We got home just after 5. The super tired just hit me. I had emailed T’s teacher about C being in the hospital because I had to change his pick up arrangements. I asked T if he had homework and he said “everyone else does but not me because if your brother is in the hospital, you don’t have to do homework.” C is finishing a treatment then hopefully we will get some sleep. I’m going to try to go to work tomorrow and DH is staying with him. School is closed Monday so at least he doesn’t have to go to the sitter again until Tuesday. Since I’m technically not allowed to call out of work for my kid being in the hospital, I have 6 pages of paperwork to fill out to ask for approval. That is ridiculous. Wut? You can’t call out for a sick kid?

lahdeedah my H is leaving tomorrow to drive to Virginia for work. He packed his bag for an entire week. Evie is staying with MIL tomorrow, so I get 1 night all to myself! I'm way excited about that! I’m quite jealous you have family close by. I need to make friends here ASAP.

wedding, can I get your opinion? Our dog hasn’t been feeling well for a couple days. On Tuesday, he vomited several times on the carpet while I was gone, he had been eating grass outside and that’s what came up. Then Tuesday night and yesterday he had the WORST gas.. Followed by diarrhea last night and today. He doesn’t have much of an appetite, he did eat a little yesterday afternoon and I managed to get some probiotics on his food. He hasn’t eaten yet today and his laying next to me with a gurgling tummy. He was just at the vet last week for his annual checkup and all was good. My first thought was that he ate rabbit poop, but now I’m not so sure. Should I take him back in? Give it more time? Sorry just read this and not sure if others responded. Would the Dr prescribe you anti diarrhea meds? Since you just had an annual they likely would. Metronidazole (or Flagyl) is what is usually given and it stops the upset usually in 12-24 hours. If he’s still vomiting though you want to be seen for an injection of anti nausea meds and fluids. If he seems on the mend you can do a bland diet like chicken (boneless and skinless) and rice to help bind things or something can canned pumpkin.

Pdq
Just talked to Mh and he said they were told a high government official would be staying at their hotel.
Y’all.... the fricking VP. I wish I was there to wait around the lobby just to give him the “I see you fucker” look.

Lol lahdeedah I'd be there with you. I'm grouchy he had his car Entourage drive on Mackinac island the other week breaking a crazy tradition. At mh's bachelor party in Vegas the hotel moved their rooms while they weren't there, which caused chaos for them later when they couldn't figure out where their room was while drunk..our theory was that Obama was at the hotel and had to clear the floors above and below since he was in town that weekend. Regardless, it was poorly handled, but kind of neat if that was the case.

wedding, thank you. I called the vet today and I can get him in at 11:30 tomorrow if needed. I think he’s on the mend, though. He ate a bunch of grass outside which I was trying to stop him from doing, but I think he needed it to help puke again. Of course, he crawled under our bed and vomited a ton right before the sitter came, but then seemed to feel better. He finally ate again once we got home and is acting much more normal. Hoping we’re on the tail end of it.

Finally checking in today. Early this morning I was consumed with the hearing and mostly on the politics board lurking. I watched for 30 minutes and couldn’t do anymore watching cuz I was yelling at the TV. Went to a closing sale at a furniture store that most things were already sold. Then spent wayyyyy too much time and money at the Dillard’s sale, but I got my mom a birthday gift, a few Christmas gifts for family, and a few things for myself since my birthday is coming up. I’m currently at the coin laundry waiting on my load to finish washing. Our washer officially tanked on us, so I’m waiting on the part come in so it can be fixed. I need to call a guy to see how much he would charge us to put it in before we try ourselves. I don’t want to have to deal with it. I don’t know if this has been resolved or anything but the service call I would have had to pay for someone to just LOOK at my dryer was $100. I’m sure it would have been double, at least, for them to fix it.

Hey. Nothing too exciting happened for me today. Mostly just hung around the house. S and I ran to ace hardware so I could get some plant fertilizer (it’s really close to my house) and she caused a huge scene because she wanted me to hold her and I told her no. Kids are fun. While I was there I found out they sell Ben Moore paint, which I had no idea they did. I picked up a few paint chips of pale pink to look at for my front door while we were there. I had to work tonight and that was fine, nothing too exciting happened. I got a wild hare after I got home and pulled out a bunch of clothes out of my closet to donate or toss. I probably could do more but this is a good start. Of course my allergies are now driving me crazy from all the dust in the closet. I’m going to give it a good dusting and vacuum tomorrow.

We are having a little fall party next weekend and I'm so excited as I look at all the decorations and delicious food! I just found a three ingredient recipe for fall cookies. The kids and I are going to make them tomorrow afternoon. I’ll pass it along to you if it works! ETA: Actually, I’ll just post it here in case anybody wants it. They seem to be in the same vein as @flamingos Red Velvet Valentine’s Day cookies. This is one of our favorite recipes! They're so good, actually MH's favorite cookies!

I tried calling a guy that was highly recommended on next door that may have just been able to do the labor, but the number was no good. Guess I’ll be fixing it myself. 😒

I took the day off and truly did nothing but tv and sleep. I'm doing a garage sale on Saturday with the neighborhood. Things are mostly priced for last year. I just need to put it out and get cash. MH is going to a hockey game tomorrow evening so I'm solo prepping. We really need a date night! What does “priced for last year” mean?

I put stickers on for last year's sake and then put them in the basement when they didn't sell
