Oh no pixiepink24! You'd think after all this time you'd have been ok. Hope it clears up quickly! Right?! I think I was just being lazy with my reusable pads and bras. Plus we've been nursing a lot. I feel like the meds are helping though so hopefully back to norm soon.

Just went to get laundry out of the washer and I had accidentally grabbed a diaper out of the diaper bag with the girls' clothes and it exploded in the wash! HUGE mess! I guess my washer probably needed a cleaning anyways but it's not exactly what I want to do on my Saturday night... I have done this as well, it is the worst.

We had ABel's EI evaluation today and it really stressing me out. He qualified for services which I wasn't expecting, we did the evaluation as a formality, all infants that undergo major surgery should be evaluated. To me he seems to be doing so great I wasn't worried about it at all.
He's not walking independently yet but has been cruising furniture and pulling himself up since about 8 months old (and has been crawling longer) however they still seemed concerned.
They also mentioned a few things like, he can't use an open cup yet, he loses interest too quickly and that he puts whatever is handed to him immediately into his mouth and instead of exploring it more first (he is teething so they said that may be all that's going on there)
There was a lot more that has me stressed out, they said he tested as below average cognitively which really surprised me, I thought he seemed very smart and inquisitive. I am feeling a little overwhemled and have found my self pulling all his cognitive toys to the front of his play room and googling ways to work on cognitive skills at home. I just want this kid to have an easier year two of life.

All of the things your ds are doing sounds normal to me, but I'm obviously not an expert so I guess at least it can't hurt to get a little therapy to help him out. At dd's 9 month appointment they recommended speech therapy and I was so stressed/worried/felt like I was not doing enough, etc. We ended up deciding to wait for awhile but I'm sure it wouldn't have hurt to get her evaluated but it would have been $$$.

@meggriffen sorry your stressed. It has to be shocking when you think it’s a formality. Some of those things shocked me too. I didn’t know drinking from an open cup was a thing this young. But whatever they do isn’t going to hurt him, just make him stronger.

They said he qualified for communication, he says mama, dada and tries really hard to mimic other things we say like touch down- but he isnt saying the actual words. I can't believe they wanted to start speech therapy at 9 months, that seems so early.

Most of what you listed sounds advanced for his age. DS1 stated walking at 13 1/2 months and his ped was not concerned when he wasn't walking at his 1 year appt.

Awww, I love all the updates!
C suddenly started sleeping through the night and I don't know what to do with myself. I'm assuming it's temporary like it usually is, but a girl can dream, right? Two nights he slept from 9-6:45 (I woke him to nurse before I went to work) and last night he woke once at 12 and was still asleep at 7:30 when I left for work. He's standing by himself for longer periods and I think he's going to try and take a step soon. He loves to sing along with us or the radio (he does a pretty good Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin lol) and is very demanding when he eats. We went to an Italian restaurant last week and he kept screaming for more when I was feeding him too slowly or not sharing my food. Doesn't matter how much food he has, if you have something he doesn't, he'll pterodactyl-shriek at you until you give him some! He was mad the other day that I didn't share my coffee with him...

Independent walking happens between 9 and 16 months on average. My niece wasn't recommended for PT until she was 18 months and not yet walking. It could be they just are being extra aggressive with supports because of his medical needs and they don't want him to fall behind. You are doing great and if he didn't have medical challenges, I doubt they would be recommending all that stuff. Speech, PT, etc will only help and cannot hurt!

If it makes you feel better my DS is doing all the same things as your DS except he just started pulling up on things and isn't even cruising yet. He didnt even crawl until 10 months old. You're doing great 💙

DS turned 1 today. I did a impromptu photo shoot as evidenced by the wrinkled blanket but whatever.

You are most definitely not failing him and you are doing everything you need to be doing. He will do great!

It's all kind of crazy how we are getting close to one year. I keep having a lot of memories of all the shit from last year. I hate it. While I want to celebrate my son, it was a really difficult time in my life, not to mention the unexpected birth. I hope it gets easier with time.

Thank you all this is my tough kid for sure. The little guy has croup, he turned blue on us and he was life flighted to Boston Children's Hospital on Friday, they admitted him for the weekend but after steroids and a lot of pain management he is doing much better.

I had a nice long weekend mostly off my phone and a busy day at work today so I'm finally catching up. My S'18 little guy's birthday was Thursday then our DS1 turned 3 on Friday. I spent Thursday hanging out with my little then MH and I took the big to a local fair while the little went to daycare. I can't believe my baby isn't a baby anymore! PDQ Pic

Dd1 brought home a cold from her first week of preschool and spread it to everyone in our house and dd2 got hit the worst. I think she possibly might have 2-4 teeth coming in too so she's been crying and clinging on to me for the past few days 😟 I'm not excited for all the germs we'll be getting from preschool ugh.

Germs from school/daycare are the worse brenna. DS2 seems to be handling it ok for the most part so far **knock on wood** but DS1 was hit hard with frequent colds. I've heard it can take 2 years to get passed this - it will be 2 years in January and he seems to be getting more resilient finally.

Happy birthday to your guys Nymeria! On daycare germs M was constantly sick during the school year until she was around 2. As soon as we went back full time P got sick. So hopefully she can handle the germs....
