No big plans today. I’m going to give the kids a day to chill out here. I need to find a recipe for some kind of lemon dessert for Easter, and I want to bring the watercolor of the house to get matted and framed.

Thank you! I am torn between a lemon pie or a lemon ricotta cheesecake.

lfig mh is driving to and from your region today going to look at a wetland. He'll probably get rained on the whole day and be miserable tonight.

Waiting for my shots. I'm a bit late this morning since Cadence wanted braids for her Easter Party today. She never wants her hair up anymore, except for the day I need to be somewhere early. 🙄 Plus, she wanted pigtails, then braid them. She looks like Tori Spelling when she was on Saved by the Bell as the nerdy chick. Oh well.

Morning! Today is my Friday, our office is closed tomorrow. I have a feeling everyone will leave early as well.
Evie is staying at my dad and step moms tonight since they have her today and tomorrow. H is playing softball tonight for the first time in a year and half. I have the house to myself and am SO excited!

Morning. Not much on the agenda today. My dad wants he kids this afternoon to dye Easter eggs, so I’ll have a few hours to myself!
I’ve been in the mood to organize and purge lately but now that i have the time, i don’t feel like it.

i am not prepared for Easter at all. There is an animal sanctuary doing an egg hunt and tour on Saturday that we might go to or its going to the local farm. I have bought stuff here and there for basket, i wonder what I bought and if I have candy for eggs. Also I need to do a basket for SD too since she will be here. And i just remembered that I have easter books on the shelf that I haven't gotten out.

Sunny41, do you have Party Citys there? I like them for filling the eggs because you can buy individual candies and toys.

We normally hide eggs in our yard, but Cadence and I are headed to my mom's in the morning and she's going to hide eggs in her house for her, so we'll probably skip it this year, but who knows. I may change my mind last minute.

Morning. It's supposed to be Col's first t-ball practice tonight and much like last year, it's looking like a rain-out. Poor kiddo, he's so excited and it was the only thing getting him out of bed today - he wasn't happy about going to day care. Kid would spend all his off days at home watching TV if we let him. We talked last night about going to the movies and about how Wonder Park may be a bit sad, but he's pretty focused. And so damn excited, it's adorable. I've already reminded him that Mommy and Daddy are both healthy but if we need to, we can reinforce that at lunch afterwards.
Chase threw a fit this morning when I hugged DH in front of him. This Mommy phase of his is brutal and makes Colin's seem like nothing. I'd say I'm surprised but I'm not, he always makes Colin look so easy in retrospect.
In other news I ran 2 miles this morning a bit faster than my mile the other day and everything still feels good. I must have looked like a nut, smiling on the treadmill at the gym. LOL

Sunny41 the knee isn't good. He still has a lot of pain and says he wishes he had never done it. His doctor told him it is a long recovery, but I don't think he was expecting this. He still takes 1/2 a tramadol most nights for the pain and he can tell me when the weather is changing. He's concerned about softball because he can't react like he used to. He's the pitcher, so he's going to use the nets to stand behind and get a pinch runner. I told him at some point, he has to decide when he can't do it anymore. klong11 H gets up super early and hides eggs in our backyard. We do a little basket with a few things for her to open (tshirt, the larger eggs, maybe an LOL), then she goes to the backyard and hunts all the eggs with too much candy in them.

mwhip, one of the schools was doing a fundraiser where you pay them and they come the night before and hide eggs all over your yard for the next morning. I should have done that! I may just go out the night before and hide some in the backyard and hope the night creatures don't steal them!

I may just go out the night before and hide some in the backyard and hope the night creatures don't steal them! There are several organizations doing that here this year. H hides ours in the backyard, on the deck, fence and swingset mainly. And he usually goes out around 5 and comes back in and goes to bed, so that nothing steals them. Evie loves it!

Do you do Easter Egg hunts at home or just fill eggs in the basket? I like putting the eggs outside and having him find them. One year when SD was older I did a scavenger hunt with clues in the eggs to find her basket I put cute little eggs shaped like bunnies and chicks (filled with Andes candies bc my kids love them) scattered in their baskets, and this year the weather doesn’t look great for Easter so we’ll do an in-the-house hunt that morning (quarters in regular colored eggs and a five in 2 golden eggs). My cousin is hosting this year and said she will do an egg hunt for the kids, but I don’t know if she’ll fill them.

Hello ladies my old friends. It's time to talk to you again.
Eggs that are from the Easter Bunny are hidden around the living room at night after the kids go to bed for them to find in the morning. Usually only about 2 dozen. Eggs for the big hunt with cousins are hidden outside during the day. After we eat the kids go play together in one of the back bedrooms. The shades are drawn and the adults all go out together and hide the eggs all around the backyard.

I'm caught up at work (a miracle--I know) so I'm contemplating ditching out for a long lunch to get a massage. I usually don't even take a lunch break so I don't feel any guilt about this.

Josie has been asking some tough Easter bunny questions: how does the Easter bunny know what I’d like in my basket (answer: he always brings spring and summer stuff)
how does he get in the house (answer: magic— I’m going to need more on this soon)
how does the bunny get my basket every year (I don’t have a good answer for this yet bc I like to fill the baskets ahead of time, so I can’t say let’s leave them out on the counter overnight or that he keeps them all year and brings them back on Easter and I’ve been using the same baskets since they were both born bc they were expensive!)
