Overall who do you think had the best performances?
Who do we call, tweet, fb at CNN/DNC to make sure we never have another format like that EVER again?
Other thoughts?

I think overall Warren had the best performance. I think Castro and Booker did well and tbh Kamala could have done a wee bit better.
I wish all the chads would bow out gracefully

I've read a couple of pieces now that have said Biden did a good job and I'm left wondering if they watched the same debate I did.
I'm just...tired. The format was crap and I don't think it did any of the candidates any favors.

I can't comment on Night 1 since I didn't watch, though it sounds like Warren won out.
I think Harris could have done better last night. She didn't do badly, just not as well as debate 1. I don't think Biden did as well as some people are painting. Castro did well, and I think Gabbard got enough jabs in to keep her going because her fanbase is rabid.
ETA: I also think Inslee made a more than solid case for a cabinet post.

As far as Biden any strides he may have made in other peoples minds were wiped out by the JOE 033300003000333 IMO
I feel he stumbled a lot and people are just giving him grace because he's Uncle Joe.

I know before I said the more debates they had the better, but damn if the last two nights didn't kill the sentiment. That was such a mess and I really hope the candidates join forces to work out future debates in a non-maddening format.
Warren definitely pulls ahead for me. Castro and Pete are tied. Kamala held her own, minus the Gabbard entanglement. Booker had a good night. I still do not see why so many are all-in on Joe and Bernie. Their appeal alludes me.

I'm rewatching right now and in the light of day Joe is even worse than I thought. He was a mess.

And this morning we're STILL talking about how to reach far right voters with the dem primary.
Thats NOT what this is about talking heads.
Also they need to quit spinning the narrative they were all at each other. We need to be able to see the nuances between the candidates, but I feel like there was not a lot of personal attacks, especially when you look back at the 2016 clown car. At least nobody said someones dad was responsible for an assassination.

I think this was a good take on Joe’s quip to Kamala.

I was very disappointed to see NPR's headline this morning solely framed around Biden. Can we not?

I think this was a good take on Joe’s quip to Kamala. They asked her about this last night. She wasn't bothered by it and when asked she looked like she didnt even remember it.
And I understand other people being upset but I honestly think it was not intended the way its being spun. They have an outside relationship, it wasn't meant for public consumption.

obv Inslee would make a great EPA administrator but, given the importance of the climate crisis, I think I'd like to see him in a newly created Cabinet position focused exclusively on the climate crisis. The EPA is doing a good job of the science and the research and the regulation, but it would be good to have someone focused JUST on how climate change is affecting us and will affect us, how we make improvements, and to sort of synthesize the administration's response from DHS to EPA to ORR.

Yes! And if we do manage to get anything close to the green new deal passed it needs its own department.

I think I kind of ignored Yang last night (not intentionally) but he really did have a pretty good night.
Bennett was more annoying than I realized last night.

But yes he did a really good job. I just wish he hadn't ended EVERY answer with the 1000 for every adult american.

oh I do not like the way Yang tried to reframe the debate around immigration to focus on merit-based and not "sad stories." I do not like it at all.

Oh now the spin is the democrats turned on Obama.
You know Obama was a great president, but he wasn't infallible and we NEED TO BE ABLE TO ACCEPT CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM of the administration. Because we CAN do better.
ETA
Exhibit A Facing Trump, Democrats turn on another president: Obama

I really need to see some whole-stage shots from last night. I'm dying to see how the other candidates reacted during some of the more high profile moments. Specifically Cory's Kool Aid thing.

So Tulsi said literally nothing last night. She just stood up there and said that there are problems and they need to be fixed oh and also Kamala is police. I'm not hearing a single specific word from her on how to fix these problems. So yeah, real frontrunner there, Twitter idiots.
