I can't even bring myself to type out our annual daycare costs. daycare costs is a HUGE factor in why I didn't take the Mon-Fri job I applied for with the school. I did the math and I'd actually be worse off than I am now only working weekends (and paying for a babysitter hourly for half of them).

We are paying $14,560 for O alone. New baby will cost us $16,380 for a total of $30,940. Which was a huge factor for us when determining child spacing. We cannot sustain double daycare for more than a year.

Yes cookswithwine, we did 1 year of 2 in full time daycare which ended this past September. That was more than enough time and it is more manageable now. O’s before and after care for school is only $700/ month now and E will be moving to the preschool room in a couple months which is $200/ month cheaper than the room she’s in now. I can’t wait to breathe!!

Daycare costs are insane. I am incredibly thankful for my ILs who watch the kids for free.

Carting Mia around with me back and forth to the office and staying up late getting my stuff done is no longer annoying in the slightest after seeing those numbers. I knew it was $$$$, but I’ve never seen it laid out before. No wonder I was so shocked by the price of non public preschool.
