Has anyone taken their LO to see Wonder Park? Colin seems interested and I was thinking of taking him on Friday since it's supposed to rain. He's never been to a theater before and he's excited to check it out. Just curious if it's a decent movie - I want this to be fun for him!

Hi hi. It’s a rainy, dreary day here. I had my 16 week OB appt this morning. Time is flying! Baby’s doing good, and I’m convinced it’s a boy. She told me to take magnesium daily for my headaches so I’m really hoping that will help.
We have a fundraiser dinner tonight and I have no idea what to wear. I’m at such an awkward stage where nothing fits so I’ll be trying on my closet when I get home.

joelies, I haven't seen it, but I heard that someone (I think the mom?) has is sick (cancer maybe?) and that some sensitive kids had trouble with it.

joelies, I've heard it focuses on fear of a parent leaving due to illness (dying). While Cadence isn't super sensitive, we'll probably skip this one.

That’s the one thing I got so far two very very very pink princes dresses, some fake make up and a crown. My parents are getting here a jewellery box, my sister is getting her a doll. Both my aunts, my other sister, my nieces and all of the in-laws are asking for ideas....

Hey. I had a meeting with my director this morning about the pay issue. She said she is unable to give me a raise right now, but the feedback will cause her to look at how she does merit raises this year differently. That doesn’t really do anything for me right now, but hopefully my raise is better than it was last year to get me ahead at least a little bit. I’m not completely satisfied but what else can I do besides quit, which I also don’t want to do. Maybe I’ll start looking for a full time position later, idk. Nothing planned for the afternoon, it’s supposed to start raining again so we will be inside. tgrimes I’m sorry H isn’t feeling well, again. I hope the ent has something helpful for you. nam2013 I agree that the first color was a bit too bright, I like the more toned down color better. It’s cute!

I’m eying this one... the stories can be separated, so it can also become a little village .

nam2013 does she have a tea set? Or a little chest to put all her treasures? She could keep her fancy dress up stuff and accessories in there.

We have a big bench chest that contains dress up clothes & games. ETA this is such a FWP. I’m also not opposed to asking for useful things, but a lot of stuff Ds has worn/used is still in perfectly good condition!

Good morning! I feel like I’ve been here but haven’t been checking in enough. We’re going to try a new zoo today bc it looks like the last sunny day in a while. Oooh where are you going? #Nosey. We did the Trevor zoo in Millbrook, New York. i think it’s a little closer to me than it is to you. It was super adorable, totally inexpensive, and such a great place for the kids to get some energy out. We saw lemurs and red pandas, wallabies and emus. The Beardsly zoo is next on our list.

Col was at Beardsley yesterday. They have a great carousel in the middle of the zoo that the kids love, plus you have to drive through the park on your way out and there are a few playgrounds you can stop at before you leave. They do cute birthday parties there too.

We got the watercolor of the house today! I am in love with it, and will happily recommend the artist for anyone who is considering it. She was so easy to work with, helped with my many questions and also offered really great advice!!

I still don’t think Josie has sat through an entire movie—home or the theatre. She’s loses her mind at the idea of it, and then when she works up the courage to try to watch, she cries/yells through most of what she watches including the opening production credits before the movie (what’s that called – like the lions or Cinderella‘s castle or the Pixar lamp swinging)

nam2013 Your hair looks great! I'm glad they fixed it so quickly for you! guster Evie hasn't watched an entire movie either. She will watch Bunk'd, but I'm pretty sure that's the only show I can put on that she will watch. YouTube videos...different story. I got drug into a meeting at 10:15 (which I wasn't initially invited to), that turned into lunch. 4 hours later, back at my desk. Trying to get all caught up now.

TV shows are the standard here (for both kids actually). There’s something about the idea of a movie that is super scary to her. I shouldn’t complain. The shows they watches are entertaining and they are both learning lots of cool things (mostly about animal and science facts ), but sometimes I wish we could sit down and watch the latest Pixar together as a family. On YouTube, it’s mostly alphabet or number videos, like pancake manor or scratch garden. Bounce patrol and Storybots are still favorites

I’m going to talk about our late lunch for minute. We have been looking for a place to make our go to and i think this is it!! We got the kids a bunch of appetizers to split. I don’t ever serve tater tots (it’s not something I grew up with so I never think to buy them) but we got them a tater tot appetizer. Half of them covered in bacon, cheeze wiz, jalapeños, in onions, and the other half covered and thousand Island dressing, corn beef, and sauerkraut. Amazing!! We also had tuna tacos, a balboa with truffle potato chips, & an order of buffalo cauliflower. I could go on and on about how good everything was. I finally feel like we found a restaurant that’s super close by that‘s family friendly but has really interesting food.

We don’t go to the typical movies yet either. They have a special morning 4 times a year where they show movies/tv shows focused especially on <6, those have been fun. They’re not as long, they don’t put out the light completely, nor the sound as hard.
I’ll admit that I’ve sheltered the kids on what there allowed to watch. Disney often seems to scary/sad to me! I kinda wish the new lion king would come out next summer in stead of this one, I think ds would be terrified by some parts.

The theater near us does a sensory showing of whatever kids movies playing most Sundays. The lights are on but lowered, The sound isn’t as harsh, and they don’t care if kids talk or get up and move around. I wondered if that might work for Josie so I took her to see the Lego movie, and we made it through five minutes of it. It’s definitely a phobia she’s developed. We do watch all the trailers for the movies coming out and those are fine, but not in it’s full length for some reason.
