I have a prenatal massage in about an hour. I really hope that it's a good one!

For some reason I cannot stop coughing today. I think it might be something in my office because it got better once I turned a fan on. It's that dry, not-at-all productive cough that's just annoying as shit... blah.
Don't mind me venting.
Hope you have a great massage, @easilyunamused!

cakewench, sorry for the cough. I have a perpetual running nose that is driving me insane as well! The massage was relaxing. I was hoping they'd have the set up to where I could lay on my stomach, but they did not. I should've asked ahead of time. 🤷🏼♀️ The therapist kept trying to small talk me, nothing is relaxing about small talk with a stranger, lady.

@easilyunamused, I've been wondering about setting up a massage for myself as well. It's been ages since I've been! But wasn't sure whether I'd like it while pregnant since normally I lay on my stomach for a good part of the massage and that's a no go right now.. I like how my massage therapist never tries to make small talk! cakewench, hope your cough gets better!

muscari, some places have special tables where you can lay on your stomach. I need to find one of those! Laying on my side while getting a back massage wasn't as satisfying. It was lovely and much needed, but not as good as the regular ones.

As difficult as I found it to find this one massage therapist I felt comfortable with, I don't think I have it in me to scout for those special tables?? I can imagine tis not the same on your side though. Now I have no means of transportation until I get the okay to drive the car again with my ankle so maybe it won't be until after the baby is here anyway that I'll be able to make the appointment. Something to look forward to right?

I need to schedule a massage. I'm going to see if my favorite spa has the table/cushion with cutouts. If not, one of the physical therapy places here does and has similar pricing. It probably wouldn't be quite as relaxing as the spa, but a massage while laying on my stomach sounds amazing.

Add me to the massage desiring list. Unfortunately, in the country where I live there are very few prenatal massage options. Most places will flat out refuse because they believe massage causes preterm labor...especially foot massage. So you basically have to go to a certified doctor to get a prenatal massage and I am just too lazy to figure that out. Will def be getting massages again after I have this baby though, they are so cheap and good here. I can't believe it's already the last week of June! I will hit 24 weeks/viability on Friday, which I am so excited about. For a while it didn't look like we'd get to this point, so every additional week from now is just better and better news

I am desperate for a massage. My therapist will do them in first tri, though I am almost out anyway. Unfortunately, she's on vacation. I somehow got a muscle spasm in my shoulder blade, and I can't turn my head. Oof.
Also, random question, but I have been having intermittent pain in my right ovary, similar to ovulation pain, but then last night it got really severe for about an hour. Googling tells me it's RLP, but then also says it shouldn't last longer than a few seconds. Help??!?

Taitai, first gonne have to see when I'll be allowed to drive again .. as otherwise I won't really have an easy way to get there and back home which would make a relaxing massage not so relaxing after all haha.

ironunicorn, Seems a little early for RPL though, and since it lasted for so long..? Then again I honestly wouldn't know.. I didn't get RLP until recently myself, and I mostly notice it when I make certain movements. Early on in the pregnancy I had pains near/in my left ovary as well which was due to a cyst. It resolved itself over the course of the first 4 orso months of pregnancy (or at least I've not seen it clearly on scans no more, the pain luckily went away and no one ever mentioned it again heh). Worth mentioning it at your next appointment and perhaps they could do an (extra) U/S to double check? Always nice to get to see the babe too right?

It was pretty intense, so I am considering calling my OB. I have an ultrasound scheduled on July 5, though, so I don't know if I should just wait til then anyway. My last scan was at 8w3d, and my ovaries were quiet. Can cysts develop during pregnancy?

But you did a FET right? Plus, if your oves were quiet earlier on.. Google tells me that ovarian cysts cán develop during pregnancy but then usually during 2nd trim. If you are feeling uncomfortable or worried I'd put in a call to your OB and see what they say! They may be fine with you waiting till your appointment next week, which then may put your mind at ease some. And if they do want to see you sooner, then that's good to know too, right?

ironunicorn I had a really large ovarian cyst on my left ovary during my first pregnancy with DS. It was actually an endometrioma (chocolate cyst), which was caused by my endometriosis. It was there before I got pregnant, but it grew a lot during the first trimester. I think it got to like 10 or 12cm, so they actually removed it when I was 14 weeks. It's really really rare for cysts to get big enough during pregnancy to require surgical removal, and if they haven't seen anything on your ovaries yet - I would think you'd be okay. Mine started off at 7cm during my first scan at 7.5 weeks - just as a point of reference. Another thing it could be is maybe kidney stones? I heard that the elevated progesterone levels during pregnancy can slow things down and cause them. I actually have a tiny kidney stone in my right kidney that was detected at about 17 weeks, but it hasn't been bothering me. I think if it still gives you pain, might be good to call the OB and just have things checked out. They probably can't do much for you - even if it is a cyst or a kidney stone, but at least you'd know?

muscari I hope you are allowed to drive again soon so you can get your massage! Heal up ankle! Me too, being constricted to your home is no fun, makes for a really small world - but you know all about that For me it's just been 5 weeks, I can't imagine what it must be like for themajority of your pregnancy. I think I'd go batshitcrazy. We've been ordering our groceries online these past weeks to where MH just has to drive by the pick-up point to load them in the car and be done (so handy!!) and he really does NOT understand why it's been such a big deal and even fun to tag along. For him tis just sitting in the passanger seat, for me it was getting to see something else besides my home and garden LOL I really hope you'll be allowed to go on modified bedrest or even less strict then that asap yourself and can broaden your horizon some again

ironunicorn, tinges of pain and uncomfortable stretching will definitely be happening those first few months while your uterus grows and pushes your organs away. So maybe it could just be something like that? But no harm in contacting your OB and seeing if it could be a concern.

Taitai and muscari, I feel for you ladies and your limited mobility. I'm stuck in the house from the heat and am stir crazy! So I couldn't imagine how y'all feel. Also, the spa I went to said they don't give massages until after 16 weeks. That's interesting about the foot massage Taitai. You're in Asia right? They are serious of their foot reflexology.

I called the OB nurses' line, and she said it most likely is RLP. However, if it happens again as severely, or if I am concerned, I can call back and get seen. So, I am waiting it out for now and hoping it doesn't happen again so intensely. Thanks for the help, ladies!

@easilyunamused Yep - We're in Asia and they definitely are very into reflexology and take it seriously. I personally don't really subscribe to that, but I do love foot massages ironunicorn I think that is a good plan. I would (and still do) get a lot of painful twinges and feelings due to stretching pains.

The baby is head down and butt up! Perfect birthing position. And the tech said he's pretty wedged in my pelvis, so he should stay put. 🤗I'm pretty relieved!

Is anyone dealing with visitors to the house from out of state after baby is born? We have my mom, MIL, and FIL coming out at separate times. That's like a months worth of visitors and I'm not really looking forward to it. Especially when my FIL is the type to just show up within a days notice.
We tried to explain to him that our moms will come out first, and we don't want overlapping. But he sometimes hears only what he wants to.
