You know what feels great? Unfriending someone on social media on a Monday morning. 95% of my Facebook posts are about my cute kids, but God forbid I share an opinion about something. Thank you to the high school acquaintance and avowed “libertarian” whose first interaction with me in well over 10 years was to choose the laugh reaction to a post about the president’s racism. Let me walk you to the door. I have too many Facebook friends anyway. Happy fresh new Monday, friends!

That racist jackass demanded an apology FROM the four Congresswomen he attacked.
I won't link to his Twitter, but he really did. I didn't believe the headline when I saw it because...
Abusive tactics to a T.
ETA: I didn't think he could still shock me. Piss me off, yes, but shock, no. I am in absolutely no way condoning his words or behavior, but I am a little relieved I haven't become that numb to his behavior.

I know whats going to happen its going to go down in the annals of 'things 45 said that were bad' like very fine people, rapists from mexico, etc. AND NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TO HIM.
I'm sickened that we've come to this point in our country.

To play devils advocate, we do need the rust belt if we want to keep our house majority and win back the senate, as well as win state elections and prevent even more gerrymandering at the state and federal levels. And having a presidential candidate that plays well in purple areas helps us w/ that by increasing voter turnout. I think that our progressive candidates can do just fine in those areas with a message of economic populism, but I do think that the fuck ‘em attitude that seems to run rampant in some Twitter circles is misguided.

My thing is only this part of the poll was leaked and it feels like an internal hit on progressives in the party. This is where I feel the Dem party acts a fool.

I've been thinking on this.
To say we don't 'need' a part of the country is part of how we got where we are today. It sort of plays into the otherism, we're trying so hard to fight against. Conservatives whose ideals I disagree with (and who dislike what is going on in this country), doesnt make them any less American.
there have been presidents who i have vehemently disagreed with. But at the end of the day I didn't think they had anything other than what they thought was best for the country at heart and they truly love this country. This one has no love of country and only sees the profit to be made from the destruction of a society.

I'm not literally suggesting that we tell Ohio and Pennsylvania to fuck off. But I am saying that the party needs to stop bending over backwards to appease one voting block at the expense of every other Dem voting block. To me, Biden is the poster child of this.

Morning all!
Back from vacation and catching up on things. Looks like the raids yesterday didn't pan out. THe Gestapo style fear mongering just left everyone inside. People on IG were supporting working illegals reminding them of their rights.
What else did I miss?
In this climate we will not be inning over Republicans. Supporters and have been all over Facebook sticking it to Dems on using minorities for votes. NOt sure how founded it is at this point.

common societal sentiment ok* but its NOT something the President of the United States standing in front of the White House should be saying

Well, that's probably true enough (although I suspect LBJ and Nixon thought it often). That said, I think it will play well to a lot of people. It's UO here especially, but the Democratic Party as a whole, and the progressive wing in particular, IMO, still has not generated a narrative that describes an understandable immigration policy or abortion rights policy. We're letting the Republicans set the tone - to our detriment and to the detriment of those that we seek to represent IMO.
I'm not surprised that Dem leadership wanted to confirm the general feeling that ACO and Bernie are becoming the 'face' of the party to a lot of people in general - and I think a lot of younger Dems don't actually realize who comes out to vote and how they'll react to an extreme candidate, or a candidate that mirrors Trump and disdains millions of voters.
And I reject a party that seeks to ignore millions of people - just as bad at the other side.

I am confused as to what this will do? Also are we ever going to get to some real work or do we have to wait to get Trump out of the white house so we can get on to actually making progress in this lifetime.

Ken Cuccinelli said on CNN when asked about Trump's racist tweets "So What?" Mr. Cuccinelli is the director US Citizenship & Immigration.
