mwhip,Happy Birthday! guster,I can't believe it has been a year already. You definitely need to share some more pics. The ones you have shared look so nice. You’re sweet! Thank you! It feels like we’re at a snails pace, but I’m in for the long-haul here.

Morning! After we dropped H at school, S and I went to Aldi. She really wanted to get this pack of cherry tomatoes, and though I knew she wouldn’t like them I bought them anyway. As soon as we got home she ate one and spit it out immediately. If you need any summer flower bulbs or peonies, Aldi has them for less than $2 which is a great deal! H has pictures today, and of course I forgot about it until this morning so I had to cobble together an outfit. It’s ok, they’ll turn out cute I’m sure.
Last night it snowed 😡. It was mostly just a dusting but it stuck. It should be melted by 1pm though, so I can’t be too mad at it.

At work. Needed a break from data entry so here I am. C told me he couldn't hear out of one ear this morning so the sinus pressure is still there. He should be almost done with this though since he is at the coughing phase and after a day of that I started getting better. He told me he doesn't want to go to karate tonight because he won't be able to hear the instructor. I suspect it is because he got some new Pokémon cards and wants to play with those. We can go to karate tomorrow though so I won't push it.
Dh texted about a 1mile family run/walk on Saturday that gives prizes to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd 5yos of each gender (and other ages as well). He said C is sure to win one and would be thrilled, which is he probably right since he is always in the top 3 for his age at the Halloween race. I told him to go ahead and register. Lets see if he actually does. I'm sick of being the person that has to do everything and we have a bday that day midday so I don't really care either way.

I am not getting too excited though because last year we had a massive blizzard around 4/20ish.

I actually want to try and plant some things and clean out some of the beds, but it’s too cold to be outside and I don’t want all of my hard work to be undone with the snow

Ooh good to know about peonies trtlcrzy , maybe I'll go take a look. I love them and my parents have them in Maine, but this is about as far south as they will grow. So this year is my last chance, lol. I want to plant some gardenias this year near the pool/hot tub, I think that would be lovely to be out there late in the day/evening and have that scent.

I love gardenias. Too cold here for them, but I could put them in a container and bring them inside for the winter. Eta: I also love peonies. I have bought 3 different ones this spring. I can’t get them out into our ground quite yet so I potted them and have them in my garage and basement window.

C is currently car-napping in the garage; she's been battling a cold and went to bed early last night, and as a result was up bright and early this morning. In the meantime, I've had a quiet lunch (and my food all to myself!) and am trying to figure out summer camp for the kids. Our preschool is offering a session for C's age for the first time so I will definitely take them up on that.

It had gotten nice and big and I was doing a good job with it, then we had a couple bad freezes that killed it. Oops. I bought a new one this past weekend and am going to remind myself of this next winter.

M & I went to Kindergarten round up this morning. It was intense.
I'm at work now. I spilled my bag of cantaloupe all over my keyboard so I'm going to try and unscrew the back of it and clean it. Whoops.

Thanks everyone! Let me tell you, turning 42 is not exciting.
I think I'm skipping the gym and going to eat Greek for lunch. Then tonight going to eat Italian.

Also hi! Crazy busy day, that included a work shift from one to the other, which always drains me because I need to switch focus from PR/managing stuff to troubled teens. My parents and sisters are coming over for dinner tonight, which will be fun. Plus my sister really wanted Chinese (more Indonesian style over here) because she can’t get it in Norway, so no cooking for me!

cagoldi I was wondering the other day, and keep meaning to ask, how are you holding up these days? Kids are healthy, I’m healthy. **knocks on all the wood** Still adjusting to this crazy schedule with my school stuff back in the mix, but having my mom here with P has helped. We’re still waiting for movement on X’s therapy schedule, but I’m fine with how things are at the moment. We get his autism study results next Thursday. Thanks for checking on us!

I'm here. My cousin is supposed to come see the house and have me check her carseat install so I spent all morning cleaning house. Mostly floors but also emptying some boxes I had A carry up for me. I did 2 loads of laundry and worked for 1.5 hours and now I'm resting before I tackle the garage.
My dogs are so over the back and forth, as am I. I decided when i let them out this morning I'd just walk them to my parents instead of putting them in my car. Well Zorro caught on half way and bolted back to the new house. Flash and i chased him all the way back and he way standing at the door just waiting to get back in. Poor things. Hopefully A can get our fence put in this weekend. I just want my babies here all the time. Their behavior is so much better away from my moms ratty dogs.

X does this thing where he gives really impassioned “speeches.” He’ll go on for a whole minute without using any real words, but he’s into whatever it is he is trying to say and gestures the entire time.
His teachers told me he’s been “scolding” his friends when they’re not quiet during circle time. He does his whole “speech” and the only intelligible word is “listen” at the very end.
They just sent me a video of him sitting on his teacher’s lap lecturing everyone and wagging his finger.
Dog only knows what he’s saying.

Did I tell you guys we did ancestry DNA?
My results were 56% English/Welsh and 44% Irish/Scottish.
They might as well just send it back saying 100% chance of skin cancer.
Anyway, some guy messaged me saying he was hoping to find his biological parents (he was adopted) and we are apparently first cousins. He’s a year younger than my mom. There are some pretty weird details, and I offered him what I could, but my mom was in an orphanage when she was an infant and although she was raised by family, a lot of her childhood has some question marks, too. Weird. There’s clearly some connection, but so far we can’t figure out what it is.

Both of my kids are screwed because both my dad & MH's dad have had melanoma and my MIL and MH have had skin cancer removed. One of the elected officials I work with that I don't like was contacted by his daughter that he didn't know he had last year. He had apparently cheated on his wife 30 years ago. So crazy.

I had a lot of fun with my MIL last night. We had a few martinis with our sushi & since it was happy hour our entire bill was only $50! Then we walked across the street to the theater. My old dance director from OU is now the Dean of the College of Fine Arts and she caught me while we were finding our seats. I got to chat with her for 10 minutes and it really made me miss the dance world. At intermission I bought us drinks while my MIL went to the restroom. I sat my stuff down on a cocktail table next to an old guy taking pictures and politely asked him not to catch any of me drinking alcohol. We started talking and it turns out he's the director of the school of music. So when my MIL finds me I introduce her. He was very nice and provided us with some faculty gossip. Now my MIL thinks I'm really well connected at OU since I introduced her to the Dean and one of the directors. Lol.
