I ended up spending most of my day cleaning and doing laundry. I invited H’s friend to come over to play for a while this afternoon. The girls had fun but of course there was some sister bickering/jealousy issues.

The PTO coordinator for room moms pretty much said that I wasn't chosen because she heard I worked. I'm pretty frustrated by the whole thing.

I don’t agree with the “you have a job” part cuz the moms That did it at M’s last school had jobs. Maybe try again next year . With a newborn and your drop off/pick up schedule, it may have worked out for the best this year. Just my two cents.

So I think I was also judged for sending my kids to a sitter since I work from home....

You can always volunteer for any activities you want to assist with without being stuck on the PTO.

peachsmama that sounds like a scene, maybe good to have dodged that bullet if they are that catty about stuff like that. I'm a class mom at our daycare/preschool, but clearly everyone works since it's affiliated with my employer. I'd have no time for mommy wars or drama like that.

Had our first double pickup fire drill. I left my phone in the car at pickup and took my time chatting as usual...then I get back in the car and mh had texted me at 5:10 that he hadn't left and may need me to get j.. it's 5:30 this point. We both are now on the road racing to school and both arrive at 6:15.. he was thrilled that we all picked him up, but I did not enjoy that. Mh needs to make sure he's out of the office faster, alerts me earlier if he is late, and I need to leave a bit more cushion, have my phone with me, and maybe not chitchat for 20 min at pickup.

All of our new doors are now installed....but now I'll need to replace the shutters because they don't go with the front door. Ha ha ha! I feel like this is going down the If You Give A Mouse A Cookie path...

peachsmama don’t let that get you down. You can still talk with the teacher and do things in the class during the day. You may not have the title but you’ll still get to help the class

My sister's SIL posted this long fb post about how her daughter started preschool and was so annoyed by all the crying kids (first day being dropped off) and kept saying they were a bunch of babies and needed to shut up. Guess who's in the same class and was crying at drop off? L! Ugh. Your SIL Sister should have never posted that. It’s bad her kid said that but it’s worse that she felt the need to shame other kids plus it kind of puts her kid in a bad light too.

I feel like this is going down the If You Give A Mouse A Cookie path... Pretty much. We've wanted new shutters for awhile and thought about doing it with this project, but then we ended up spending a crap load more than we wanted to because of the baseboards and all that. I think I could get my BIL to make us some.
