Anyone else getting fairly deep questions from their kids? This week (mind you it's only Wednesday) we have already covered transgender, racism, and Trump. The transgender thing came up because he came home and said "mom, did you know since you're a girl you can never be a boy?". And racism because Trump. He heard us talking politics the other day and asked who Trump is and didn't ask much more. This morning in the car he says "Mom, talk to me about Trump". After I told him some basics he said "If I ever see him I'm going to do my karate on him!". I asked that he not talk about Trump at school.

Yes wedding. We’ve covered same sex marriage and how babies get in bellies here. Also a lot of questions about religion and praying and churches (we don’t go to any house of worship and he could not understand the concept) |

Babies, religion, and various types of marriages.
I have to watch how we say/phrase things since he currently goes to a religious school. While most of the teachers are very supportive of most types of relationships, the church’s view is not.
LO has asked very deep questions. And follow up questions.

Col has deep questions but normally no attention span to listen to answers. We do talk about God and death a lot, he stays interested there.

Morning. It’s supposed to rain all day today causing all sorts of fun flooding. H finally has school this morning...and then my sister text me and asked if my nephew could come over for the morning. He’s got a tummy bug and she can’t miss work. Fx he doesn’t get my kids sick because that’s the last thing I need right now.

wedding yes to deep questions. About death, politics & babies etc. We told ds that if two people really love each other they can make a baby. Mommy has mini eggs & daddy has seeds. Dad puts a seed in mom & mommy grows the seed/egg in her belly. We then looked at a YouTube video of an in uterine baby. I omitted the technical part 🙄. I did explain that sometimes a doctor can do it, if it is difficult or if there’s no daddy (single mom friends & lesbian friends with two kids).

Morning! Kids both had school this morning, ran some errand and caught up on grey’s anatomy. Ds brought home a friend from school. This is his first play date without a parent present. My sister is coming over for sushi tonight!

Morning! Happy Birthday! joelies Enjoy your day. M is very interested in death and heaven. We have a save the date for a family wedding on the fridge and last night he asked if the girl was in heaven. 🤦🏽♀️ We talked a little about Trump when they covered presidents during president’s day week. He didn’t believe me that Trump is not a good person. |

I generally tend to not discuss politics, religion, pregnancy, basically anything I don't want to discuss with Evie, I don't discuss with H. Although at times, my kid is probably more understanding than my spouse. I just avoid any kind of potentially confrontational subject. |

joelies Happy Birthday! T asks a lot of questions but not usually deep, more like “if a bear fights a lion, who will win?” My 11 year old told me the other day that he thinks he is going through puberty so he’s sorry if he’s mean to me. I told him I didn’t kill him when he was a colicky baby who didn’t sleep for 6 months so hopefully I won’t kill him now. Taking T and C to Dave and Busters after C wakes up. DH and DS1 leave for a tournament tomorrow. T is sad that he’s not going because he thinks hotels are the best thing ever but DD has 2 special training clinics this weekend and I trust no one to watch my dog so we are staying home. House appraisal was yesterday, if the number comes back good, we close next week!

Morning. Yesterday j's teacher emailed that he called a friend stupid randomly. Ohh boy, he got an earful last night. He claimed he forgot what happened, but then when he realized he wasn't getting a snack until he remembered he fessed up. He claims he didn't know what it meant, and he apologized. Hoping that is the end of that.
We have been getting some deep questions. He has known about general politics since we see motorcades. But we haven't tackled death really, we tried watching Coco and had to turn it off. I am apparently not comfortable talking about religion, so need to figure out how we plan to address some topics.

I gave the vague - daddy put the baby in there and then mommy took care of it till it was grown enough to come out. He started to ask how daddy put it in and then got side tracked so I did not bring him back to it. He has also asked in detail how the babies get out. I had 2 C-Sections so I told him that the I went to the hospital and the dr. took them out. He asked if it hurt, etc. |

jewels, Cadence's little friend just got a new baby brother. She then told me that they played family at school and pretend to cut each other's bellies open to get the babies out. (Her mom had a C-section)

Have a very happy birthday joelies! Madison definitely has more of the deep questions, but Cass is usually along for the ride. We've discussed babies, smoking, LGBT/different family make-ups, racism, and Trump (they can't stand him). I've gathered that locally school kids know Trump has small hands and mock that they'll break down his wall. ✊ They know babies come out of vaginas, but Cass can't fathom it because they're small. You're telling me. |

Hi all. I'm home again today from work. I'm the worst patient. My ankles are getting better (they look awful but much better than they were), but my feet are still really swollen because I won't stay off them. I'm trying to do better today.

I told C that when two people love each other they can make a baby together and it grows in the mom's stomach for 9 months. He asked me how moms and dads made babies and I said it was Science and he would learn at school when he was older.
He then told me he wanted to be a Scientist to make cats like Maxi live a million years. And also a Ninja. He then told me that if he is a Scientist and a Ninja he can't marry Isla (his current boo) because then he won't have time to visit me.

It's been a big week for Madison. She taught herself to ride a bike and started reading chapter books. She has the talent show tonight and tomorrow is her belt test. Couldn't be more proud of that kid.
I'm supposed to belt test Friday and I'm so ready mentally but I hope my ankles are better by then because I want it over with.
