Maternity leave in an English country cottage in spring and summer sounds rather lovely. Take the ol pram out for a little stroll of the gardens. Afternoon tea. Scones. I need to move. yeah but no air conditioning. Well not for common folk anyway That's going to be a deal breaker. I'm going to need at least a window unit. Might ruin the whole country cottage aesthetic, but priorities!

Maybe Harry or Doria delivered the baby. Wasn’t there speculation they might have had to see a fertility specialist based on things Megan had said in the past? Maybe the doc who delivered is the fertility person and that would be an overly invasive thing to state.
I’m just spinning here. Because moonbump is ridiculous.

Does “moon bump” come from man on moon conspiracy theories? Probably yes, but out of context “moon bump” makes me laugh—it feels like an accurate description of how pregnancy bumps feel,, complete with little alien inside. I think moon bumps are a type of fake bumps. www.moonbump.com/products

Saw it once and rolled my eyes. Never really looked for it again.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you

Personally I would lump the fake pregnancy people into a similar group as the Barack Obama birthers and I don't think they deserve any notice or attention. ...until they’re elected president... (I don’t want to bring the discussion down. I do agree with you, on principle.) OMG, I just realized this kid could legit run for president one (assuming they don't renounce their US citizenship, and obviously aside from the royal etiquette). I do want an American Prince President! Or Princess, if they ever have a girl. (yes, I know his title most likely won't be Prince, but he's still a blood Prince).

This is totally what I had pictured for myself and DS1 and then it was a crazy hot summer and he was a grumpy colicky little bastard. Kids ruin everything, man.

How do the Brits feel about ice in drinks?

+1 I wanted to wait and not tell anyone until M was born. Mh was not on board. We didn't tell anyone besides my inlaws who are privacy freaks that I was in labor a whopping 3 weeks ago. Which was cool, because my labor was 31 hours long and ended in an emergency csection. I would have been piiiiiissed if people were calling for updates as I was fighting pitocin contractions and 3 failed epidurals. This is similar to what happened to my SIL with her first. And when BIL wouldn’t answer their calls my FIL just showed up. H and I watched and learned. His family didn’t even know when I was in labor until a few hours after I delivered. So....between that and being delivery day twinsies, MM and I are destined to be BFFs.

I don’t think the Supreme Court has defined natural-born citizen to the extent that we know if Prince Jason* could be president. *name I’m pulling for

That is my understanding, anyway. I’m sure the Internet has many more opinions on it!

We're never going to see that nursery. Maybe we will get lucky and see a photo of their living room (parlor?) when Michelle and Barack come to visit and meet the baby 😉

Several people have run for president who were born in foreign soil. Most recently, that included Ted Cruz and John McCain.

But then my labor hit the 24 hour mark and we needed someone to check on our dogs, because at that point I didn't want MH leaving my side (we thought I was starting to progress faster). Jokes on me, I didn't give birth until over 12 hours later. DH could have easily gone and checked on the dogs. Oh well!

How do the Brits feel about ice in drinks? Yes. Our household was pro-ice. I remember having iced drinks but not ice *in* drinks, if that makes sense. Like the drinks would be stored on ice but not served with ice in the glass. A lot of our area was pretty Americanized though.

The John McCain case was strongly challenged though, if I recall, so I see where the confusion comes in. Especially since the answer was that since he was born on a military base it IS US soil.

DS1 has a birth certificate from the US Consulate. The person who presented it to us emphasized that it would allow him to be president some day as if that had been a really big concern for us.

Okay, I have since Googled. I don’t think I’m confused, but I was admittedly not a very good con law student. Wiki, at least, says that there is still argument among legal scholars about whether the question has been resolved, but that it’s always been rendered moot (through lost primaries like George Romney & Cruz, McCain’s 2008 loss, etc.) Anyway, this is a super-hypothetical, and I am open to correction. It probably seems that I’m really argumentative today, but I’m just avoiding doing laundry.

It wasn't taken to court though. It was debated by political people, but no one seriously challenged whether or not he could run.

Can you imagine the shit storm if President Jason Windsor(?) renounced his UK citizenship to live in the US and run for president? Interesting.
