Yikes Mama Wine! It must be bad for the kids to notice and comment on it. My grandparents were always this way and I definitely noticed. I used to tell my mom I wanted to know what it felt like to be the favorite..... they did not hide it at all. |

Only the 2nd day of aftercare and they lost my child. I have no idea how long she was lost, but I got a call an hour after afterschool started. So they ask me her teachers name and blah blah blah. Let me call the school and I'll call you back. They call me back and oh, we found her now.
WTAF????
So apparently they are separated into groups and Cadence went with the wrong group. They called her name and she just didn't respond. 🤨
She wanted to play with her friend in Group 1 and not her friends in Group 2. Not cool, kid, not cool. That's what we call giving mommy a heart attack.
During all of this I text mh and his response was "aww man". Your kid is lost and that's all you can say?!?!! SERIOUSLY?

Oh, they looked, but none of the kids owned up to being Cadence or knowing Cadence, not even Cadence. I told her she needs to make sure to keep her listening ears on, even after school is done. |

Hi ladies. I took the last 2 days off sick, which I never do. It's sad that it was nice to be sick and have an excuse for low-key days. My ear is still really swollen but I think the ABX are slowly getting at it. Thanks for the well wishes. Tonight is Cass' "Kindergarten round-up"--whatever that means. Maddie said she thinks they'll corral them like cows. Sounds plausible. I think that's probably the struggle for 76% of K. Maddie is anxious to find out who her teacher is. They wait until the last minute--presumably so you can't complain/try to change it. I just hope their teachers don't give HW. I loath being responsible for it so young. Sorry you weren’t feeling well. We got something the first day of school saying homework will be assigned next week. 😱 IDK what that means other than, “they can’t even read yet, so homework for them = homework for you. Not thrilled. Our homework has been read the ABC book to us each night and trace the number worksheets or similar number identification. Our class is split early fall birthdays and summer birthdays so some are learning that stuff and others are getting a refresher. Oh and E has a girl in his class that doesn't speak English |

T has been on the couch with a low fever all day. As much as this sucks, I feel better that DD didn’t have some life threatening mystery disease last week. We are heading to the beach in a half hour when DD gets done with practice. It’s going to be sorta cold for the beach this week but hopefully T will recover quickly and we can have one last week of fun. I need to not let my impending return to work ruin it.

I am really hoping for no homework. It’s not necessary for these little ones who have been in school all day. I’m all for reading, but no worksheets, please.

Hi! Just checking in now. Went to a sweet petting zoo and fruit orchard today. The raspberries looked pretty frizzled but the peaches were perfect. I have a whole bunch of them that I want to turn into muffins tomorrow!

Hi! Just checking in now. Went to a sweet petting zoo and fruit orchard today. The raspberries looked pretty frizzled but the peaches were perfect. I have a whole bunch of them that I want to turn into muffins tomorrow! That place becomes a complete zoo by mid-September. We always stop by to pick up freshly picked apples but the lines are too long on the weekends to actually pick them ourselves. They have a huge corn pit and apple cider donuts so the kids have never complained about missing out. |

We were thinking about going back for apple picking but maybe will just go for all the extras and leave the apple picking to the smaller orchards around here. |

It either says Car rider or the name of his after care facility. I guess the teachers stick them on the kids at line up and that’s how the other teachers/aides know who goes where. |

That sucks wineallthetime. My MIL favors my nieces over C and it’s pretty obvious to me but he hasn’t noticed yet. I think she favors girls in general. Do you think that’s your moms issue? Is she more into L? |

The kids are at Pete’s so I’m batch cooking like crazy, getting ready for X’s party Saturday, doing homework, and heading out to do a trial Pure Barre class.

She has tags on her backpack saying where she goes. My first thought is that someone didn't read her tag and she was in the car pick up hall or something, but nope. I went in to change clothes after bedtime and laid down, and now am up 2 hours later. We have company coming tomorrow night, so need to straighten up a bit. We stayed til 6 tonight bc N was playing with J on the big playground, and one our best friend's (kid and mom) had their last day. N moves up after naptime and her new teacher said they are baking cookies and we're going to make GF for all since N is, but I insisted on bringing in some gf cookie dough (that I have in the fridge) for her. He's so thoughtful to just make it entirely gf.
Guess I should eat something for dinner too..

Is she more into L? Oh that sucks. Nope, she isn't into L or my other niece. It's all very odd, especially since I'm super close with my mom and C was the first grandchild. She was obsessed with him until my sister had her first. I thought at first it was just because she was a baby and my mom loves babies, but L was born 5 months later and my mom rarely held her or anything because she was so focused on my niece. |
