MH & I are going to the Rockets game again tonight. We're going back to that same spot to eat beforehand. I'm thinking I'll try the veggie pizza. It has roasted squash, zucchini, artichokes, carrots, asparagus, crispy Brussels sprouts leaves, goat cheese and basil pesto.

With a wine flight of course.

Yikes guster. Hopefully it was nothing too terrible, just dumb kids or something. I think leaving your lights on outside later is smart, and maybe getting a camera and/or motion activated outdoor lights, too.

Semi-related: My parents had a break-in at their lake house one winter (neighbor noticed tracks and knowing our house was closed up, called local police), it was someone looking for alcohol. Use your heads, criminals...you're leaving evidence in the snow!

You guys, I am such an idiot.
I called my best friend to tell her what happened, and she said, “didn’t you have XXYY pest-control out on Tuesday? They called while we were talking and you said you forgot to cancel them.” Which is absolutely what happened complete with the pest control company leaving me a note on the door that said they checked the perimeter and saw nothing to worry about, and they suggested cutting back some of the branches on the west side of house.
I’m so relieved, but also so embarrassed. The trooper actually went to my neighbors houses to see if they noticed anything. Dumb!!

Omg guster, so glad you figured it out! In high school I was home alone and was looking through my sister's closet when I saw a man right outside the bedroom window who quickly ducked down. I called my mom and then called 911. It was a meter reader...

There is nothing sweeter than a baby foal. I had 5 and they are just the best. I had one that if you sat down, she'd curl in your lap like a dog. Even when she was full grown and 400 pounds, she would still try to sit on you lol.

Oh hey. Both girls had school this morning...and DH infringed on my alone time because his boss told him he didn’t need to come in today. I ended up going to costco with my sister since he was home. I took a nap in the afternoon and then worked this evening. I’m barely giving H pain meds so I think she’s on the upswing. At naptime she had a 101 fever, and I’m not sure if that’s still normal so I’m probably going to give the doctor a call in the morning. DNW to deal with infection.

guster I would have been freaked out and done the same! We always leave our outside lights on, they are on right now, and stay on all the time, unless it's summer and we are sitting outside so the June bugs don't dive bomb us. We also have the Ring, that records everything basically. My H is a paranoid weirdo about break ins, so it's a few extra steps of security. There have been a lot of break ins to cars in our neighborhood over the past few years (earlier this week even when they stole someone's car from their driveway), so we don't want to risk anything. When H is home, his work truck contains thousands of dollars of equipment/parts that are his and his companies.
