So when he gets in trouble and gets sent to time-out, he peed in his pants. Every. Time. At least you know he can control it? (silver linings) Yup I think so. Today was roughly 50/50. The times he had accidents were when he was too busy playing and refused to stop, and the tantrum/time-out.

For breakfast, my boys each had: a waffle, a hard boiled egg, and 2 pieces of bacon (a full strip each cut in half). I'm now making more eggs and more bacon. Because apparently they are actually teenage boys and I just didn't realize.

I need K's fever to go the fuck away. Working with her crawling all over me and complaining about commercials on sling and trying to push the buttons on my computer and yelling at me to push the buttons she wants is killing me.
And she has like a half dozen boogers and nothing else going on. This fever is unnecessary.

This is not delightful. We have to do blood work after this so I’m sure he’ll be super happy about that.

Sorry tgrimes! I just wanted to throw this out there for suggestions - Reading time before bed has become a nightmare. It’s no longer a wind down time and usually all of us just end up mad/frustrated. O will not sit still to read books anymore. He’s normally running around him room, climbing all over us, playing with toys in his room... basically anything except sitting and reading. I end up yell-reading a book (while he doesn’t pay attention) before giving up and putting him to bed with him crying that he wants to read books. It’s not an enjoyable thing anymore. I know he can sit still and listen to a book bc I have pics from school that prove he does. But no matter how many times I tell him to pick out a book and sit down he won’t do it. My thought was to be stricter and give him 1 shot to sit nicely and read then when he doesn’t do it then straight to bed which will lead to him being upset. Maybe after a few nights he will get it that not listening during reading time = straight to bed? Other thoughts?

cookswithwine I've done similar. In fact, last night H kept getting up and I told him if he gets up again I'm not tuckingg him back in. He got up again. I didn't tuck him in. He flipped. And eventually he stopped and went to bed. (This was not easy for me to sit through, but I always make sure to stick to my word). Anyway, at 2.5, I'm gonna let him work it out. And I am firmly in the not-CIO camp (for me, you do you). At this point, it is a totally different ball game.

starbuck that sounds.. not fun. Hope that goes away soon. tgrimes poor thing. He doesn't look happy. cookswithwine C has been more active during bedtime and some days we don't read any books. I don't have any good advice though. I'll usually just pick out a book, read it and put him to bed after if he's not paying attention.

Well I survived the MRI. I almost thought I was going to have to walk away from it in the beginning. I laid on the table and they started putting these pads around my arms and then stuck a giant piece of plastic on my stomach. I started panicking and told them to get everything off. After calming down, I said we could try again. This time I closed my eyes and kept them closed through the whole hour and a half. The scanning itself wasn't bad since it's the tech telling you what to do and each scan was pretty quick. It wasn't until the end when they were waiting for the doctor to review everything that I started getting bad again. It took forever and they kept needing more. But I finally got through it and I'm home now. I still don't feel like I've been able to fully settle down yet.

Offer him a shot and if he doesn't want to cooperate, off to bed he goes. He'll figure it out.

The radiologists were kind of reviewing everything live but I think they said they'd have a report in 24-48 hours. I'm not sure when the MFM will be able to review them. I have an MFM appointment tomorrow so we'll see if they know anything. I'm still waiting on amnio results too.

I hope K feels better. Poor girl starbuck. He doesn’t look happy tgrimes. I hope the blood draw was quick. No advice but that sounds frustrating cookswithwine. J is a pain when I’m trying to get him in PJ’s and likes to run away from me but he’s pretty good when it comes time to read books. I have him sit in the glider with me though so he can’t really escape. Gosh goldenlove I would have freaked out also. I’m super claustrophobic. I really hope you get all your answers soon as can finally relax. Keep us posted.

I'm at work now, hoping for an uneventful afternoon. H charmed all the staff by telling each one of them thank you & blowing them kisses after they finished poking and prodding him. You wouldn't even know he was screaming bloody murder when they started. Lol.

goldenlove, I'm sorry. Do something special for yourself today. cookswithwine, I do the 1-2-3 count to consequences. They listen about 70% of the time when I start counting, because they know the alternative is that they don't get whatever it is that they would otherwise want like a story or whatever. Overall I'm on board with your approach. I will not scream-read and I am not going to repeat myself endlessly. Stay firm! (but note that it will probably take more than a few days)

goldenlove I'm sorry you had such a stressful experience. I've had a few MRIs as well (one while I was pregnant with H) and I agree the claustrophobic aspect can be pretty intense. Potty training is getting back on track. It's 3:30pm and we've only had 1 pee accident. All other pees and poops have been in the toilet (I'm totally jinxing myself for this evening I'm sure). Aside from that. I'm trying to pick a few small cleaning tasks a day (on top of regular dishes/laundry/sweeping). Today I cleaned out the porch closet and vacuumed the couches). If I can keep that momentum going, I should get my house totally cleaned before the winter (kidding).

waitwhat I wish we had a chair. That might “define” it a bit better but I can’t fit one in his small room right now with his giant car bed. starbuck I like the counting to 3 idea. I give him way more chances than that now.

He always got a special treat at our pediatrician's office. I would get stickers, he would get a hot wheels car and a candy!?! LOL
