Today just felt like a whole lot of pushing back to prove the administration doesn't have to follow rules. I am now firmly in the camp of starting impeachment proceedings and to start pushing back hard on all these missed deadlines and court challenges. But for real, what can really be done? (Genuine question). Holding them in contempt does what...? It's pretty fucking frightening because no Republicans hold them accountable and it's showing that the "checks" in the Constitution are not holding much weight when the party in power chooses to do the right thing. That's not to say the Dems shouldn't be yelling it from the rooftops and pursuing every route the Constitution lays out.

There's no source for this, though. Yeah no offense but is anyone other than Dworkin reporting this? I don't trust that guy.

I don't know what the real consequences of not complying are or what the process is beyond holding them in contempt. I do know that all of these actions sure make it seem like someone is not innocent.

ICYMI 45 has been 'the most transparent president ever in the history of this country'
because hiding your tax returns, school records, business dealings, telling staff to lie are all hallmarks of transparency.

Is anyone following She the People?
Rachel was talking about it last night and they have a streaming youtube (I can't do that at work). I'm curious as to what they are saying.

Thread from Tapper - apparently Nielsen was seriously trying to push the whole "Election security is national security" thing and do something about interference in our elections, and was frustrated by lack of support from WH:

I'm very happy that the House is preventing the GOP from enacting their bullshit legislative agenda but as someone for whom a big part of this board was following Congress (as much as the shitshow that is the WH), it's just...different.
I can't even remember the last time I thought about the Senate doing something. Now it's all just scheduling House hearings and arguing across the aisle about who said what.

Well a third of the senate is campaigning for president /sarc Itβs Mitch not allowing shit to come to the floor is the major reason
