Vacation was nice. We drove down Thursday and hung out at my Uncle's house. Got back to the hotel and the kids were wired. Needless to say bedtime was much later than normal every day. K ended up in bed with us because she was in the coldest part of the room.

Friday we hung out at the hotel until a little before lunch then went to my Uncle's. We are and then went to my cousin's place at the lake and enjoyed some time on a boat. C got to ride on a tube on the back of the boat. The first time they fell off and he didn't want to try again. Then after a while we talked him into it and drove the boat slowly. We eventually worked up to going faster and he had a blast. Back to my uncle's for dinner and played some kickball and volleyball. Another late night though.

Saturday we did Jack in the box for lunch (we need one of these up north) and then went to a ranch where we did a wagon ride and fed animals. There was a storm approaching as we finished and got in the car before it poured. Back to my uncle's for dinner and a fire with smores and mountain pies! Better bedtime, haha.

I've made this week's breakfasts, cleaned up, gone through all the toys in DS room. Now I'm folding laundry, and then E and I will go to the pool for a bit. Then nap time and to my parents for dinner. DS &DH come home tomorrow.

Mmm jack in the box was the best drunk food in college. My roommate, who is also vegetarian, and I used to think the tacos were vegetarian so we would eat them. I just googled it and it looks like they do have some beef in them. Oops.

Pizzaslut I'm sorry for all the sleep problems! I personally love the Precious Little Sleep website. She has a blog and a podcast that addresses all kinds of sleep issues, even for our kid's age. If you have time, you should browse there and there is also a fb group by the same name that you can join and the community there is really really helpful with advice and troubleshooting sleep problems. I really hope J gets over this soon (Ava went through it too, but I won't tell you how long it took us to get her over it, it took way too long, haha) and goes back to the sleep is good club. +1 to precious little sleep. And the book comes out this month. To join the fb group now you have to fill out a form/quiz on the website.

I'm going to need a refresher of everything before this new one gets here.

Is it really necessary to go to the doctor for a broken pinkie toe?
That's what I get for letting Little wear snow boots in July.

I am dragging today. We've been on call for a neighbor who was pregnant in case she went into labor in the middle of the night and needed someone to watch her toddler. We got the call at 3:30am and not much sleeping happened after that. Her ILs who supposedly could be there in 2 hours didn't get there until 8am and I'm exhausted. Excited to meet her new little one though!
After that we rolled right into hosting good friends who moved away but were back in town visiting. We had 5 kids age 4 and under here and the kids had a blast together. We broke out the water table and the sprinkler and made a mess eating watermelon outside. It was so good to see everyone.
The twins are now sleeping and Abigail missed her nap window so she's just laying in her crib talking to herself. Maybe it will be early to bed for her tonight.
Contemplating taking everyone to the pool after dinner but that may be pushing it too much. We'll see. It is a perfect day for swimming.

If it looks straight and you can move it, tape it to the toe next to it and accept that it'll hurt like a bitch for a while. I'm sorry. Ice, tylenol, and elevating it should help.

Omg. DH's uncle and his family were on the United plane that caught fire while landing in Denver. The pics and video he posted are unreal; there's a picture going around of a girl in a pink sweatshirt running from the plane, that's DH's cousin. We just talked to them and they're all ok but understandably shaken up. I'm so relieved they're alright.

J had some loose poops today (after being a little constipated last night) fell asleep on me 30 minutes early, and then transitioned right into the bed. I'm hoping that he is just really tired and not getting sick. I don't trust my luck though.

booarogue I see we had similar days today. Are you as exhausted as I am?! lol. I spent about 6 hours weeding and I feel dead to the world. I turned on the sprinkler and DH just popped in and said "don't worry about the sprinkler! I turned it off for you" LOL. I wasn't worried. In fact if he hadn't have mentioned it, it probably would've gone on another 2 day run. Next time, I am going to set an alarm!

Just to keep you all updated. I managed to get E back in his bed at 9:30, asleep. So at this point we are doing better than last night. I asked DH to do the wake ups if there are any but he's currently out in the garage so....
Can it be molars doing this? I'm kinda hoping it is, and then we'll get our normal dude back. Oh, he did climb out tonight. I was doing graduated checks and when I went in after the 10 min one he slid out over the side. At least he's smart about how he does it and doesn't hurt himself. Kudos, kid.

skinandbones, I'm sorry about your toe. I hope that ice, Advil and taping it up ease your pain and that it heals quickly. Broken toes hurt!
