Anybody else dealing with biting or has in the past? DD was not a biter, so this is new territory. He's actually been like this for a while, but he has bit me at least 5 times in the last hour. He'll bite you anywhere-knees, toes, shoulder, arm. He's also biting the chairs and couch. I'm sure it's teething related, but still. I've been picking him up and holding him at my eye level and saying "no bite" sternly. And then...he laughs. Every single time. 🤦♀️. What else can I do?

She will mouth the furniture sometimes so I thought that is what she was doing. I yelled ow then I scared her. 🙄

I knew our weekend was going to be busy, but it took an expected turn yesterday.
What was supposed to be a quick trip to urgent care for antibiotics for DS3's ear infection, turned into a 5 hour trip, including 2.5 hours at the ER.
The UC doctor was concerned about his breathing so she sent us to the ER for monitoring. I told her I hadn't noticed breathing issues or congestion the last few days and it just seemed to start whenever the fever spiked.
The ER doc was a bit confused as to why we were there, but we stayed for monitoring, another RSV/flu swab, and a chest xray. Without me saying anything, he concluded that the rapid respiration was from his fever.
You don't say.
He also thought the one ear looked infected. Huh.
I know I didn't HAVE to go to the ER, but something was clearly wrong with him and getting worse. I may have acted differently if we hadn't already met our deductible for the year, too.
Oh well. He was supposed to have a joint birthday party yesterday afternoon, but we asked DH's family not to come for obvious reasons. We still celebrated my sister's 40th and my nephew's 5th birthday with a "I Dig Being 1" theme. We had all the food and they made the 5.5 hour trip up for the party so it only seemed right. It ended up being a really nice afternoon and evening. Cousins had a great time playing and DS3 slept for hours.

Happy birthday to her klw! Oh man ohreally. I’m sorry he wasn’t feeling well and that whole situation happened. I would’ve done the same. I hope he’s feeling better soon!

I had planned the party theme before knowing my sister would be in town this month. She’s his godmother so I thought it’d be nice to have her at the party. And we had to celebrate her big milestone, too. I even found the perfect construction cone to tie it all together.

We saw 224 people between 11 nurses on Saturday. I'm not sure how many people we actually vaccinated yet. It was crazy. Then we had family pictures that included a lot of walking and both kids wanting to be carried. I'm still not quite fully recovered.
DH really seems to be oblivious to what I need lately. It's come up in conversation and yet he still fucked around outside most of the day yesterday between errands. He has plans for another happy hour this week. In the mean time, I don't remember the last time I had any time to myself outside of work.
I have another 6 day work week with another huge clinic this weekend that's going to involve media coverage.

PennyCandy, That sounds so frustrating to be ignored like that. Can you ask him to cancel his happy hour appearance this week and help you out instead? As ridiculous as it seems, sometimes you just have to be that blunt it get the help you need.

doublestuf not biting yet, but he has started hitting at us or swatting at stuff when he's mad/tired. Especially annoying when he hits a spoonful of food and sends it flying.

doublestuf, lots of biting. Not while nursing, more like he somehow gets the flat part of my chest or my collarbone when I'm holding him. It just adds to our argument that he's part laborador - mouthy puppy sharp teeth! I assume it's teething as well.

Speaking of biting-anybody notice their LO gnawing on the crib? I noticed her doing it once or twice but today she took a big chunk of paint off and now I'm worried about it. I'm assuming the paint is non toxic but still, I don't want her eating paint.

PennyCandy make some plans for yourself and just tell your H this is what I'm doing and leave him with the kids. We all need some time to ourselves.

Pros and cons of vacationing with my ILs... They have been hanging out with Haley in the condo for her morning nap, but OMG they are so slow to get ready when we are going out. 😉

H and I were just talking tonight about how we don't want to go back home and deal with work and all the other "normal life" stuff. His work will be crazy, the car needs to go to the shop, my sister's baby shower is next weekend, etc. Then I start back to work full-time on 8/20. 😭

My husband is the worst dinner date - he gets very focused on the food when it shows up. But I do like going for drinks with him, and just wandering aimlessly around things.

I'm exhausted, but Septemember is looking to be more manageable so it's temporary. I think I can.
Z has entered into the separation anxiety phase. He saw J and I leave for J's classroom this mornkng and put his head on the floor and wailed.
