Oh! Also, to those of you who want to see what your name will look like in certain fonts or handwriting, check out 1001fonts, it’s a website where they have thousands of fonts and you enter your texts in a box and they all show up in different text. Let’s you see it in many different ways, kinda helped me see if it would fit for a child, the president, or an artist. Or maybe I’m just a weirdo with too much time on her hands lol

We have first names picked already but have always agreed that if we get to the hospital and the name doesn’t fit, we are OK changing it. If it is a girl it will be Aubrey and if it is a boy it will be Oliver. Not intentional, but all of our kids’ have names that start with vowels.

I have been so tired. Today I got super cranky during a lecture that felt like punishment (and believe me, I am the weirdo that likes going to lectures and even hanging out conferences--this one was BAD), and I knew I was cranky because not only was I uncomfortable and lightheaded when I left, I had to stop myself from barking at the youths who were oblivious while walking because they were sucked into their phones. I am so, so, so tired. And so cranky. I don't like this, it doesn't feel like me. Most of my negative energy is focused inward, it feels uncomfortable to project it out like that.

I've been avoiding the name conversation because H is not only the pickiest man alive when it comes to boy's names, he is also an author who wants our children to have elaborate, futuristic names (boys and girls).
Like, I swear to you all, he was dead serious about wanting to name our last child Cypher if a girl. I had to bring him down gently; it was not easy.
I need to gather my strength before diving in to that again.

I dug up my old original list of names I was saving because I liked them. Looking at it quickly now, I still like these but need to bounce against popularity numbers:
Edison Franklin Arthur Asher Solomon - this was our pick if J was a boy. Probably staying on the list.
Evelyn Victoria - my current favorite especially since #1's name is also a queen name Alba Elara Rosalind (Rose) Colette

We have a list of 20 boy names and 24 girl names lol. We are the weirdos who don’t pick stuff out prior to birth. They are pretty random. Some biblical, some family, some names we just plain like.

I think the state lists come out next week.
I have a whole list of names and one day I’ll like them and the next day I’ll be all “ugh, no. What was I thinking?” Lol

There goes Evelyn off my list! My H loves Evelyn so it’s on our list, but it did get pretty popular the last few years. Although I don’t know anyone named that.

I have a friend who’s daughter is named Evelyn, it’s such a beautiful name. It’s popular, but not trendy. I find that Sophia and Olivia have more trendiness but some of those older names, although popular, are very classic

I was (and am) one of many Jessicas and it doesn't bother me at all, and never really has. In middle school I did the morning announcements with another Jessica, and we were "Jess and Jess" on the intercom every day...it was fun. MH has a name that can never be found on any gas station key chains (it's ethnic, though not at all uncommon for his ethnicity) and I know that is something he wanted to avoid for our kids.
I know some people feel strongly about their kid not having to go by a last initial or whatever, but this is not a thing that either of us cares about at all. #TeamCommonButNormalName
That said, we have no list yet. R's name was impossible to decide, and the only one we both agreed upon. H has one he likes and I'm a little meh about it, but it might grow on me. Being a teacher, I have a big list of nos based on former students who were not my fave. (Sorry to anyone who likes the name Ethan, but I have had too many nightmare Ethans to ever consider it.) And, of course, I have a long, useless list of girl names I love. *sigh*

stayingblonde, Now I’m very curious, what is your full list of no no names from being a teacher?

DH has scheduled his ✂️✂️ consult. Wahoo! We won’t do it until after DD is born, but at least the consult will be done.
I instituted a “no snip? No touch!” rule for post delivery since I’m not going back on BC, so he has encouragement to do it relatively soon after birth 😂 (normally, it’s no touch until the iud is in, but I’m done with BC now because we’re certain we’re done with kids and want something more permanent)

cmb DH is going to get the snip after this one arrives too! He has time booked off in November so hopefully then. I also refuse to to back on BC. We used condoms between DS and this baby but I don’t want that as a long term plan on its own

We used condoms between DS and this baby but I don’t want that as a long term plan on its own I’m pushing for a Thursday in November, ideally, the weekend before thanksgiving 😂 she’ll be past the 6w peak fussiness, and he can have the first day sans older kids climbing on him. At least while on leave, I can nap when she does during the week if there’s no sleep while he recovers. 🤷🏼♀️ once I go back to work, it’s all hands on deck, and hahaha no to him laying up for a weekend of recovery while wrangling 3 kids on my own once I go back (I’m going back day after Christmas)

I think I'm going to get my tubes removed(?) during my c/s. I swear that's what my OB said. Removed not tied. I don't know what the correct verbiage is though. Is anyone else doing that?

I'm not having mine removed but I am opting for a tubal, C-section or not. I have a trend of saying I'm done having babies and then changing my mind down the road (along with my husband) so since he dragged his feet on the vasectomy, I'll just get it done.

Whenever we are 100% done H is getting the snip whether he wants it or not. We will probably wait til this next baby is 1-2 years old before fully deciding if we are done or not.

OMG DD hasn't asked to nurse since Sunday. IF she doesn't ask today I'm pretty sure we are officially done. It'll be such a relief. Weaning with her was a lot easier than with DS. I learned quickly to ask H to help me with night time with her when the aversions started kicking in.

I giggled at the whether he wants it or not comment. I’m the same. “No, you will get snipped. I had 3 kids. It’s your turn to take one for the team” 🤣 Even on the chance I had a c section and did a tube removal, he’s getting snipped as an extra precaution.

We didn't even have to have a discussion about permanent birth control. My H is a urologist and said it makes the most sense for him to get a vasectomy. He does them all the time. Recovery is easy (don't let the men in your life fool you; for the vast majority there are no complications and it's easy). No long-term hormonal birth control or a big procedure for me. I love it.

Does sex feel different if the guy gets snipped? I always wondered about that.
Edit: okay, well I just learned that there’s still semen without the sperm.
