Yay! I love a beach vacation! MH is dumbfounded on how people can sit there all day long, but to me that’s perfection. And it’s probably an UO, but I don’t think anything if pulling a kid from school for a vacation. This shocks me coming from a teacher!! Lol.. I think it’s because I’m coming from the high school level. As long as people gave me notice I could gather the materials the kids might need. I also have always worked in the time of email and smart phones, so it’s a kid wanted to check in, they could. At the high school level so much of it was on the kids—Set the expectations up ahead of time with clear deadlines (And I was never a hard ass about it —if I knew they were coming back Monday I might give them until Wednesday to get stuff in.) |

Josie’s school is 9 with just parental notification. Anything over and they can ask for documentation. Does this include sick days? It looks that way. Here a screen shot. I’d imagine that anything over 10 with a doctors note would be accepted, as well.  |

I was curious about pulling kids from school for vacations, too. I'm sure it varies by school district, but how do yours handle it? Do you lie about their absence? Is it unexcused? Are they allowed a certain # of unexcused absences before it hurts them? It's been too long since I've been in school and I don't remember shit about absences. Lol. I'd prefer the next time we go to Disneyland to do it during the week and not on a holiday. Spring Break was not delightful. Come out now! Not very busy! |

Dang tgrimes 10 extra days for kids of service members is half our school. We are pulling E the last week of class to go to London. He will learn proper English and history while he's there so it will be educational, right? |

tgrimes and Sunny41 originally I was blocked out all summer to use my tickets. I couldn’t even get myself into the park unless I paid for the ticket. They have removed the block outs through mid August. It’s busier now then it was in June and the 1st half of July but nowhere near normal summer numbers. (This is why I can’t go back to the OG team yet because my replacement can’t be transferred until sometime in August. So when LO and my mom come out from OK I’m taking them to Disneyland to see Star Wars and the Electrical parade.
