DS had practice from 7:30-9 Am, a game at 3:15, and is now at another game that started at 9:50. I randomly ran into my realtor at the hockey rink today and showed her another house we are interested in seeing if we can’t sort out the issues with the first one. We had a fun dinner out with a few families from the team between games.

DD is sleeping at her friend’s house for the first time. I just texted the mom to see if DD wanted to say goodnight and she said no, she’s fine. I’m going to give myself a high five for raising a confident kid instead of being sad that she didn’t want to talk.

lahdeedah I often feel the same way about a housecleaner. What I need is someone who will come and pick up all the random stuff, do a load of dishes, maybe run a few errands and then clean. But once I fall down that rabbit hole, I realize I probably require a whole staff...nanny, cook, maid, groundskeeper, chauffeur, masseuse. Just the necessities, of course!

Morning. We were planning on going to the dunes, but instead are working in the garden. Picked up some violins, ranunculus and some bulbs to bring back some colour in our tiny concrete jungle. It looks like a hot mess at the moment 😖.

Morning Ladies! I don't know if I told you guys that MH's company has gone up for sale and they did a bunch of layoffs. His already too small team was hit pretty hard, so he's been working like crazy this past week or two. It is hard because we were just starting to get into a good routine with the house and kids where things were feeling manageable and then this. Plus, he will be getting less than half of his typical bonus this year, so last night we decided to forgo our trip to Maine this summer ☹️ I am sad about all of this, but also grateful that H still has a job and hopeful that things will turn around for him once the dust settles.

Today we are going to a Blue and Gold banquet for my son's cub scout troop, which means I don't have to cook. So, not all bad news to report 😉

That's stressful dapostrophe. I hope the sell doesn't effect him and things can be smoothed out quickly. The uncertainty of a company for sale is so stressful. Is he looking for anything else in the meantime or feels like he will be safe?

Morning! Hanging out around the house for the morning. DH has realized that grocery shopping solo is easier than all four of us going, so he's heading out at some point. We're going to a Fairfield U basketball game this afternoon and maybe out to this brewery/pizza place afterwards, if the kids can keep it together. Col was pretty good at dinner with my family last night but Chase was a train wreck. At least we can kind of see the light at the end of the tunnel via Colin now.

Nothing exciting here today. We ran some errands yesterday. I had to take my phone to be fixed yesterday...the screen turned pink Thursday morning and I couldn't fix it. Verizon looked at it and told me to contact Samsung, they told me to take it to a local repair place after diagnosing via live chat, we ended up doing a factory reset. Such a PITA.

Evie came to me yesterday about 4 and said she wanted to go stay at MILs for the night. No idea why, but we took her out there and H and I went and got dinner then watched Netflix.

I'm sorry about your DH's work situation, dapostrophe. Layoffs are the worst - if you don't lose your job, you're thankful for what's at best a pretty shitty situation. I've been there.

J has had a border line fever off and on for a few days but feels fine otherwise. Hes coughing but nothing else. He seems to feel better today though. Idk what we're doing today. A is working on stuff at the house most of the day. Its 50 here today but soooooo windy that people are losing power.

Glad YH seems safe, even though I’m sure it’s tough on him. dapostrophe It sucks that you all have to cancel your summer vacation. Once everything settles, will he be looking for something else or does he want to stick it out?

mwhip and lahdeedah He will stick it out for now. He's pretty valuable and there is talk of ways his team will shift for the better. However, it's just talk at this point, so we are going to err on the side of caution for now.

I think this right here is what makes parenting subsequent children "easier". You know nothing is permanent and they eventually move on to a new stage. My 6 y/o was a first child in many ways coming 10 years after my first and he was a tough toddler. Now, 3 kids later, I don't know that there is much baby Bea will throw at us that we haven't already seen 😉

DH is taking B to see the new ‘training Dragons’ movie (as B calls it) after lunch. We were talking about going out for wings beforehand but we have leftovers from PF Chang’s we should probably polish off.

I need to turn it around somehow.

MH and his friend are taking C to lunch and the Red Wings game, he's so excited! I'm trying to convince my sister to meet up with me and the other kids at a brewery. Her daughters nap might not match up with A's though so we'll see.

Last I checked 7,500 were without power already. The wind advisory is in effect until 10pm..

My brother, sil and nephews have been on vacation all week. They got back late last night and thank God. J has had at least 3 meltdowns because he missed cousin Charlie. After naps we're going down to play.

DD has so much fun at her sleepover that she’s off to the trampoline park with her friend today. I’m waiting for C to wake up from nap then we are grocery shopping. DS has another game this afternoon.

DH turns 40 in 2 weeks. I planned nothing because we had a tentative closing date for the beach house and I figured we’d spent it there but now that that’s not going to happen, I don’t know what to do. I can’t make any large purchases as per my mortgage approval so I need to figure this out.

I just saw that we’re supposed to have high winds tonight into tomorrow. I think that scares me more than heavy rain and snow

MH turns 40 next year so I have big plans of inviting his siblings and their families and renting a lake house in our town so we can surprise him and have a weekend “away” without him getting suspicious. Unfortunately, there is only 1 house available in town and it’s 900 a night.

Morning. Although yesterday was a write off for MH, I kicked ass. Ran a ton of errands on J’s nap and then in the afternoon took both kids to the trampoline place by myself, they were so good!

Today I’m washing all the things so the sickness doesn’t hit the rest of us.
