Morning ladies! Flight went good. Kids both napped for a bit. We arrived 23.30pm us time, but 5.30am our time... which basically means that aside from a nap we all lost a night and now have to stay awake for a whole freaking day. It’s going to be a very very long day.

Good morning! We got back from the lake yesterday. I have so many jars of fresh sauce! We’re taking the kids to the children’s museum today and then to Dairy Queen. I’ve had it once in my life (the August I was pregnant with Josie),but the commercials always make me want it. Otherwise, it feels like the summer is slipping away and I’m trying to walk this fine line between, “Get everything ready” and “Screw it all; it’s still summer!”

Welcome home nam2013! Naps for your entire family today! guster you have eaten Dairy Queen once in your life? How is this possible? Is there not one close to you? We have it once a week! I like to try different blizzards, H always gets mint oreo. I really like the one with chocolate ice cream and brownie pieces. So good. Morning ladies. Fridgegate 2019 continues. I met a guy yesterday afternoon who told me he thinks is the evaporator coil, which I'm pretty sure has already been replaced. The guy said he wanted to bring another tech back when he repairs it. 5 minutes after he left, the office called to see when another tech could come by who is more knowledgable about out fridge. Uh, I told you it was a Kitchenaid when I made the damn appointment. So I'll be meeting them again this afternoon. I did move everything that could spoil to the beer fridge yesterday afternoon. It's fun going down to the garage for milk, coffee cream, etc.

morning all!
Not sure if I updated or not, but my work trip to Boston went well. I was gone for 2 nights but got to get some good sleep. I also got to see my college roommate 2 times while I was there which was awesome cuz I haven't seen her in like 6 or 7 years.
This week we have our big company meetings at the new company where people are in from all our locations. I still feel like the new kid so it's sort of weird, and my boss is making me go to the dinner tonight with 22 other people who are all senior in the company. Oh and all except 1 who are attending are men. I am very much not looking forward to that.
In other news, S has been complaining a lot about his mouth and throat hurting. I was concerned about strep but we finally took him to the dr and it turns out he has post nasal drip.

Poor S, jewels. When we’ve dealt with postnasal drip, I’ve been advised to try a little Benadryl at night as it dries out everything so there’s nothing left to get into the throat. mwhip, you’re being very patient about this. I hope there’s a quick and inexpensive fix. As for dairy queen, no, there was never one around me. We ended up driving out to a different babies R us back in the day, and happened to see it. I know I had one with vanilla cream and Reese’s peanut butter cups, but mint or coffee are my go to’s. I will definitely give it a try today.

Going to the splash pad today and meeting some other moms there. Hoping for a nice day. We'll see if my kids are on board.
I nicked my finger with a butter knife but judging by the blood- you would think I cut the damn thing off. so.much.blood. and MJ threw up on my sheets so I'm just cleaning like crazy and trying to hurry so I can get the picnic lunch made for today.

The dr also said to give him 2 pillows so we did that as well. For his throat (which was also inflamed) they told us to use a throat spray which I knew he would hate. I asked my pharmacist about alternatives and he gave me these. OMG S was so excited... "You mean I get to have a lollipop!!!!!" I highly recommend them if any of you have a kid with a sore throat.

So B is almost completely dairy free (he seems to be fine with 1 serving of yogurt or cheese per day). I have been trying to give him lactose free milk or Almond Milk but he does not seem to want it (I honestly think he remembers the awful cramping he got from drinking milk). Anyway, I am trying to come up with creative ways to get calcium in him and decided on smoothies. I figure he might drink some lactose free milk that way and/or some spinach. He still loves pouches (it's how I get 90% of his veggies in him) so I figure the smoothies would be a hit. Any tried and true smoothie recipes out there? I think I remember guster? Do your kids drink smoothies? Cher I know you don't go here much anymore but I remember your kids were all about the smoothies, any good, quick ones?

Cadence started kindergarten today 😭😭😭
I didn't cry. And the breakfast in the library after drop off was nice. The parents from the playdate was there, so familiar faces. It'll be a good year.

Hi ladies! Making an early lunch then attempting back to school shopping with all 4. Everyone needs sneakers and at least one new outfit for the first day. Even baby C needs a lunch box and back pack for the sitter’s house. I have so much to do in the next 3 days if I want to be able to relax at the beach next week. I have to pull all my teaching stuff down for the attic and go through it, do lesson plans for the first week, figure out how I’m going to have food in the house for that first week, and get all 4 kids ready for their start.

Hey! MIL text me at 11 asking if she could take the girls to the park and return them at 1. I said sure, made them lunches and away they went. I showered and painted my nails while they were gone. I’m working on nap now, and I’m not sure what we will do this afternoon. Tonight is open house at H’s school and she’s very excited about going. I’m glad you made it home safe and sound nam2013. Tonight will be the best night of sleep in weeks.

Ugh Day Care called a few minutes ago. B is projectile vomiting. What is it with this kid?? Thankfully MH is home today but of course he leaves tomorrow again. I'm praying it's a quick one but man I hate this. For me, this is literally the worst part of parenting, and I am so bad at it.

kim22 any chance a little internet shopping can help you out?! Probably with things like the lunch box. DD is like me and is very picky with how clothes fit so generally it’s faster to just have her try them on in the store. T requested sneakers with no black, blue, or gray so he ended up with the world’s reddest Nike’s. DD wants sneakers with no logos. Are those even a thing? I did get myself 7 new dresses for work. My goal is by the time I wear them in the spring again, I will no longer appear pregnant in them.

Sorry, we’re just getting back and settled. jewels, I always do a banana and non-dairy milk (bc my kids don’t like cow’s milk). Then I add either a leafy green or frozen cauliflower, and usually some peanut/nut butter. I have in the past thrown in pouches too. Most of the time it adds the sweetness and not the taste of whatever vegetable is included in the pouch. Charlie will drink it like that, but Josie likes me to add berries to it.

Hope it was a good first day for C, @klongoria. Her picture was super cute. tallb, that sounds delish. I got the mint, mh got a peanut butter snickers pie one, and m&m for the kids to split. It was good, but I wanted to be blown away and I wasn’t. It’s good to know that I can satisfy an ice cream craving with a trip to the frozen aisle of the grocery store instead of 40 minutes away to DQ. The museum was adorable. Very bare-bones but in a good way. Like each room had one or two things in it that the kids really had to use their creativity to make something fun. Like these great big foam blocks that could build a playground. So fun. Then we found the most wonderful little breakfast and lunch place nearby. I had eggs Benedict but instead of an English muffin, it was a crabcake and sautéed spinach. So good!

Gluck kim22 that sounds exhausting. I think going to the store is sometimes more fun for kids and then less returns to mail back. I hadn't thought about a first day of school outfit...and his shoes are relatively new. Hmm.
