Morning. We’re heading camping this weekend, so I’m getting things packed up. It’s supposed to be 95* and sunny all weekend so I might melt. At least we have air conditioning in the camper.

Have fun camping slenle! I have no idea how people sleep in the heat without AC.

I am taking half day today. I plan on leaving work by 10:45, heading to the gym, then going to my dads to float in the pool for a few hours. Evie is already there, so I'll take her home. It's going to be in the 90s today, so it's a perfect pool day!

And I'm sure we will end up at the fireworks stand this evening. They all opened yesterday, but with Evie being at my dads, we didn't have to go. I don't think she will allow that to happen today though! We have already spent over $600 on fireworks that H bought through a distributor. And we can't even shoot anything off until Wednesday.

Half day at work, we all get to leave at noon.
Cadence woke up asking when her glasses would be ready. They're ready, I was planning on getting them this weekend, but she said she wants to go after school today. Ok, then.
I had to call the eye doctor and see if they could fax me my script so that I too could get my glasses updated. She said she would fax it today...wonder if it will be before noon. If not, it just means an extra Target trip for me.

Yesterday was weird at work. Smokey the Secretary went wonky and started freaking out telling her boss she needed time off. I think he thought she was just in one of her moods and was going to take today off and enjoy a 3 day weekend. Nope, she said she would be taking all of next week off and that if she didn't she would end up dead. It was.....dramatic...I hate to say it, but I'm wondering if she's drinking again. She is starting to act the way she was when she was coming to work drunk, drinking while at work and sleeping on her office floor. Really hope it doesn't get to that point again. Her behavior has just been really erratic.
One of the associates also quit yesterday. She is the one who had to choose whether to keep her baby or not. Ultimately they chose not to make her baby live a life of suffering. She just recently came back to work, but only for a few hours here and there. Apparently, she decided yesterday to quit, but no one has been told anything yet, I just have eyes and ears everywhere, so I hear things. I don't blame her. I would probably quit too. Take time to heal.

That’s really sad klong11. Both situations. I’m surprised Smokey wasn’t fired before. But you’re office defies logic so I’m not that surprised.

Last day at the beach. We are planning on biking, beaching, eating seafood and going to the outdoor concert tonight. I am also hoping for a last nap here. I don’t want vacation to end but I’m excited to pick up our new family members tomorrow.

We have an appointment with the neurodevelopmental pediatrician this morning. I don’t expect much to happen today other than us being badgered about ABA.

Counseling last night went well. I think we both know we need to file, but we’re taking it slowly ATM. I might ask to schedule another appointment with the therapist so we can try to discuss logistics at that time.

Hi!

Wednesday was PreK graduation and so darn cute. Then we had a handful of families over for a pizza party. Today I dropped S off at DC for his last day (I know it's kid of stupid that he graduated Wednesday but went back for 2 days). I'm a little sad for S to leave his "home" for the past 5+ years.

This morning one of the teachers stopped him and said she would miss him but was happy she'd see him when we drop B off. Then she started telling him how special he is and how he will do amazing things in his life and how 1 day she will be old and in a rocking chair and she will see his name on the news as someone who did something spectacular, and she'll say "I knew he would do great things!" It made me a little weepy.

But... camp starts Monday and he's super excited. Not to mention half his class is going to the same camp so it won't be to different for him.

So I spoke with Smokey this morning and she was telling me about how stressed she was and that while she said she would take next week off she will probably come first thing in the morning each day because she can't stay at her house all day doing nothing. That she needs to get out because she is afraid if she isn't doing something she might start drinking again and that is the last thing she wants to do. I'm glad I had the conversation with her because I was legit worried she was drinking again and I feel like it will in fact kill her if she does.

She told me the associate called her(they are close because the associates mother is her neighbor) and was saying how Smokey's boss was pissed off she was quitting. I'm not surprised. He's the one that posts all the anti-abortion propaganda on our bulletin board and I'm pretty sure he was upset about her decision to terminate, not that it was any of his business.  I can understand her not being comfortable here anymore having to work with some of these self-righteous a-holes. I told Smokey she needs to tell her to not give a fuck what anyone here thinks. Her only concern should be herself right now.

Good morning. I’m getting a pedicure now then spending the day getting ready to head to the beach. We will go tonight at 9 tonight when gymnastics ends so hopefully there won’t be traffic. I slept in until 8:30, it was amazing.

jewels , aw. That's so sweet. Clearly he had an impact on them. I'm glad he'll still get to see his friends at camp.

klong11 I'm glad you talked to Smokey too. I hope she gets the help she needs to alleviate her stress in healthy ways. That's so sad about the associate who lost her baby. I can't imagine having to make that decision and meanwhile seeing anti-abortion crap on the board at work. That would be heartbreaking.

Work today. MH and the girls are going to meet me for lunch at the hospital. My cheap heart is happy I can have an amazing salad there for less than $2. Makes me miss working there.

Last night I stayed late at TKD chatting with some of the ladies. We ended up with an all women's class. Even if it's not close friendships, it's nice having more acquaintances.

Tonight we're going to see Jeff Lynne and ELO in concert. Should be fun.

I’m at the gym after dropping the kids off. M cried at drop off. MH said he had been crying, but I thought it was just a cranky cry that he only would do with Mh. I saw today it was different. Reminds me of when he was at the Montessori school after starting the big class. I don’t like it.l and will try to talk to him tonight to get to the root of it. I may look into some other camp options for him if he truly doesn’t like it there. Picking him up before nap so we can go see Aladdin.

Last night when I was at TKD the girls watched an episode of Goosebumps that freaked them out. I thought to counteract that we'd watch the Care Bears. Both girls were just melting. Maddie ran upstairs to put on her Care Bear shirt and get giant Grumpy Bear. Cass started to tear up but assured me she's not sad, just that some things like the Care Bears get her in the feels essentially. It was sweet.

klong11 on that is sad about the associate, I don't think I could be around someone that has such strong views about the topic. I hope she can rest and find a better job when she's ready.

lahdeedah oh sad for M, that is hard. Is he happy at night afterwards?

Mh fell asleep after putting the kids down and was useless in prepping for today even though we discussed getting lunches and water play stuff ready last night since I had my doctors appt this am. So I did it all as usual this morning, and got myself to my appt on time 🙄. I saw the doc that delivered N, and if we schedule an inducement date it'd be her or my primary, but of course who knows if I get that far. I had a throw up burp mid-glucose drink, but thankfully kept it down.

It's blistering hot around here. We are running errands tomor morning and then our first neighborhood BBQ/bday party, so hoping we make some friends.

Poor guy lahdeedah. Can you try and spy on him when you pick him up?

When C was at that bad daycare he would cry at drop off and I brushed it off. But when I would spy I could see he just wasn’t himself there. When we went to his last place he was clingy at first but it passed quickly and when I’d peek in he was his old self.

I hope it’s just all the change and he adjusts soon. How is M2 doing?

I’m glad to hear the appointment brought you guys to some sort of plan cagoldi. Is he still being a dick or is he more amicable now that he has had time to reflect?
