Weekend thread

I took the boys to Col's lacrosse while DH and FIL worked on the Murphy bed. We ended up going for lunch at our usual spot - they have an oversized, covered deck backing up to a stream - but the menu isn't as good, it's kinda expensive, and the wait was awful today. We may be looking for a new spot.

DH just came back from the grocery store so I need to unpack. Nothing much going on for the rest of the day.

Measuring now, this is giving me hope. My SM said it'd dwarf the room, but we only sleep in there and we'd sleep better with a king. I think our out of control clothes situation dwarfs our room right now...and the 3 last moving boxes of random crap that just sit (only one is mine at least). I love my bedframe though and don't want to buy a new duvet and sheets...

A California king is longer and less wide if that works better in the room. But it's hard to find headboards

trtlcrzy you’ll have to share pics when it’s all done! My mom’s fried grows roses and her backyard is gorgeous and so fragrant. She drops off little bouquets every so often to my parents

I will be spamming my IG with all the pictures. This summer it’s probably not going to be super impressive since it’s all just being planted but hopefully next summer it will be super lush and beautiful.

Add me to the need space in bed club. MH is a snuggler, but I think I have trained him after 8 years. I’m a light sleeper and just want to starfish in peace without anybody waking me. I can’t wait to get our king while MH is not looking forward to it.

Ran a few errands earlier. Nothing much else in the agenda today except getting ready for the work week. I hate that it’s my last week at this place, but I’m kinda ready to get it over with and be in my own home.

WWN13D: Cadence has a non productive cough and a stuffy nose. I looked in her throat and she has small white dots on her tonsils. In my mind that means strep, but Dr. Google says not necessarily. No fever, no other signs of illness. Should I take her to the medclinic now or wait and see if she starts to show other signs?

J got invited to go play in a neighbors backyard (3 houses down across the street so not within earshot) but I've never been there, it was lunch time, and I'm fairly certain he has to poop and not sure he'd know to tell the mom. I declined but feel guilty since it was his first invite.

He will get invited many times, when timing is more convenient, I promise! Kids keep coming back...just like our weird neighbor. We decline regularly, and she still shows up!

I have had a king size bed since my first marriage, there is no going back. Me and H are both large people, add 2 dogs and the occasional kid...no way I will ever sleep in something other than a king at home.

I dont like people touching me when I sleep. It's hot. Give me my space. I know when h puts his hand on my back, what his intentions are. Once it's done, we got back to our respective sides.

peachsmama Wouldn’t it be your mom’s problem when she tries to sell your grandma’s house after she passes? I’m not sure why it would be the bank’s problem.

Our dogs love the big bed. When A leaves in the morning zorro lays in his spot like a person would.

House isn't paid off. My grandparents were always really poor and refinanced so many times they owe more now than what they paid for it 40 years ago. She has no assets, no will, no life insurance. We have a small burial policy with the funeral home and that'll take care of her after death. House will be returned to the bank.

In his defense, I recently put in an address in Waze and ended up 10 miles away on 2 random streets at a church parking lot (not even close to the correct address) in a sketchy part of town. When I finally got to my destination--a half hour late--I told the girls what had happened, and another girl was like, "yep, same thing happened to me".

I would wait. Does your pedi have walk in hours if needed?

Yes, plus we have the clinic close to our house for after hours if necessary.

My parents even bought her a new car (she couldnt get out of hers anymore, to low) and put it in their names so we dont have to worry about transferring it after.

Same. And I'm pretty lax about stuff usually and am not one to run to the dr. Strep makes me nervous because if not treated it can lead to scary shit. The white spots would be enough for me to go in.
