Hi girls! My Bio class is kicking my butt. So much work. I’m getting excited about next week. Tuesday is Disneyland for Mickey’s Halloween party. ...And, I’m dating someone. He lives out of state and I am going out to see him next Thursday. Poppy is coming with and I have no idea how to fly with a toddler. I’m thinking I need to check her car seat, stroller, and PNP. Oooooh! We're going to get more details, right? RIGHT!?!?! Ηe is a very good person and has been my friend for a few years. He is a really important emotional support to me, and when I go out there he’s taking me to meet his parents. He has flown here a couple times now to keep me busy so I don’t get too lonely when the kids are away. I’m pretty crazy about him but this dating during/after divorce business is scary as hell.

I was lucky that Mark was the first guy I dated after my divorce. It was easier because we'd known each other since we were kids and I trusted him completely. I don't think it would have been that easy with anyone else. Dating wasn't even on my radar at the time because I was so busy with ballet and work.

We met friends at a play place this morning. S has been a crab since we left so nap time can’t come soon enough. I really need to clean my disaster house so that’s my plan for nap time, hopefully I don’t fall asleep instead.

Hi.
I’m at work again. Having a much better day than yesterday and will probably leave early because we’re slow.
If I leave early enough, I may go home and start cutting in paint in the boys bathroom. Or I could hit up a few stores for my mounted hooks that I need for the mudroom. Decisions.

Goldi, you've been holding out on us! I hope it's a great trip. Does he have kids? Has he met any of your kids yet or will this meeting with P be a first?

A few of the girls met him briefly when we were there on our trip because he took me to the airport. But we were just friends at the time so IDK if anyone really remembers him since there wasn’t anything interesting going on yet. 😂 No basement, he lives on his own and I am staying at his house with Miss P. We’re only going Thursday-Sunday this time.

Hi all. Yesterday I laid on the couch with a heating pad because of cramps. I'm 38 years old and you'd think my body would be used to a little blood shed...idk every 21-28 days!...but alas cramps were so bad i had to call in sick for work. It was a nice quiet day and besides my uterus feeling like it was stabbed, I napped, sat in silence and cuddled with my cats.
I'm better today, so back at work.

Goldi, you've been holding out on us! I hope it's a great trip. Does he have kids? Has he met any of your kids yet or will this meeting with P be a first? Never married, no kids. He has very briefly met X and P, since they are young enough that they aren’t bothered by seeing someone new. We definitely don’t think Atticus is ready for that meeting yet. He was pretty much thinking he would just be a bachelor for life, but I guess there’s been a recalibration and he says he really loves the idea of being around my kids and becoming part of a family unit. 🤷♀️

Josie has been taking the bus in the morning. It’s about a 10 minute ride, and she told me today that she would like to create a pattern where I drive for one day and she takes the bus the next because the bus is sloth- like. I may give in to this. Happy baby day, tallb! I’m leaning girl, too! Nice, cagoldi! Super exciting news! Enjoy the trip!

cagoldi , that's super exciting! As to the travelling with the toddler bit, if you don't want to bring everything, most major cities have baby rental places for pretty reasonable prices where you can get a crib and stuff so you don't have to lug it there. Or if you think you are going to be heading there much, you could buy a cheap pack and play at amazon or target.com and have it shipped there. That's what I did w/ car seats for Florida since we go there a lot, I just had them sent to my brothers house. Good luck with the flight! I'll reiterate what others said... Snacks and drinks are key. They say for take off and landing to make them suck on something (paci if she uses one, or just a sippy cup if not) Edit to Add - and a change of clothes for both her and you on the plane... brought to you from the great diarrhea travel incident of 2015. He fell asleep on me and pooped through ALL his clothes and all down my legs. Super fun.

S has been all about patterns lately and actually suggested we do a pattern for drop off where 1 day it's car line and the next we park and walk up.

That's exciting cagoldi! I hope you have a great trip! My H was not the first guy I dated after my divorce. Everyone is different, but make sure you give yourself time to get over all the emotions of your marriage ending. Getting involved with someone quickly can help hide those emotions, but at some point, they have to be dealt with. Not that you haven't, everyone handles it differently. But it was just something I learned about myself that I wish I had known so I could have given myself more time and not hurt someone in the meantime.

Our school discourages walking the kids into their rooms after the first day. Lack of parking, harder for kids to transition, etc. I didn't even do it on the first day, lol...#MOTY. Thankfully B seems pretty happy on the K bus. Exciting cagoldi, hope y'all have a fun time together! I skipped MOPS yesterday and am currently debating whether I should sign up again. The meetings are Monday mornings so with B's speech we will be hustling to get there, then I'll have to leave after an hour to get him home to meet the bus. So IDK. Right now I have my eye on the prize (moving) and this fall is going to be crazy busy so I feel like I don't 'need' it, but I know I'll miss some of the ladies and the Friday night get-togethers if nothing else. I hate being halfway-committed to something...like I want to be all in or not at all...so I guess that is why I'm having trouble accepting being a member mostly in name only.

I don't walk her to the classroom, just to the cafeteria where all the classes wait in the morning. Now that we know which drop off is the calmest and feeds directly into the cafeteria I thought she would be more willing, but nope. Maybe once I switch her to the booster and there isn't the stress of trying to get her unbuckled.

So he can easily buckle and unbuckle himself.

Most of his friends had switched a while ago and he had been begging but I kept saying no. Then MH got a new car and so when he installed the car seat he installed it like that, but even so, he is not often in his car. But after a few weeks we decided to switch him in my car too. He mostly listens and sits properly and the one time he leaned all the way forward in the seat while driving I told him that this was his one warning and the next time he did it we would switch his seat back to the harness. He has not done that since.

Our situation was much easier b/c both of our seats just changed into the high back belted booster. So all we needed to do was pull out the harness and we install the seat. Are you sure your seats don't convert?

M's is just a booster seat. No back. I'd be fine with the high back one. My MIL has had that one in her car for awhile.

We have both. There is the high back booster in H's car, that we've used for awhile now. My Jeep has a booster, since that's how her car seat converted. She uses both with the grandparents as well.
THANK GOD to not having to help buckle her in anymore.
