Humph flamingo I bet one text saying "we didn't hear from you so we booked someone else, bummer!" Will get her to respond a bit more promptly. Maybe she's waiting for weekend plans to firm up before committing? That would be my guess as well. But I'd still be highly annoyed. I hate no response.

Legos are a great investment. Spent 45 minutes assembling and its provided hours, actual hours of entertainment.

One of my cats has evicted our Labrador from her dog house 😂. Every time I go out there the dog is laying next to the dog house and the cat is inside. I have seen them both in there together a few times. But it’s cracking me up for some reason.
ETA: the cat has her own cat condo, complete with a heated cat house, and roof and walls.

Hi! Sorry I've been a bit MIA. Work has been insane lately. Then my manager, M - who really co-manages the work of 6 squads with me - told me yesterday that he's giving his notice today. After the initial panic, I had a good talk with DH about the potential for this to be a great opportunity for me, because they've never needed me more and I'm no longer in anyone's shadow. Still, there's just SO MUCH work, we were struggling with the 2 of us. I woke up around 3:45 this morning and couldn't shut my brain off. I gave up by 4:45 and snuck downstairs to work for a couple of hours before anyone else was awake. Adrenaline is an amazing thing.
Since M was pretty high-profile in the company, in addition to processing this myself, I knew all hell would break loose once everyone else knew. I walked a coworker out and managed to calm her down pretty decently by the time we got to the parking garage. Then by the time I got to daycare, I had text messages and voicemails from coworkers and my new manager (M's manager). I did connect with him and he immediately started kissing my ass, they are so panicked. It's such an odd position to be in after feeling so taken for granted for ages.
So yeah, I've been trying to put it out of my mind when the boys are around then talk through things with DH. He's been awesome. Assuming the weather is decent, he asked his parents to come over tomorrow evening so we can go out to dinner and de-stress.
Anyhow sorry for being MIA, I've missed you ladies!!

I got some interesting news/possible prospects for the future at work today. My position is only guaranteed and funded for 6 months a year. Then my boss usually pays for a few more months out of a different budget. I’m usually laid off for about 2-3 months each winter (unless I can snag a detail with a different division like I’m doing right now).
So my boss met with the superintendent today and they gave me a larger budget for my program this year. They are also working on some things that would give me more work, potential to be converted to year round. And lastly they discussed a grade (salary) increase once a few new things are in place (could be a year before that happens).
This gives me hope though. I’ve been so conflicted about whether I want to do the job I am detailed to permanently. And I really don’t think I want to. But the fact that it is year round was the big pull to it. But with the sound of the way things are going to potentially go in my real position, I feel better about possibly passing on the job I doing as a detail right now.
Whew...did that confuse you all? It’s kinda confusing but basically I feel better after hearing this from my boss.

Am I the only nut job who loves the age 1.5-3.5? I mean I love kids in every stage (not just my own) the newborn snuggles, the babbling crawling stage, school age Ds has now with all his amazing stories. But 1.5-3.5 is my absolute favourite age, kids are so cute, easy, fun and they’re developing so fast and gain so much amazing skills. If one day my kids are a little older, I would like to become an IMH-specialist .

That’s great news lfig! And you too joelies. It sounds like the chance you need to be seen. nam2013 I really enjoyed 2-3. 3 to 3.5 were the absolute worst. I do enjoy Cs age now. I’m loving the independence, the ability to have more meaningful conversations, and the innocence.

I find that I like whatever age they are . I always say, “oh, this is absolutely my favorite age,”and then a few months later I say the same thing.

I am both mwhip and guster. One day I'm worn out and stressed with them, they next they're little dolls and I can't get enough of them. I've appreciated different things from each age group, but overall I've enjoyed them more as they age and become more independent. I loved the snuggly newborn stage, but at the same time I feel our relationship is richer now that it's so much more than getting them to eat, change them, try to get them to sleep. I love the little conversations. I love that they are more independent and sleep through the night so I'm not constantly tired tending to never-ending needs. I think of all the things I can do with them now that I couldn't do with a baby. So much more fun.

My kid has been a brat lately, but we've also been a bit lax on parenting, so it's a combo of both over here. I'm implementing a new responsibility chart that will hopefully help. She's all about it right now while we're making it, so FX. All in all, this is an ok age. I think I preferred the 1-3 age as well nam2013. I love watching her learn so many new things. Walking, talking. It was great.

I was just thinking today how age 2-3 are my favorite. Z is 3 and she is just so fun. She talks constantly and is so endearing and funny. I just love it.
