I have almost bought those ae sweatshirts like 5 times but for some reason haven't done it yet. I might have to purchase as well!
I have a super old Old Navy sweatshirt that I wear a lot and I have a few Lou and Grey (Loft) that I like as well.

Hugs jewels. I can imagine being from that part of the country you had a lot of 'connections'. It's a sad day...seems like a long time ago, and yet not that long, simultaneously.

Also, I am struggling today. Thankfully I did not know anyone who died but being where I am (large NYC commuter population) I have a number of tangentially related people (like friends of friends) and people that have close stories (supposed to be at work in the towers but called out sick, etc.) My facebook feed is full of stories and memories and I went into the post on GD and started crying at my desk so I had to exit. I can't even fathom how hard today is for so many people. IT baffles my mind that we are already 18 years removed from this and it really feels like just yesterday. Hugs jewels. I've been in a funk all week, really since a couple weeks ago when we inadvertently checked a book out of the library that had a 9/11 tie-in. Chase is clueless of course but Colin has been talking about it a bit, asking questions, expressing interest in visiting and seeing the memorial. His interest is very sweet but I can't think or hear about 9/11 without mentally returning to that day, you know?

I haven't discussed it with S yet and today is "Red White and Blue" Day at school. As he was getting dressed he asked why there were so many patriotic days, and why today and I froze and didn't tell him anything. I just don't know how to explain something to him that I can't even understand. And I don't want to scare him, but I want to make sure he is educated. It is all so complicated.

He told me to get him the flu shot ASAP. I know my pedi doesn't have it yet. I wonder if the immunologist will have any tomorrow.

trtlcrzy, glad everyone is ok! tallb Happy anniversary! Is this dating anniversary or marriage? How many years? It's our wedding - 9 years. We knew we wanted early September but not labor day and the dates worked out this way. We have had several people over the years mention they are glad to have a happy memory tied to such a depressing date. I didn't invite work friends and felt badly, but one guy friend said they wouldn't have come bc his FIL died in the Pentagon💔 It does feel like yesterday, my freshman roommate was from Manhattan and her little brother couldn't get ahold of anyone except to our dorm room, and I told him that his parents were okay, who worked downtown. I am not prepared for j asking questions about it..

I’m sorry you’re having a hard time returning to those memories, joelies and @hewels. It hadn’t even occurred to me they could be discussing it in school yet. 💔

Josie said they had a moment of silence this morning but she didn’t really know what for. It’s a strange feeling to know it was so long along and what feels like worlds away from what my life was like then and yet have the hours of that morning are so detailed and etched into my memory forever. It was my second year (first full year) teaching and being so close to the city it was heartbreaking to watch kids be pulled out of class to find out if their parents were okay.

No baby yet🤞. I met the new doctor to the practice who literally just finished her residency and was relieved that she seems quite lovely. She said don't feel bad scheduling inducement and that 39 weeks is a sweet spot for the baby and that inducing is often good for the baby from some recent studies. I don't know why but at least made me feel less selfish for scheduling one for convenience. Curious how big the baby is, the sonogram tech pointed out some fat rolls, which my other two never had!

Glad you’re feeling better about it. We scheduled X for 39w1d so he would not get as big as Atticus. It was great. The study she mentioned came out when I was pregnant with Poppy, and had we gotten that far, I would have absolutely scheduled at 39 again. FX for a smooth baby day!

Just bought Cadence's Daisy vest and the basic pins, first meeting is next Tuesday. We'll see how she likes it. Maybe it will help her attitude!

The total ended up being 3 EF2 tornados last night in the city. Crazy. Last time there was a tornado in the city was 30 years ago.
I was in 8th grade during 9/11. The impact hasn’t been as hard on us because we are so far away distance wise. It’s still very sad and something to keep sharing with future generations. I asked H if they talked about it at school and she said no.

I’ve been down the Asian skincare spiral, Soko glam is a good simple website that actually has a pdf to download which I printed out and wrote what products to use at each step that i keep with my products. sokoglam.com/pages/the-korean-skin-care-routine

I’m not sure how comfortable I am with kindergartners having a lesson about 9/11 unless 90% of it involves the paramedics, firefighters, etc. We’ll see what Dude says tonight.
