I'm listening to the Crooked Media analysis of the debates and these guys are saying just about everything I have been thinking Ugh. Iāve been waiting for them to put out a podcast. I was very annoyed at the gym this morning that I didnāt have anything good to listen to. Guess I will have to go tomorrow now Did you hear Megan Rapinoe say she listens to them at the gym? That made my month.

Right now only 7 are qualified for the next debate: I hope Castro makes the cut. I have a feeling Gabbard will. Ugh. I also want Castro to make the cut. I already donated so not sure what else to do. I don't really feel like Amy is adding anything different to the conversation at this point. I don't see an all female ticket happening and if a male is the presidential nominee, I'd rather have Harris or Warren as a VP candidate anyway. It doesn't really feel urgent for her to advance for me.

I have an important, substantive policy question.
Did an intern spill coffee on Kamala Harris' blouse and was she wearing Doug's undershirt on this morning's press availability bc wow it sure looked like she was wearing a Hanes men's undershirt and nonetheless she slayed the hell out of all those interviews (this is 100% TIC, I have the utmost respect for her as a Senator and a candidate, IDGAF what she wears, but my point stands that if there was a wardrobe situ it sure didn't affect her interviews)

While Amy is a good politician and has some good things to say, I have kind of felt like I'm done hearing from her in this race. And please make your H donate to Castro bc my H is Hatch Acted out

Fuck this false narrative. This is so wrong. It's Cillizza, no surprise this is what he comes up with as his analysis.

I was MIA all day yesterday but I have a couple of thoughts.
1) Fuck everyone trying to make Kamala the angry black woman. I 100% know that was what Tulsi was trying to do. She wants to be the woman of color for the party. Just a big fuck you to her.
2) When I was reading headlines yesterday I was so incredibly frustrated that almost every headline read something along the lines of Biden being attacked, Biden getting beat up, etc. Trying to pull sympathy for him makes me angry. He got called out on his bullshit and then it is spun into everyone trying to get him. He had a terrible night. This is the 2nd debate and the 2nd time he has faltered. I think he is aware he is not the best candidate and it is throwing him. As someone mentioned in the debate thread, he really thought he was going to walk into a room filled with hugs and love when he entered the race and it hasn't been so. He doesn't know what to do.
3) The debates are working on some people. My coworker that I talk about a lot (the 45 voter who said she would just not vote at all if the dems ran a "socialist" but she definitely won't vote for T again) was really raving to me about Liz's healthcare plan and how well she did during the debate. She also said today that she and her whole family have realized that they absolutely have to vote for whoever the dem candidate is, and that any one of them would be better than 45. And they realize it isn't good enough to just not vote, they have to vote against him. So there are 4 previous T votes that are going to go Dem. It is because she is actually listening to the debates and interviews and realizes what good politics are.

I thought that Kamala showed confidence when she spoke about Tulsi and I liked that about her. I do think that there is an "angry black women" stereotype that some will try with her though.
I'm rolling.y eyes hard at Shaun King who practically worships Bernie and said that he without a doubt won the debate.
I wish that in primary season, we would focus on energizing the Democratic base and not try to focus on including Republicans. I'm ready to see the field narrowed down and the conversation and resources focusing on them rather than being so spread out among a bunch of people who don't have a chance.

My personal thoughts.
I love Kamala. Love her. She is my #1.
Warren in very close second.
Pete in very close third, although I don't want him as president, I want him involved. Senator? Cabinet? VP?
Inslee for EPA please.
Castro for VP? I like him a lot.
Also love Booker, for something. He's adorable, maybe my backup husband? š Gillibrand is fantastic too and I just made MH donate to keep her around.

milano I really want Pete to be the second half of the ticket. The experience would be great for him, and also will pay real money to see him debate Pence.

So while I don't think Gillibrand will be Pres I wanted to share a good anecdote.
I donated to Gillibrand. Because I'm overseas, I have to fill out additional paperwork to confirm my donation is legit. I donated to several others as well and I forgot who all I sent the paperwork to. Turns out I forgot to turn in my paperwork for Gillibrand. Her people appropriately returned my donation because I didn't submit the papers.
Needless to say I doubled my donation and already sent my paperwork back. I appreciate that kind of attention to detail and honesty (especially in such a timely fashion).

Our state fair starts this week. They have a āsoapboxā stage for politicians to speak on. Iām going next Saturday and both Kamala and Hickenlooper will be on the soapbox that day. Hickenlooper is a weirdo but Iāll probably still swing by. Iāll for sure be there for Kamala. I donāt know who else will be there but Iām guessing at least one more POTUS candidate and possibly some local. There are perks for being āfirst in the nationā for caucuses.
