Back from the eye doctor. Got a new script for both my contacts and glasses and she suggested I wear readers when I'm at work on my computer or phone.
I was also asking her about Cadence and her tablet usage. She recommended blue ray blockers, so I'll be getting some for her.

cagoldi that's crazy that he reached out to you. klong11 tell me about blue ray blockers, I've never heard of them and Evie loves her tablet. Add that H and I both wore glasses, I would like to try to delay getting them for her as long as possible.

Did I tell you guys we did ancestry DNA? My results were 56% English/Welsh and 44% Irish/Scottish. They might as well just send it back saying 100% chance of skin cancer. Anyway, some guy messaged me saying he was hoping to find his biological parents (he was adopted) and we are apparently first cousins. He’s a year younger than my mom. There are some pretty weird details, and I offered him what I could, but my mom was in an orphanage when she was an infant and although she was raised by family, a lot of her childhood has some question marks, too. Weird. There’s clearly some connection, but so far we can’t figure out what it is. Lol at saying 100% chance of skin cancer. Both of my kids are screwed because both my dad & MH's dad have had melanoma and my MIL and MH have had skin cancer removed. One of the elected officials I work with that I don't like was contacted by his daughter that he didn't know he had last year. He had apparently cheated on his wife 30 years ago. So crazy. After my mom and her sisters went to the orphanage, their mom went to an insane asylum and their dad disappeared for several years. So our best guess is her mom or her dad a child nobody knows about? But again, just a hunch.

cagoldi that is the cutest story ever (about X "scolding" everyone). S recently has started baby talk for some reason and I constantly tell him to stop. Now I hear B, in full baby talk, yelling at S for using baby talk, cracks me up every time. cagoldi tgrimes , my friend's cousin had someone reach out to him after doing the DNA test. Turns out his High School girlfriend just up and moved away one day when they were like 16. This was late 70s, so no easy way to track her down, etc. He moved on, got married, had kids, etc. Turns out she moved b/c she was pregnant and she never told him. So he had an almost 40 year old kid he never knew about. He was apparently dropped off at a convent and then adopted. Could you imagine just finding out you have a 37 year old kid? I mean, it can't happen to us as women, but still... Edited to add this guy was a total family man too and it broke his heart to know this happened.

jewels That's so crazy! It happened to my friends that lived down the street. It was before DNA testing though. One day they got a knock on their door and "Surprise, I'm your daughter from Greece!" Apparently his old girlfriend got pregnant and never told him. Shortly after she found out, he moved to the states. We were in high school when that happened.

mwhip basically computers, tablets, and phones all emit blue light. Staring at screens all day make the eyes weaker and that blue light makes it worse I guess. So blue ray blockers block that blue light, so your eyes aren't having to work so hard. I actually just bought myself some from diff eye, so I may see if Cadence will use them, if not I'll let her pick some from Amazon.

Gardenias are up there in my top five favorite flowers. I had one in my hair for my wedding and a few of them in my bouquet. The smell is just amazing.

And the messed up part is that is varies by elementary school withing the district, so one of S friends is going to a different school across town and they already have their date!

Our district had it so every elementary had it on the same day.

I’m so proud of myself. Tonight I had a meeting at DS1’s school, a gymnastics meeting, and a t-ball meeting, all at the same time. Old me would have run myself all over the place. New me blew off all 3 and is having wine while making a nice dinner. I have decided that if I am given less than 2 weeks notice, I will feel no guilt not doing it.

Poor DH. To raise funds for their holiday party, his squadron 'party planning committee' (picture The Office here) volunteered everyone to man the concession stands at the local minor league baseball games (the stadium pays the organizations X amount per volunteer, per game). So tonight was the training where volunteers learn how to serve nachos, hotdogs, and beers. They were *told* 5-7 pm; when they got there, the trainer said it would be a minimum of 4 hours.

kim22 good for you! Enjoy your evening in. There have been a few 'meetings' this year that we skipped for various reasons and I never feel like the info provided is that critical. An email would usually suffice; I think sometimes people just want to hear themselves talk.

Omg, how awful (and a little comical)! The national Honor society used to serve concessions in high school at Navy games...and we just showed up with no training. That prob explains why the lines were so long. I'm now wondering if we earned funds that way or what🤔

Tuesdays are so long with tball. It was sprinkling and chilly but not as cold as last week. We chatted with some other dad's and they actually live nearby even though our practice spot is in a different town..well 3 highway exits away. Then CFA and kids are just now in bed. I really need to switch to maternity pants, I tried to squeeze into just washed black jeans today and it was a lonnnng day. Or it could just warm up so I can switch to dresses for the next 6 months.

So today did not go well. They didn’t give me my updated job description. So I scheduled a meeting with the bigger boss (C) and my old boss to discuss options. That turned into an S storm.
C called old boss in and talked with her and then called new boss in to talk to him. Everyone knows I’m unhappy. Old boss asked if I was willing to deal with it for 3 months to get past a very busy time. I said I would discuss all the options on Friday. I want to know what they are and I want things in writing. If the Friday meeting goes wrong I’m calling HR.
