I think Atticus’ little school friend is coming over this afternoon. I told his mom she can drop him off after lunch and he can stay for dinner. She’s got the flu and her H is out of town so I know she needs the break.
It’s date night and maybe we’ll go to the wine bar.
Poppy is a major mama’s girl and cries if I’m not holding her. She’s always been a bit clingy but this is OTT. I’m hoping it’s teeth.

If your kid is still in diapers they should not be in the dodgeball pit. I love that all kids can go anywhere here but you would think a parent would recognize that it’s dangerous for a little kid. I’m mostly annoyed because I would hate for C to accidentally hurt a toddler. Kids a beast at dodgeball.

That’s really sweet of you to have a’s friend over, cagoldi. I’m sorry for the difficult work situation for yh, dapostrophe. I hope the sale doesn’t affect his position.

Not entirely related: J constantly wants to go in the under 2 room at the bounce place. I usually make excuses and keep him out. But a few months ago he was relentless with asking so I made him ask an employee if he could go in and she asked his age and told him no. Hes never asked again.

Good morning! Thank you so much everyone for the birthday love! Yesterday was a good day. S let me sleep in and then we went and got ham and cheese croissants and donuts for breakfast. We took the kids bowling and my parents came by for drinks and cake. I took a three hour nap and then we went out for sushi and Dane home and drank too much while catching up on a million little things. Oh, and S got us tickets for the Circe de sole show that’s coming to Phoenix next month. Today we’re going out to Nordstrom’s and then lunch and S took tomorrow off work so we can go to a spring training game.

J has had a border line fever off and on for a few days but feels fine otherwise. Hes coughing but nothing else. He seems to feel better today though. Idk what we're doing today. A is working on stuff at the house most of the day. Its 50 here today but soooooo windy that people are losing power. Here too! I just plugged my phone in to charge in case we lose power! I could have sworn we lost siding last night. 40-60mph winds since 3am last night. By some miracle we didn't lise shingles or siding. MH is driving to KC today and we were worried about trucks on the road.

During those times I think it's expected your kid can go anywhere. That said, the dodge ball area isn't usually being used for dodgeball

MH just a while ago and will be gone for the week. SD and E are playing and I'm dying for a nap since the wind and my period kept me up last night.

@dapostraphe stressful times at your house. I feel like anytime a routine feels comfortable there is a big shake up.

Hi hi - I went to a Barre3 class and then Harris teeter and actually got sufficient groceries (mh doesn't like when I go solo bc I suck at it). It was supposed to be upper 60s and sunny, it's 50 and gray and damp out, false advertising 🙄. I have a team meeting shortly and then may try to check out the local library after naptime. I get blood drawn tomorrow so I need to make sure I'm hydrated, lately I'm awful with water intake.

kim22 I was out of town for a work conference and didn’t keep up here. What happened with the house? Unfortunately we discovered they did not pull permits for most of the renovations. Our lawyer sent a letter Friday afternoon saying if they don’t get proper inspections/approvals from the town, we are out. Waiting to hear what they have to say but making appointments to see some other houses one day this week. I love the house so much but it’s top of our budget so we can’t gamble on stuff not being done right.

I’m on week 4 (5?) with a cough/cold/throat ache and I’m soooooo done with it. It is not enough to actually be sick, but enough to feel crappy. Plus I so do not feel sexy with mucus everywhere.

When I bought the house we live in now, the town came to inspect after closing for things like how many bedrooms and how many bathrooms. My neighbors found out when they had that inspection that one bathroom was added without permits. The city made them rip it out and then they had to take the previous owners to court over it. I’m not up for that.

I’m not up for that. Right. To @snoop’s point, it’s not just rooms/square footage for tax purposes, it’s to ensure building code was followed—was plumbing, electrical, foundation work done correctly and safely, etc. Permits often/typically aren’t needed for cosmetic updates but anything more structural or mechanical, they need to be pulled. It’s a shortcut and it’s not worth the risk, IMO...makes me wonder if a contractor was willing to skip that step, what else they would skip. I think you’re smart to be cautious, Kim!

DH took B to the movie and he loved it; DH probably napped, but I did the sad dog movie, so he was on his own for dragons, lol. Meanwhile I was here hoping C would nap, but no such luck; we played dress-up for almost 2 hours.
DH currently has the kids out for a walk--THE RAIN STOPPED--and i'm eating Cheez-Its in my bed. I probably should dig out my Nook to download my book club book.

Just got back from the play. It was super cute and kept Cadence's attention for the most part.

I bought cauliflower gnocchi at Trader Joe's... what do I do with it!? Make a red meat sauce for over? Serve as a side dish for something?
ETA: never mind. Doing cauliflower gnocchi in asiago mushroom spinach sauce with salmon.

Doing cauliflower gnocchi in asiago mushroom spinach sauce with salmon. I have heard that if you boil it it does get much too mushy and the preferred preparation is to sauté it. And also, your preparation sounds delicious.

I made a crispy baked gnocchi that was good. It was basically a one pan meal, roasted veggies and crispy gnocchi.

I decided not to cook and order pizza instead since it’s Oscar night and I have a lot of fashion to judge.

Hi! Not sure if I checked in today. Busy day. We got out of the house early to do all the errands I never did yesterday and then we had a party M got invited to by his dentist office. He invited his bestie from his old school to join him and they had fun.
I was able to get the house picked up last night, but it didn’t last long. I think it’s time to start packing up.... errr, donating... toys. It’s just too much. I need to schedule a day off soon to make that happen.

Hi friends. We did literally nothing all day, super lazy. Apparently it was a ground blizzard outside because of high winds, but it didn’t seem to drift too badly in our driveway. I tried spacing H’s medicine out a little more today and it wasn’t a good idea. She complained about pain a lot so the last couple of doses I did closer together again. She wants to go to school tomorrow so I told her that I would decide based on how she seems to be feeling. S has her follow up with the ENT from her tube surgery and I kinda wanna bring H with anyways so they can check on her healing (although I’m sure she’s healing just fine).
