Hi Ladies, we got a foot of snow last night so I took my time getting to work this morning. So much for Spring. Hoping this is the last big storm of the year.
How's everyone?

I am so ready for warmer weather! And for sick season to be over with.
My parents were here the last weekend of February and brought some terrible virus with them. So the kids are both sick again. The amount of tissues we have used since Saturday is insane.
I am delaying L’s 18 month check up until next week bc it’s looking like we’ll be holed up in the house getting over this mess all week.

Also all sick here.
And I hate March. I'm so over the snow and cold by this time every year. It's sunny today but feels like -20°, so.
I'm hoping both kids nap today. The 3.5 year old is always a crap shoot. He seems tired, so probably no nap because kids.

We got 6 inches of snow but already had a 3 hour delay so teachets and parents have conference day so im working.
I would like to admit im a cupcake snob. A woman brought in gourmet cupcakes today that looked awesome. I took one bute and threw it in the trash. Totally not worth the calories.
J slept pretty well last night again. Its not perfect but its better. Im hoping since 2 of those teeth came in it helps.
Also, his routine is get up, get milk, watch a video while having milk then go abiut his day. Today i picked him up and he wanted down. He went right over to his train set and played for like 20 minutes. It was super cute

Im hoping i dont get sick but we have at least a dozen confirmed cases of influenza a at school. UGH, I hope you are spared. I don't know why but the flu risk just gets my anxiety going in overdrive. So much DNW. I read too that the H1N3 is the one circulating more now instead of H1N1 and its much worse.

One kid sick here too. My oldest had a fever most of the weekend while my in-laws we're here. She seemed ok this morning so off to daycare because I am messed up too. I am pretty sure I have an ovarian cyst and am heading to the doctor tomorrow. My left side hurts like hell and I am nauseous, similar to when I had one a few years ago.
Otherwise just trying to get some things organized before I skip town for a week and my H has the kids. Oh and J keeps biting kids at daycare, he better not get kicked out...

Noah’s sleep regression is OUT. OF. CONTROL. I don’t even know what to do. It’s miserable and every ounce of trying to CIO he flips out even more than the last. DHs vacation ends tomorrow and our nanny is going to be aghast when she finds us every morning sleeping in his room 🤦🏻♀️🙈

We have sniffles too. This winter has just been the worst. I sympathize addymac. DS1 was like that. Now even at 4, he still can't put himself to sleep and wakes up once a night to come into our bed. We gave up on independent sleep around N's age and coslept. If I could go back, I would be more persistent about sleep training him. You are doing a good job, and I hope it starts working soon.

That sounds miserable yellowcat. Hope you feel better and let us know how your appt goes. I’m sorry addymac. I’m guessing he got all messed up with sleep because you were traveling? I hope he sorts it out soon so you don’t lose your mind!

Guys, I'm losing my ever living mind! This kid will not stop climbing alllllll the things, I'm exhausted of it already today and its only 11:15am! She is all bruised up and I'm literally worried the pedi will think she is being hurt, UGH! Any words of wisdom if any of you have climbers? I try redirecting but she is so damn stubborn and DOES NOT quit.

He had had stitches 6 times by then and had knocked out multiple teeth because he was wild. My parents sid they were mortified but we both had the same story so it was ok.

I took away her favorite climbing stuff for the time being (the kitchen barstools- bc she would not stay off the kitchen counters/cabinets). But she climbs EVERYTHING. She’s covered in scratches and bruises from the shenanigans. I cannot wait for her to get over it! By the end of the day I’m so so tired of redirecting her. It helps to have an outlet for it though, so I have our basement set up with a toddler slide, trampoline, play tent, plastic river stones, etc for them to mess around on. If it’s nice out we go to the playground. Oh I’ve also started racing/chasing her around the house to try to expend some energy.

E is obsessed with climbing the kitchen chairs to stand on the table. We set up a jungle gym of sorts in the basement and it seems to help.

I don’t look when she climbs and then I shrug when she falls. R is all cut up and bruised.
Today she grabbed the step stool out of the bathroom and moved it in front of her sister’s door. She climbed up and was trying to open T’s door. We usually keep all doors shut in the back of the house and H had left the bathroom door open.

Yeah I know you have to let them climb and figure stuff out but she legit went head first off the couch and somersaulted so when it looks like she might break her neck, I clutch pearls.

addymac, I was just going to check in and ask how N was doing with sleep and if things were going better but saw your post in the Drinking thread from last night 😬 Fuck, I’m sorry it’s going so rough. I hope sleep training helps.

addymac I am sorry N hates sleeping without you so much. I think M is getting her bottom K9’s that seem to be the worst set of teeth ever ?? She’s biting me non stop and I can not brush her teeth. I’m really frustrated at not being able to brush her teeth. I’ve been having her do it. Her breath is stinky. I don’t want to pin her down and brush them. That seems really harsh. But what do I actually do? I’m also really tired of getting smacked in the face. She seems to do it when she’s happy. She will smack me followed by No! Nice and then stroke my face. Like no kid. Don’t hit me to begin with. Then she she smacks me multiple times in a row. I hold her hands and tell her to be nice. I do all these nice fluffy positive things. Why am I still getting smacked in the face ??? Yes with the canines. M is getting all 4 and has been a monster so I'm attributing it to that. Or my kid is just evil, lol. No smacking in the face but plenty of sass. As far as brushing, just keep trying and let her chew the brush for now. At least that is what I am doing.

Also for being sick nonstop. we are not sick today! But we have not had a longer than two week break since October. Over it. DD is scheduled to get tubes in April for the non stop ear infections. Hope we can just not get one this month before the surgery. DD also decided she would just rather be naked. Any one else entering that stage ? I hope the tubes help. I have heard it making a world of difference in friend's kids who have had them.

Thanks guys. Last night I tried the futon and it mostly worked. I need to move the futon a little closer to his crib bc I almost fell off reaching to keep my hand in the corner of his crib so he could touch it when he wanted. Of course it didn’t help that DH didn’t angle his pen is correctly? And he pissed out of his diaper and his diaper was mostly dry 🙄 so that was a reasonable wake up but still exhausting.
I’m SO sick today and have to work back to back shifts this evening and tomorrow morning. I think the cold N had last week he gave to me and I’m miserable.
