What’s happening?? Any goals for this summer? Either personal goals or fun things you want to check off your summer bucket list?

I'm at work. I've emailed the pedi because M's eczema is out of control and the prescription I have isn't helping at all, left a message for the ENT about H's other eardrum rupturing and left a message with the infectious disease nurse about H's lab orders.
I need an assistant to keep up with all of this shit.

We're planning a family trip to Toronto this summer. We don't have a date yet, it'll likely be last minute since DH doesn't have a work schedule. But we are making it happen and the boys are super excited to go to a zoo. Other than that I'm making sure we spend lots of time outside. I recently discovered a Facebook group, NL Rock Art. Apparently these groups are all over the world so check your area (or start one if you think it's as cool as I do). Basically people paint rocks (some are just simple kids painting scribbles, and some are super detailed Disney characters or animals etc) and hide them in parks and walking trails. Then you go out and look for them when you're out. You can keep them if you like, or rehide them somewhere else for someone else to find. People take pictures of their finds and post them (and post pictures of their own creations before hiding them). I'm legit stoked to take the kids to the park and look for some. And painting our own on a rainy day to go hide.

Never heard of rock art before (the FB group, I know what painting rocks is, lol) but that sounds really fun.
It's supposed to be in the 90's here and I just want to hide inside in the air conditioning. I have an appointment with my ob this afternoon though, so unfortunately that's not an option.
My (our) main goal right now is to get our townhome on the market and sold. The realtors came through on Friday and they're confident they can get it sold in a couple of weeks, thankfully the area is a really hot market right now. We're just really ready to have this off our list of things to handle. We have a couple of touch up things to handle this week, plus cleaners, and meeting with the staging company, and then 🤞 we can put it up for sale next week.

Morning!
I did a target run after I dropped B off at school. Of course I bought a ton of stuff I didn’t need. But now I’m home and waiting to go pick him up. It’s only in the 60’s today and it feels so good after the heatwave we had this weekend.
I actually made a summer bucket list last week for things I want to do with the kids. I want to visit a couple splash parks, go to the zoo, the children’s museum, go to a farm, picnic in the park, and I have a list of about 5 different playgrounds I want to visit around my area. We don’t have any big trips planned because we are doing the cape in the fall but we’ll stay at my FIL’s house at the lake over the 4th of July and a couple other sporadic weekends.

danib they do rock art here too! waitwhat 60s?! We just dropped into the low 90s after the heat wave. It’s too hot for me this year. I really want to spend every weekend in the water until I’m too large to enjoy lol. Water = pool, splash park, beach, boat, etc. Once baby arrives I won’t be able to go so I want to take advantage now. I would like to go to the zoo again but it’s too hot, we will have to wait until fall.

At this point in the year we are usually in the mid to upper 70’s.

Hi! My brain is fucking jello.
Too many proposals. I got one out the door Friday, another one today (both were beasts), and a small one going out tomorrow. Luckily that one is almost done. I'm taking myself out for a looooong lunch tomorrow.

elle, are you guys staying in the same area, just getting a bigger place? I have really nothing this summer. But Labor Day weekend W and I are going to fly somewhere westward to meet my parents for a long hiking weekend. Debating between Denver (to visit the rockies) and flying to Vegas then driving to do a loop of Grand Canyon, Bryce, and Zion (I've done that loop before it's legit). Hoping for Denver this time because it's cheaper, a shorter flight, and I haven't done the rockies yet.

starbuck - we moved the August before A was born, we're just unloading the townhouse now. So there's no additional move imminent, thankfully. Once the place has it's website up (that's a thing with these realtors apparently), I'll share on the private board. I know how fun it is to peruse listings.

Oh yeah, one other goal is to have some kind of family babymoon in August/September. We're thinking of staying close so we don't have to deal with the hassle of traveling far. I'd love to stay for a week or so at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego, although I'm not sure how long my H will be able to take off from work. What's most important is that he's planning on being off all of December, so that is the priority, for obvious reasons, lol.

I'm kind of here!
The set up at my new job is one where everyone sits and little clusters of tables instead of individual desks/cubicles. So I can't get on HiH on the work computer because everyone can see it. Which is a shame because I still don't have access to the programs I need in order to do work so I just sit there doing nothing.
Today I got in it at 8, logged emails for tracking, played on my phone for a bit, updated my planner, took an hour and 15 minute lunch break, logged more emails, took a 20 minute break with my team lead and then left 2:45.
I know it won't be like this forever, once I get access to everything I should be super busy, but the sitting around watching other people work really sucks.

I bribed M to go to school by saying I’d pick her up early. She doesn’t have a fever and I’m sure her vomiting was due to her reflux. Of course she’s making me feel like shit about it.

Hello. I forgot that I haven't posted here yet. Work is work so I'll just spare you my usual complaining.
I don't know if it's nesting kicking in or watching my mom fully furnish and decorate a whole house in under a month, but I'm finally starting to buy things to decorate. We need to spend a whole weekend finishing up our master once I get everything. I'd like the random boxes gone, decorations up and maaaaybe actually install the handles on our bathroom cabinets finally lol. The nursery is also on my must do list for this summer but I'm also looking at getting our guest room done and some outside stuff. There's a lot and we'll never be able to get it done once the baby is here.
The good news is that our patio is scheduled to start on Thursday! Then H can finally finish sod and landscaping. I really want to get the fence installed this summer but we might have to wait a little longer. We're dealing with weird fence situations with both neighbors.

Hiiiii. We spent the morning playground hopping. We went to 2 playgrounds we have never visited before and then I swung through the Wendy's drive thru for some lunch (trying to make better decisions so I only got a salad). J is absolutely beat and totally ready for a nap.
Tonight, B has an ice cream social at his school. They can play on the playground and then make ice cream sundaes. My H will be working so I will be bringing both kids but I think it will be fun for J too. At least he can eat an ice cream sundae!

K is on day 3 of a fever with no other symptoms. I spent the morning with her and then took her to my mom for the afternoon so I could get some work done.

tgrimes Hope M is ok. Don't let her make you feel bad! Any updates on H? I picked her up from school and she’s pathetic. Hasn’t eaten all day. She’s currently lounging on the couch watching Dino Dana. We have labs to do Thursday morning at the hospital for H. The ent’s nurse called a few min ago and said she’d talk to the ent about whether we should do tubes right away or not and she’d call me back.

Most of the time the movie references go right over my head. Do they tell you what movies they are? A lot of Monty Python, I think. They tell me and then I promptly forget. They're usually more obscure movies. Although they were quoting that Team America (I think that's what it's called?) Movie last week and I've at least seen enough parts of that to get what they were saying.
