kids... so thinking of less than 10 kids.

M's open house is tonight. She already spoiled one surprise this morning about her art project. Lol. Girl can't keep a secret.

I'm making all the decisions and cooking and he has to do that.

He got thru yesterday ok and is eating again today. I made him a big (but healthy) breakfast and packed his food for work. I'm trying to feed him healthy but filling food so get gets enough on his food days. He said he is going to do a 4:3 schedule and fast on Mon, Wed, and Fridays. His goal is to do this thru Thanksgiving and then not go crazy eating gain but let off the gas a little and aim for maintenance. We'll see. He needs to drop about 40lbs.

cookswithwine people not showing up to parties is the worst. I had a big NYE party a few years ago and we had like 2 couples show up. We usually have 20ish people for those. It ruined it for me and I gave up hosting NYE for a while. We have the opposite problem with C's birthday and last year I had to cut my guest list quite a bit since we didn't have room at our old house. Now we have a big backyard we can use if the weather cooperates. Bounce house is always a hit with the our group of friends! I'm thinking about that again too.

I’m still in stomach flu hell over here. I’m taking O back to the doctor. Today is day 10 of vomiting and diarrhea. She said if he wasn’t better by wed to come back and he is most definitely worse. I had a little meltdown last night. I’m worried about O and juggling caring for a newborn at the same time is so hard.

It's such a pain in the ass to deal with a sick toddler and even more so when you have a newborn, as well. I'm so sorry.

It's a cold and rainy day today. Wish I was curled up on my couch instead of being at the hospital.
My ILs are redoing their kitchen over the next couple weeks so MIL is going to be coming to our house to watch C. I didn't know H and I could clean the house as fast as we did last night haha.
Also H finally signed us up to get a fence installed! I'm sooo excited. I've been dreaming about a fenced backyard since we got Gracie and we'll finally have one in the next few weeks.

Yay goldenlove! What type of fence? Fencing is so expensive! We have the white vinyl fence. I like it but we do have to pressure wash it regularly. So the ped sent us for a tummy X-ray to check for a blockage or intestinal twisting. The taking of the X-ray did not go well. O was terrified. Still waiting on results. And I had to collect a stool sample and send it off to a lab. I messed that up and only did half though so I have to bring the other half tomorrow. In my defense the nurse only explained one half to me...

They just called! He has a moderate intestinal blockage aka constipated so liquid is the only thing coming out and he’s throwing up bc nothing can pass thru. I’m glad we know what it is now and it’s not so serious. We start the cleanse tomorrow. tgrimes didn’t M have to do that? I have to give him 1 dose of miralax mixed w 8 oz of liquid every hour until it passes.

We're supposed to go see Miss Saigon tomorrow night (season tickets) and while I like the show well enough, pregnancy hormones are making me dread it because of the subject matter. I'm actually tearing up just thinking about it right now. My H says we can cancel, but I feel bad because we could use the date night. I'm just feeling overwhelmed right now for a myriad of reasons and going out is the very last thing I want to be doing.

cookswithwine yay I'm glad it was nothing serious! We're doing white vinyl then chain link along the back through the trees. I'm sure we'll need to pressure wash it a lot too. Do you think a different color would be better?

cookswithwine - so glad you have some answers and that it's a (relatively) simple remedy.

goldenlove no, I think the white is pretty. It just gets green mold buildup so H has to pressure wash it. He prob does it 2x per year.

Does anyone know of a good cream or oil for scar reduction? K has scars on her chin from the surgery so I figured I could start using something to try to help it.

I would suggest alternating it in different flavors of juice or gatorade. Godspeed. I hope he has an easier time with it than M did!

I know Vitamin E oil is really good for reducing the appearance of scars, but I'm not sure if there's any safety concerns for a baby (like if she were to rub her chin and then put her hand in her mouth)

tgrimes did it eventually work? Did she pass it? We are 2 doses in, no movement yet. It takes a few doses to start working. M was usually a 4th dose goer. FTR this will end in diarrhea again. You probably already know that though.

TMI - poop talk cookswithwine Also did they tell you no solid food until you've finished the cleanse and or the poop/diarrhea is tea colored?

Going out to dinner instead would be fun normally but I have GD so eating at restaurants for the next two months interests me not at all. lol
