The funny thing is that my mom is a therapist.  You'd think she'd see how much I've been drowning these past few months and give me a pass.  Literally everyone else in my life has.  

But the flowers have been ordered (thank you H for sending me a pic of his card), and brunch res have been made.  I put a hard end time on brunch due to B's nap so 1.5 hours tops and then I am out.  And I think I will go treat myself to a mani/ pedi while B naps.

cagoldi My insurance company still won't cover M's lab work from February. The doctor already submitted a letter of medical necessity and they denied it. The nurse said the doctor would need to follow up with furthering the appeal process and that would take time for him to gather references + information to send to appeal the insurance decision. She said I can appeal to the insurance company myself.

Please tell me what to do. Do I pay it and appeal? Don't pay, appeal and tell Quest Diagnostics what I'm doing?

I wouldn’t pay at this point.

First, I would call insurance just to find out where they are with the process and yes, initiate a member appeal. They should give you a reference number.

Then I would call Quest, advise them that you are in the appeals process and give them the information you obtained from insurance. Ask them to document in the account that you are awaiting a response from insurance and you want them to confirm they will not send you to collections unless and until the appeals process has been completed. Do not pay, and make it clear to them you will not pay at this time.

guster H actually volunteered to drive when I said we were walking in the rain. It was a fun night.

C and I drove to the beach house today. He played in the sand and then we met my SIL for lunch. She and I have never done anything alone together but I have always liked her so I invited her this morning and she came.

jewels I know my mom is a no win situation so I’m over it. When she turned 60, we (my sister’s and I) planned a party. She didn’t want it so we canceled. She just turned 65 and we figured if she wanted something, her wonderful husband could plan it. My younger sister took her to dinner and made her a cake. 2 weeks later it was my sister’s birthday. My grandma asked my mom if she was doing anything with my sister and her reply was “nope, no one does anything for my birthday, so I’m not doing anything for anyone else’s.” If I buy her gifts, she asks for receipts to return them. For Mother’s Day she will get the plants that DD’s school sells for $2.50 a piece and maybe a card and that will be that.

kim22, For my mom's 65th she told me I needed to plan her a surprise party. Yup. So that was fun. For her 70th she wanted to go away with the whole family. I had gotten married about a month prior to her birthday and she reminded me... repeatedly... why that trip couldn't happen.

OK I need to stop now. I have to come up with good enough feelings to spend mother's day with her and now want to ring her neck.

Lol! I really didn’t do much...more of a support role. I just kept them from doing anything stupid till the real rescuers got there. But they gave me a photo credit! Ha!

Hey! Long day! I stayed up till 2am listening to the radio while the guys were searching for the missing floaters. MH got home at 4:30am to get a few hours of sleep and then they were going to go back out and look more. But luckily at 5:30am the missing floaters were found huddled up in a old barn cold and wet.

Sierra is sick so I kept her home from school. But I don’t have time for a sick kid so I packed her to the office with me and gave her the iPod to watch videos while I worked. It went about as well as you would expect 😂. Notice the marker on the wall (still need to paint so NBD) and fruit loops scattered everywhere.

I’ve been chiming in all day, but don’t think I posted a hello. Monday, again. Blah. Nothing new to report. Not too busy day at work, but I had a bunch of little things to catch up on as far as bills and setting things up. Of course. I added some shopping in there, too.

M lost his other bottom front tooth last night when he was eating dinner. He didn’t want anymore chocolate coins, though. He wanted dollars. We only had a 5 dollar bill, so I coated it in a little glitter glue and he got that. MH said he was pumped up this morning and begged to bring it to school to show his friends the glitter money from the tooth fairy. His teacher said she would make sure it makes it back to his back pack. I think this has been the best weekend ever for him. Lol

Tell me about the Eyelash lift? I have one scheduled for next Monday. I’ve gotten the tint before, but this will be my first lift. Do you like the results? Do you have a before/after pic?

I did have pics, but it looks like I already deleted them.

I’m happy with it. Supposedly it lasts about five weeks. It’s been a little more than three weeks for me and it’s already fading. I still think it is worth it though, and will do it again for Greece.

Definitely makes me look a little more awake and has pretty much the same effect as a very light coat of mascara.

lfig the cabin is only about 20 minutes away! So we can go any time. And i guess the lake has a huge sand bar perfect for parking and swimming which he kids would love. The pontoon we’re looking at has sea legs so we don’t have to take it off and on the water or worry about a lift. We’re going to look at it tonight 😬

Thanks! I hadn’t even really heard of a lash lift. I apparently didn’t pay attention to the discussion when you got them done. But a local salon that stays booked up pretty far in advance had posted on FB about an opening and I just went for it. I don’t wear mascara much because I’m a bit of an eye rubber (bad habit I know), so I thought it might help me look a bit more polished.

Next week is my pampering week. Monday is lash lift and tint. Then Tuesday I’m going for a stretching session, hour massage, then facial. I decided since MH isn’t very good at Mother’s Day gifts I would just treat myself 😉. But it will all be ruined on Wednesday when S has another sleep study with CPAP. I am sure that I will have to wrestle her to get her to sleep and keep the mask on. Then my massage will be null and void because everything will be out of whack. Especially after sleeping on the hospital couch/bed.

Cadence got in trouble at school. Apparently she was just flat out not listening at all.
When I asked her why she wasn't listening today and talking back she said that her brain made her do it.
I told her that she needs to start telling her brain that they need to follow the rules and listen to the teachers.
She said she would try, but that sometimes it just does stuff.
I reminded her that if there was an emergency she would need to be listening to the teacher to know what to do.
"There is only one kind of emergency, mom, and that's when you take your shoes off. That's an emergency."

It was originally going to be at their house but since there is rain in the forecast, it's at an indoor soccer place.

I'll plan on staying, it's just an hr and half.

jewels I haven’t read everything but I can completely relate. My mom is super selfish and it’s at its worst for Mothers Day and our birthday. We share a birthday. I’ve come to dread Mother’s Day and my birthday because they are never mine. She doesn’t even get a cake I will eat!

This year we made reservations at Great Wolf for the weekend. I didn’t even realize until after I booked that it was Mother’s Day. Likely why it was a good price. My mom was a bit bitchy and passive aggressive about it and she keeps telling me how my brother is coming from CT for brunch. I’m just brushing it off. I took her to lunch this weekend and got her flowers. I’ve done my duty.

I’m actually working through my mom issues in therapy right now. She isn’t going to change so I need to find ways to guard myself from some of it and cope with other parts. She’s great in many ways but can be so so selfish.
