Hi!! I need to get back in here. I miss our little board. I just haven't really had the mental capacity for posting lately. I have been following along though when I can.
I can't believe our babies are turning one....

Is anyone else's LO like a little tornado right now? Dd's favorite thing to do is open drawers/cupboards/boxes and throw whatever is in there EVERYWHERE. I had a little cry yesterday evening from trying to keep my house picked up, keep both girls from climbing on everything, and I burnt dinner and dd2 dumped a whole bag of cut up ham all over the kitchen. This isn't going to change until they move out huh? 😣

brenna OMG 100% yes!!! It's insane. I take him to this Toy Park almost daily though. I feel like it really feeds his need to touch everything. It's literally a bunch of push toys, bikes, cars, etc for kids to play with and keeps them busy for hours. Plus it's fenced in an has swings.

brenna C is into everything, he puts everything in his mouth and isn't happy unless he's allowed to crawl around freely. He just last night figured out he can take steps holding the walker! His balance is getting good, wouldn't be surprised if we see first steps i the next few weeks.

Dd1 is showing dd2 how to get into everything and climb on everything and it's driving me crazy! Dd2 thinks she can do everything that dd1 does (like standing and balancing on the rocking foot rest for her glider) and we've had a lot of bumps and bruises.

BUT he can't get hurt playing with it, he can't break it, and it keeps him busy so I've been just letting him go for it.

Today is my DD's birthday!! We all woke her up this morning singing Happy Birthday with balloons and then we went out for birthday breakfast. We're having a small family party for her tomorrow.
I spent some time last night reading her birth story and looking at all the photos from when she was born. It was such an exciting time. Waiting for baby to arrive, having such a powerful and positive birth experience, meeting her and finding out we had a little girl, DS becoming a big brother and the lovey, dovey, snuggly newborn phase 💗
I can't believe my baby's not a "baby" anymore, but it's been a hell of a year. The past six or seven months have been quite challenging for me. So, as much as I'm sad to say goodbye to the baby year, part of me is also kinda glad to see it go. I'm feeling hopeful that year two is going to bring some brighter days ❤️

DS then DD came down with nasty stomach bug last night. I was up all night catching puke for each of them. Ugh. I'm so scared to catch this.

Thanks guys. So far, I’m doing ok. But I’m terrified that I could still get it. The kids seem to be done puking now. It was insane. I let DD have lime green cereal before bed the night before and OMG! It was like a scene from exorcist! Bright green puke everywhere. Later in the day she had some red pedialyte then projectile vomited that all over me and sleeping DS and the couch. DS couldn’t keep any nursing sessions down. He’d immediately vomit it all back up as soon as he was done. He was so sad and pathetic. You could tell he was hurting. I’m just glad it was short lived and they are feeling better this morning.

I just feel bad for DD because this was her Fall break and we had lots of plans. But between my car problems and this bug, we’ve missed out on a lot. 😪

WWYD: I'm supposed to get together with a friend tomorrow. Her youngest had HFM fairly recently. It's been two weeks since it started and he's already been back in daycare, but he still has some of the fading rash on his legs. Should I worry about it?
I don't have any experience with this stuff!

I feel like if they let him back in daycare then it's probably fine. I think daycares are usually pretty strict about not letting kids back until they won't spread it to everyone.

Usually schools have the rule of the blisters being healed over before school or I’ve heard of some just say no fever for 24hours even with HfM. The marks stay for a really long time. Way after it’s healed. I personally didn’t do play dates for two weeks after the fever. But that was because they were at the age of diaper changes AND sharing toys in mouth and drooling. They say that HFM can still stay in saliva and fecal matter up to 2-3 weeks. Doesn’t mean it will though. Sounds like he’s past contagious period.
