Kinder orientation went well. Cadence is obsessed with the library. I thought there were 3 kindergarten classes, nope, 7!! They have a big common room that all of the classrooms feed off from just for the kindergarteners. I've never seen a set up like that. M’s preschool is set up like this I think. They call the common area a pod. Each lower grade and the pre-k has a pod.

Big storms this morning, but cleared up for water play for the kids at least..not excited for packing water play stuff 2x a week for the rest of the summer. I forgot to thank my sis for a book about going to k that she sent up with my mom last week and she asked my mom if j got it. So now I'm nervous she is annoyed I'm ungrateful. She gave it to him when I wasnt around and read it to him..I just noticed it on the couch late last night. Why do I get such anxiety about if she is pissed? I guess I'll read it tonight and send a pic or something. Also have tball and then a team meeting tonight. Blerg. What do you have to send for water play? I wouldn’t stress about the book, you literally just got it. She can wait a few days for a thank you.

Wow, that's...something. Way to adult drunk dude. Right? Technically, he could have sued their homeowner's insurance for payment, since the injury was on their property. Ridiculous. There needs to be a law that prohibits lawsuits against others for your own stupidity.

klong11 glad it went well! how big is one class normally? The principal said they cap(maximum) at 22, and this past year they averaged 18-20.

We did our orientation, I think they said they cap at 22 but try not to have classes that big. The principal right now said there will be 3 classes all at 16-17 each. He said that's his ideal class size so he hopes either no one else registers, or 17 more kids register so they have to create another class. But realistically, I figure a few more families will register late and the classes will each be closer to 20, which is what he has now and it's insane.
They said there are no assistants in the classes.
But I am excited, I hear amazing things about the school he'll be in.

I'm just concerned because Cadence is used to a lot of attention from her teachers and once she starts kinder she isn't going to get as much one on one. It will be a big adjustment for her and I just hope she doesn't act out.

A common area/pod with bathrooms, then 4-5 classrooms off each pod, for all grade levels. Looking at it, I like the idea, keeps all the kids the same age, in the same area all day. From a taxpayer stand point, I hate it because instead of adding on to the school, they can't and just have to build additional schools. My small town now has 5 elementary schools because this is how they are building them.

peachsmama What is going to happen with your cousin and her kids when your grandma passes? It will be the banks problem... she was diagnosed 4 years ago. They've chosen to have 3 kids since then with literally neither of them working in that time and let my dying grandmother take care of them. They know the kids are welcome- but they are not.

My kid’s class sizes are all over the place. DS1 had a large group with 29 kids in each of 2 kindergarten classes. They get an assistant when they hit 27. DD had 24 in kindergarten but the number has dropped to 14 in 3rd grade. 14 is not enough, especially because only 4 of them are girls. She also has 2 teachers and an aide in the class of 14.

Aside from war, old maid, and go fish, does anyone have another card game that’s a big hit with their kids? Is Rummy too complicated?

I have a confession that's going to gross you all out. I'm disgusted with myself on this one. We went to my parents for a BBQ yesterday and I wore a cotton maxi dress. I'm... still wearing it. Like I slept in it and just kept it on today because I'm the worst.

The weather is holding out for now so looks like I’m going to have a least part of a tball game to go to. I hope it doesn’t pour on us though, I’ve already done my hair and make up for later. Still don’t know what I’m wearing.

Hi! Had today off work but have been busy taking care of laundry and cleaning house. Tomorrow is a day off too but I have to take the dogs to the vet for their yearly check ups/shots. And stock up on interceptor and nexguard (goodbye monies).
Sierra started summer school today and then I had to pick her up early for her weekly OT appt. it’s an hour away and she fell asleep about 5 minutes before we got there and she was not happy about being woke up so she didn’t cooperate very well.

And can I just bitch about insurance for a moment? We have been waiting for approval for S to get home infusions for 6 weeks now. Today they finally responded that they want more information from the dr. Meanwhile, Sierras hand function is declining again because she is missing treatments. 🤬 Why the F do we pay so much money and get jerked around for so long while the person in need is suffering?! Ok, rant over....but I know some of you can certainly sympathize. Like tgrimes for sure.
