Well DH has always had a problem, I wouldn’t say problem but maybe grumblings about me being a psychologist by trade (I’m part time and mostly teach) In the past he has accused me of trying to “psychologize” people. At DD’s 15 month appointment I brought up some of my concerns regarding DD and our pediatrician kind of blew off my concerns saying something like clinicians make the worst parents of children...but like in a joking manner. So when I said I wanted to have DD evaluated because of some of her behaviors, he flew off the handle saying, she’s fine and I’m making something out of nothing. He’s like she’s just stubborn, spoiled and doesn’t like to be around strangers. All of this could be true, but there could also be some underlying issues as well. I’m like if we had a leak in the house wouldn’t you fix it (he’s a plumber). I don’t know he made me feel like I’m just over reacting. 🤷🏽♀️ I'm sorry that must be frustrating. I'd get the evaluation at school then because it's $40 and you can use this as an objective starting point. If they say she's fine you back off for a bit. If not you get help.

ttcbabyj I’m annoyed with your pediatrician even if they were mostly joking.

ttcbabyj I’m annoyed with your pediatrician even if they were mostly joking. Me too! She just gave DH more ‘ammo’ to make it seems like I have no cause for being concerned. I mean he acts like I’m walking through the grocery store just diagnosing people...wtf!

I don’t know he made me feel like I’m just over reacting. 🤷🏽♀️ DH was like this when I first mentioned I suspected DS1 was autistic. Refused to listen to me and why I suspected, said I was overthinking. It took two months and another therapist pushing even further eval for him to finally listen to my concerns. Keep pushing. This is going to sound crude, but you can absolutely call for an eval without him agreeing. And fuck that pediatrician. Any issues you suspect deserve further evaluation, and the earlier you catch anything, the better

Hi, I’m just trying to have a baby this month. He could be late and in June. That would annoy me. I told DH I wanted to divorce him today. So things are really great over here 🤷🏻♀️ May is a great time to have a baby! I’m sorry - are you okay? Hugs.

I got a very very faint second like on a FRER. My cycles have been very regular and I am 4 days past due for my period and my first pregnancy with faint positives ended with an early loss so I’m feeling cautious.

J has been obsessed with this book where the firefighters save a baby from a building. Yesterday at the playground he climbed up the ladder and pretended the scoop up a baby and said "I save baby!" Then he carried the imaginary baby back to the car and said he was putting it in the car seat with him. It was so random and adorable and now I'm crying about it.

@starzia there's a thread on GD right now with people venting about their Hs. It may help to get some of it out.
I hope things get better.

This past weekend was the best. One cousin had their first baby and two other cousins got engaged. The two that got engaged are as close to a brother and sister as I will get as an only child. I am so excited and happy for them! There may be dramaz when it comes to actual wedding dates and planning though. We makes me happy that I'm not actually their sister.

Thanks everyone. I am feeling okay about it. We were both pleasantly surprised to get a positive early into the process. I haven't told anyone else IRL so it is good to acknowledge the loss with you all. ❤️

And it was seriously making me laugh. I will return for more. Update on DH. He’s making actual efforts to get help. THIS IS HUGE AND A FIRST. He has an intake for a counselor next Friday . He’s wants to go to AA Saturday. I hope both of these things really happen. If they don’t I’m right back to leaving. Things have been peaceful, with kinda depressed undertones at home. I am hoping things get better. I really hope this is the beginning of a real life change. Remember we are here if you need anything.

I got word that DD's pedi is going to be leaving the practice at the beginning of June. This is the pedi that wanted DD to come in for a weight check at the end of this month and who I wasn't too thrilled with during DD's yearly appointment. I have been seeking recs for a new pedi but haven't pulled the trigger. Her leaving has sealed the deal because the other pedi is about as warm and welcoming as a brick wall. I'm unsure how to handle the weight check appointment. As of right now DD is still super picky and still varies on whether she'll eat day to day, but she has gained some weight and is otherwise healthy and developmentally on target. Would you keep the weight check appointment or cancel?
Also, has anyone changed pedis? Since DD only goes yearly for appointments and then for quick flu shots in the fall would you wait until then to make an appointment? Or do you call now and say you want to switch? If DD is sick I would want to bring her to the new place but I don't know if I can if I'm not a patient yet.

sheilathetank, I would probably find a new pedi and make an appointment for a weight check with them. Then you can get a feel for how seriously they're concerned about weight and go from there. We switched SD's pedi this year (at 12yo) and got in as soon as they were able with the new dr, just to set a baseline with him.

When we moved and switched DS1, they would not consider him a patient for well checks (he could do sick when necessary) until they had his records I’m meh on the weight check. DS2 went from being 45ish% at 1 year, 35ish at 18m and was 25% at 2 years. Our pedi didn’t say a thing because he’s obviously healthy and growing appropriately in height

I’m not sure what I would do about the weight check but I would call the new place and ask to become a new patient now in case there is a wait. I haven’t switched pediatricians but changed PCPs for myself and even thought my first appointment isn’t for months they sent me paperwork to fill out and said I could designate them as my PCP now for insurance purpose and that I could come in for sick visits prior to my first appointment.

I got the results of DD’s language/developmental screening there were no areas of concerned. She actually scored really high on the physical part. Hopefully she will be more athletic than me. 😂 I also sent DD’s pediatrician a long email expresses my concerns about how dismissive she was with my concerns. I was proud of myself. Usually I would just change doctors and just secretly dislikes her. I felt it was helpful to express my concerns.

I also scheduled my FET date, July 11th. I have a couple months to lose at least 15 pounds before possibly getting pregnant with #2
And I finally decided on 2 days at Disneyland for DD’s second birthday. I reserved a character breakfast for a few family members. I’m excited!
