I’m back at my other house. DS had a late morning game so they left early and I just cleaned up a bit and came home. It was pretty smoky by the beach house from a forest fire that is pretty far from there and it was starting to rain and I was over C’s sleep strike.

I went downstairs to find some kitchen stuff i needed and ended up moving shelves and purging crap. So much crap! But the basement looks less like a bomb wen th off. So that's good.

I just went to the big consignment sale...I may have over purchased, but got some super cute stuff. N is set with dresses for summer, got j some Sam Smith Adidas sneakers for $4.50 and even got myself some maternity tops for like $2 each. I had to get some stuff in bigger sizes because I just couldn't leave behind..no wonder I have issues with kids clothes taking over my life..I can't wait to sell stuff next year once we know what we can purge.

I think my child gave up naps when daylights savings came. I'm sad but glad I won't have to fight a big change with K next year

I got my mani:pedi at a new place today. After the gel was cured, the technician had me wash my hands and then dip them in a warm crock pot of parafin. I’m used to the warmed up gloves with the parafin so this threw me! It was vaguely terrifying to dip your hands in a full container of simmering wax!

The little ones slept in, but Dude was up with the sun. Pete went to the gym, I did meal prep and batch cooking. I was all excited to tryZumba Strong, but the class was cancelled. I’m going to need to cobble together a workout now that P and X are napping. We’re meeting chrisy01 and some other friends at the park later. I think I am just bringing a giant box of Uncrustables, some Cuties, and veggie straws and letting them have a picnic. They built this park right behind our house and it’s been awesome now that the days are longer. We’re there almost every night after dinner. |

Gymboree clothes fans. My local Gymboree closes in 2 weeks. They said they are getting a delivery next week and that’s it. Just a heads up flamingo |

Cadence read a book last night! It was just a Bob book, but it was the first time she had ever seen it and she was able to read all the words!!

Ithe gloves my usual salon uses gloves are single use and just as warm and softening, but what about the same crock pot for everyone? My salon dips out the wax into a plastic bag, then I put my hands or feet in accordingly. Then they squish the wax all around till it hardens. So, it’s single use. I would be weirded out by reusing. |

RE: paraffin treatments, usually it's wax-in-a-bag like lfig describes, then they put the warm 'mittens' on. I know I've dipped in the past--the salon we use in Maine, I think? Maybe I'm too trusting but I don't recall giving it much thought. |

My eldest nephew G graduates in May from college with a BS in Accounting. I’m trying to figure out if I can go. It would be a nice surprise for him and my sister.

I have a new niece! She has no name yet but was born about 45min ago, my sister's 3rd girl. She's beyond adorable. Also, my sister always swoops in with a baby like 6-12 (or less) hours after getting admitted. This does NOT happen to me (other than L's scheduled c-section), all the more confirmation that this body is not meant to push a baby out.

What a day! C woke up sobbing that his ear hurt and would not calm. He had an ear infection once as a baby so this was out of the norm. He has the same cold Dh and I have but I worried about infection so we dosed him with ibuprofen and headed to urgent care to check. Of course he’s as smiley as can be at the Drs and his ears are a little red but otherwise fine so we looked like fools. Then we spent the day with a kid who was overtired but refusing to nap and wants to play but gets upset over every little thing. He told me he hated me and he was running away in the night because I took a marble out of his job after he called me a loser when we played a game. It was in a very taunting way so I wasn’t letting it slide. Ten mins til bedtime. Hopefully he’s fine tomorrow and can go to school. If not Dh will stay home with him since I haven’t been in the office for a week and am drowning. Oh and at urgent care they asked if there were any pets in the home and it took a second for us to say no. I’ve been missing Max a lot lately so that was hard. I also hate that we are a “no pets family” right now. It’s just not the right time to add to our family. Congratulations wineallthetime! Way to go C klong11! I’m jealous cagoldi. I miss having parks in walking distance so much. I have some regrets leaving Boston but know it was the best decision for our family right now but I’m a city girl and need walkable places. |

My sister had an at home one many years ago and I would just keep dipping my feet until there was a really thick layer on, lol. |
