Eh. I don't think anyone here is canonizing him. Yes. I think there are plenty of Democrats who are making those arguments. Realistically, though, there is a whole segment of our country that isn’t even going to listen to arguments in favor of impeachment unless they are made by a Republican. I think it is worth signal boosting him on this specific issue for that reason.

She's claiming corruption at the FBI, of course, Is “corruption at the FBI” the new “he was just a low level coffee boy”?

That means they can subpoena him right? Oh I hope they don't. I mean. For my own partisan personal desires I want him to spill all the tea but that's not Bob Mueller. And he's doing the right and patriotic thing here. That report is exhaustive. They drew conclusions where appropriate. It would be inappropriate for him to weigh in or pontificate further. Makes sense. I am hoping Pelosi makes moves to impeach now

Also the fact that Mueller investigated whether or not he could indict under seal is interesting.

So Julia Ainsley just had a one-pager in which SCO definitely threw Barr under the bus. Not overtly but he directly contradicts Barr's statement from his presser saying that the OLC opinion was not a major factor in prosecutorial charging determinations

Eh. I don't think anyone here is canonizing him. I don’t think anyone here is either. I just thought it was an interesting point of view. Along the lines of “if Amash is getting standing ovations, what has a majority (shrinking but still there) of actual Dems spooked about how impeachment is going to play?” It’s just interesting times. It's sad but true. But this is the only way anything ever gets done on the Hill. People from opposite sides of the aisle put aside their differences (deep, important differences) to compromise where they can. It doesn't make bigoted Republicans heroes, but if we refuse to work with them on prescription drug prices, infrastructure, protecting our elections, etc then we go from very little positive change to none.

I’m sure Mueller leaving it to people to interpet his careful legal language will be effective on a country that still doesn’t know they should vaccinate their kids

Hokay, Newt. Trumpo, indeed.
Muller tried today to have iut boith ways. If he thought President Trumpo was guilty of something he should have said he was guilty of something. Ken Starr used the word guilty 11 times on 11 different counts in his report on President Clinton. If not guilty Trump is innocent.

I know an impeachment indictment would not go any further than Mitch's nose at the moment but how much does history play into this, do you think?
