Re: working with another ST, definitely. Once I have their full reports in hand, I will call the behavioral therapist and with all the diplomacy I can muster, tell him I am most comfortable with the plan we originally discussed the day of the evaluation. So we’ll see how that goes. I think, if they really wanted to, they could say they don’t agree to provide ST unless he does the ABA also. If that’s the case I will have to see about a different office doing our therapies, I think. It’s a little tricky because this is the provider that we were sent to through the county’s early intervention program. This sort of solidifies my opinion that it’s going to be important to get him transitioned to public preschool in August because I am certain they can’t withhold ST if we aren’t doing behavioral interventions, right? When does he turn 3? As soon as he does you can set up a meeting to get him in to the public school system and get an IEP. Ususally the EI program will help facilitate that transition, but if they are not giving you what you need I would just go for it myself. Once he has an IEP, They have to provide the services as outlined in the IEP. Regardless of their opinions.

The county said they would facilitate the process with transitioning everything to the public school but I am still waiting for them to assign us a case manager.
