I don't know. I don't think Meghan and Harry have to release anything they don't want to release. I don't think Will and Kate have to release anything they don't want to release. Even royals deserve privacy and to handle family matters internally. I also think it's odd to expect them to handle publicity, information, etc. the way that American celebrities do. It's a different world. I also think it's a lot to expect Will to get over his dislike of the press. It's been 20 years since his mother died, but it still was traumatic and not something I would expect him to ever get over. Harry either. I hope you don't think this is what I was trying to say because it's not. Of course I think they deserve privacy! But if you see your SIL or DIL or even Grand DIL being unfairly attacked by a racially motivated press, why wouldn't you say something to defend her? Assuming the rumors about her being a diva are not true, which I don't believe they are. That's all I'm saying. I didn't. I am just sort of talking out loud here. I think they don't say anything because it's not going to make it better. Their experience with the press probably has taught them that it only makes it worse. Although, breaking that rule and fighting back about Will's supposed affair was a mistake, in my opinion. Now, everyone definitely thinks it's true. I think it's awesome that Harry sued, and won, against the creepers that took pictures of his bedroom. Was that publicized before the judgment came out? I suspect they handle more on the down low than we know. |

How come Harry gets the HRH before his name, but Meghan doesn't? Because that is his birth name technically (at least that’s my understanding). The HRH is part of his full name, where Meghan married into it and so has it as a “last name”. |

I don't find it weird she has taken a lot of heat for being mean and a diva. I know there will be a parade of posters clutching their pearls about me saying that but it’s just not really done. Tons of members of the family get shit press all the time and I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a campaign like this with all these interviews to change public perception. It’s weird. I'm not clutching pearls or disagreeing with you! I wonder if the Firm took this into account with Harry marrying an American celebrity. To be fair, Kate wasn't a celebrity before Will, also Kate, her family and her friends are from England and I think in general, they do things differently than we do in America. (I could totally be wrong!) Does England have an equivalent of the Kardashians? A lot of american celebrity is: "All publicity is good publicity!" The risk Harry took in marrying an American celebrity is that her former co-workers, friends, obviously her family... can do these types of interviews without obvious punishment. Some may risk access to her, and I'm sure we'll find out about that too since they can't be stopped. How many interviews did her family do, to which there was no Royal rebuttal? How is this any different? I think I saw online, that Will tried to squash the cheating rumors but once it made it over here, it blew up! He can't threaten/stop/sue American tabloids the same way he can with their British counter parts. I do agree that none of these "She's the nicest person, you must love her!" stories are going to change the hearts or minds of people who already don't like her. I think she needs to be like Camilla, put her head down, do the work, and let that speak for itself. But she's our "American Princess," and these TV/media companies are going to milk it for everything it's worth! Edit: Sorry this is so late... and as I see, I've repeated other previous posters. |
