Also if I birthed my kid in my bathtub with my husbands assistance I would want everyone to know how Fucking Strong and Awesome I was. Alas, I was the lady whose stretcher was sprinted into an OR for an emergency csection so fast I ended up needing an X-ray to make sure no tools were left behind because there was no time to count before surgery 🤷🏻♀️ OMG, really?!?! I don’t remember that at all. What a freaky thing to have to be x-rayed for. Geez! |

Yeah it was really bizarre to have the surgeon pop her head over the sheet and tell me they were waiting for an X-ray tech to come up before they could finish stitching me up LOL |

So many congratulations to them. Harry is absolutely amazing in that interview and his shout-out to women everywhere is so empowering.
I think there are no names of birth attendants for their own privacy. Sure they signed NDAs, but now they can also avoid being harassed.

I sort of feel like there’s this sense that they (maybe it’s just Meghan?) want it both ways- like Meghan definitely enjoys the publicity and the gossip and such and then there’s this intense pull towards privacy and secrecy that makes it seem off. I wonder if that’s Harry’s desire more than hers? I don’t know if I’m making sense. I can’t imagine being a public figure like they are, but I also feel like if I was I’d want there to be zero doubt that I birthed my own damn child. I don't think I'd care much about whether or not rando Nancy felt I birthed the kid. Like, bigger fish to fry when you have a newborn, right? I think I'd care. A lot. Even with a newborn. Actually, especially with a newborn. |

The super quick labor idea makes sense to me. I think Kate’s have gone longer and I know doctors count on FTMs taking longer. So maybe the palace was notified of labor but it was middle of the night, can’t publicize until queen knows, whatever. But by the time that happens Megan had been through a crazy fast labor and the announcement had to get updated. Also once the birth happens and everyone has to be updated before it’s publicized I could see it just taking time.
Also I get the not wanting the attendants to be listed. Wasn’t there a Lindo wing nurse who fell for some radio dj’s schtick and gave out info on Kate being in the hospital for HG? I think the nurse committed suicide. They would def be hounded by the press.

I think they should have just skipped the being in labor announcement. It's fairly unnecessary in the grand scheme of things. They started off telling everyone they were going to wait a few days to announce the arrival anyway.

snip  Eh, I get this. Remember the hospital staffer who got pranked after Kate delivered, and later committed suicide? I expect anyone who attended would be relentlessly hounded by the media (*cough* Daily Fail), so I see it as much for the attendants’ privacy as Harry & Meghan’s. |

But it is on the Palace right? Like I can't see Harry calling The Queen and saying she was in labor if the baby was already born. So I don't think this is a Harry/Meghan problem I have no idea, but the weird communication problems are only when H&M are involved. I guess, but I don't think it is H&M doing it unless they are deliberately lying or whatever. It isn't like this is brand new things to the Palace. |

I think it was a nurse in the Lindo Wing when George(??) was born, and some radio DJ who called pretending to be the queen. I say this as a former journalist (not with pride) and having known a former colleague who went on to work for the Mail, and hearing his stories. 100% certain anyone with any name attachment to that birth would be relentlessly and intrusively harassed and “doxxed,” as the kids say these days. |

Is this where I say that I’m fine if Meghan had the baby and then told everyone? Especially considering it was the middle of the night +1 I wanted to wait and not tell anyone until M was born. Mh was not on board. We didn't tell anyone besides my inlaws who are privacy freaks that I was in labor a whopping 3 weeks ago. Which was cool, because my labor was 31 hours long and ended in an emergency csection. I would have been piiiiiissed if people were calling for updates as I was fighting pitocin contractions and 3 failed epidurals. |

I do find it slightly funny that with Will it is all it is ok he doesn't want to tell the press things he keeps things private etc., but H&M do it and it is eye roll inducing.

We told my in-laws and the person watching DS1 when DS2 came. By then I had grown to trust my in-laws more and knew they wouldn't be texting the rest of the family. Then we told a few more people when we needed prayer/support when things went a tad sideways with DS2, but again, those people didn't ask for updates. |
